European football next season | United - Europa League, Chelsea - Conference League, wee club in the north-east - feck all!

Beating team the local rivals with 115 charges makes this FA cup win so sweet.

Shafting Newcastle and Chelsea in the process makes it downright hilarious

Is this the best FA cup win we've ever had?

In retrospect, after complaining a lot about Europa League in the past, I honestly am really glad that we made it in. Having no European football at all to look forward to, even at the start of the season, is so boring. Only really dawned on me when the prospect was facing us.

3 Birds killed in one shot.

As much as I was snobby about EL ,, it is much better to have some some sort of European football to look forward to.. Also will help with squad rotation.

Absolutely. Keeps us in the loop formwise as well. A big squad doesn't need to wait a week to play the next game.

Final in San Mamés. Roma, Porto, Lyon, Spurs, Real Sociedad, Eintracht Frankfurt...maybe Ajax. Some decent away games there. I'm pleased we're in Europe.

Stopping Pool winning the treble under Tommy Doc and winning it in 99 being part of the treble is tough to beat, and that Giggsy semi final goal.

Winning the EL would be a realistic and good achievement. Glad Newcastle got knocked out of Europe completely after that cnut Shearer's conduct today

A welcome boost for the coffers, too, which will help in the summer. With the top 6 Serie A teams out of it and no teams dropping down from the UCL, either, it's also a highly winnable tournament next season.

Just clicked we got Europa League, get in!! Honestly, it's not a bad competition and it's good for our development with our squad and is needed for the squad depth. Funny how much 1 game can change things

Was just thinking the exact same thing. In all honesty I would have missed having watching United to look forward to during the week, and we have some youth like Kwambala and Diallo who can get some very valuable minutes.

100%.
I think Europa league has become a decent competition in recent years with the conference thing below it.
There are always good matches from the quarter final on.
Was talking to a Liverpool fan today who agreed

We have a very good chance of winning it next season. I think someone said there is 5 Bundesliga and 5 Serie A sides going into the CL. That'll dilute the pool for the EL.

Plus there are 2 extra games in January so even ETH if he’s still here will have European football after Xmas.

Was sick of Europa League last season after we got knocked out by Sevilla (after same happened vs them in 2020 and Villarreal in 2021). But great to qualify for it again. It's really our level and hope we can be good enough next season to go on and win it. Teams like Atalanta and Leverkusen showed how difficult it can be so we'll have to at our best.

I don't mind being in the EL and understand it's actually good for finances. I did NOT give a feck about the Conference league though.
No the winner of the conference league got about €20m so from Chelsea point of view they probably can’t afford to enter it with the 80% Squad ratio rule from UEFA

It was only conference we didn’t want for financial reasons (Swiss rambles tweet), EL is a welcome surprise.
Totally agree the Europa league could be 8 league matches 4 home, 4 away plus potentially another 7 games in knock out.

The club with ETH if he stays, could easily play 60-64 games so we need a squad of 27/28 we need to learn from being thread bare for most of this season!

United Lucky 13th FA Cup Win, definitely our best Fa Cup win since Fergie crucial win?

Yes, the EL is our level these days and we had good runs in this competition in recent seasons.

Hope we can win the EL a second time. I don’t mind winning this and qualifying for the CL, while not getting top 4, like we did in 2017.

The fact that it knocks Chelsea down a competition and Newcastle out altogether is just icing on the cake

Absolutely.

I'd always prefer winning actual trophies to the 'top 4 trophy' anyway. But if you can kill two birds with one stone by winning the cup that gets you CL qualification anyway, then that's much better than finishing top 4 but going trophyless.

Anyone knows when is the date of the draw to the groups ?

And where can I find the teams that qualified to Europa League next season ?

Didn't find the actual date, sorry mate

A good site to follow the qualification for the Europa League group stage.

There are pretty decent teams in there you know ? Lyon, Roma, Porto, Ajax, spurs, Frankfurt, Real Sociedad, Bilbao, Nice

I didn't realise there could be such repercussion on the other teams. I thought winning that will just secure us the Europa spot.
Nice to give a slap to another oil club Newcastle by kicking them out of Europe. Potentially also kicking another ex-oil club Chelsea out of Europe if they can't qualify under ffp to be in the competition.
Indeed a cherry to the top.

At least the EL is worth being in. The conference whatever thingy, I'd rather be without that.

I thought qualifying for the Conference League was nothing to be sniffed at? European football is European football, after all right?

Genuinely hope we take the europa serious this time around, any europan silverware would be welcome, plus automatic cl qualification.

The competition should be slightly weaker than last year as both Italy and Germany have gotten an extra cl spot but it can obviously be unpredictable.
