Europa League 24/25

Why are Turkish teams so shite? They invest decently to beat AZ and Rangers

One of the worst tactical performances I've ever seen from a manager. They had no midfield and at no point did he try and change it.

I feel bad for United fans that had to watch Amrabat every week btw. He is absolutely shite.

I kept telling people how shite he was and slow. But that fecking clip of him chasing down Mbappe was apparently proof he's quick. Even though if you watch the full highlights, Mbappe burns him constantly in the game

Spurs lost and it seems AZ dominated them. Only 1-0 so you'd still back Spurs to turn it around next week, with few players possibly coming back? Think Solanke, van de Ven and Romero all could be ready to start that one.

I swear every Glimt-player would walk into our first XI. 2nd goal sublime.

Nah they wouldn't because they aren't better player - they are just a lot better coached

I doubt more than 2-3 players would make it TBH, but they do have an absolutely fantastic coach.

I seem to recall Knudsen being laughed at as a plastic-pitch coach in dutch media when he was on the shortlist of Ajax summer of 23 or whenever it was.
Sure, they do play on an artificial pitch and probably have some home advantage because of that, but that is hardly the main explanation behind Glimt's results.

Just saw shot from goodness knows where fly into the net. Didn't notice the deflection. Not taking enough notice as gone off football completely at the moment.
I needed the replay as well because I was cursing too much at first.

Shame the Bodo manager seems to not want to leave. He'd be an outside shout for me as someone I'd like to see manage us.

That would be a high risk signing for sure. But starting to become somewhat strange that a well run and stable biggish club hasn't managed to convince him yet.

By Norwegian standards his salary is very high with bonuses and all, so he can afford to be picky as his salary is probably mid-size top 5 league coach already.

Nazio also win it with the last kick of the game, and while down to 9 men too :nervous: :o

Olympiacos hadn't lost a game since October, until they faced a Glimt team thats still 3 weeks to go until the season starts and they were absolutely crushed.

Yep 26 games unbeaten until they met Bodo Glimt . I'm so proud of my Norwegian club.

Yes Knutsen is an absolute topcoach. On par With Arne Slot from Liverpool, probably even better.

So glad he is still at Glimt and hopefully next season with Glimt in the Championsleague.

I do think it's obvious that he has Bodø/Glimt outperforming their talent level, but who knows how he'd cope for a biggish side in a big league?
He could be a transformative coach for a biggish struggling side like Everton, or, it might not work.
I've got no idea.

I see similarities with Postecoglou at Spurs in many ways, but I feel Knutsen is slightly more pragmatic which is probably a good thing.
(And Glimt did beat Celtic 5-1 on aggregate while Ange was there if I remember correctly).
I'd consider him a higher risk appointment than Postecoglou though, as Knutsen was almost 50 before he did anything of significance and he hasn't really
got any professional managing experience except this longish stint at Bodø/Glimt.

I think he is too good for a club like AZ though, he should rather go to the team he really should be coaching --> SK Brann!

Hahaha funny guy. AZ's level is far above Brann
I agree with you that Knutsen is not the best coach for every club. But that is the problem of those clubs. Give Knutsen the right tools and he gets the job done. For Bodo Glimt he is the perfect coach and I sure hope he sticks around for a long time to come :D

But best of luck with Brann it is a good club in a great city. I have been to Bergen 3 or 4 times and I loved it. I sure hope to go back someday.

Bodø Glimt is a total dark horse to go to the final. They can beat any of the remaining teams at their home turf. They are weaker on natural grass, but as it turns out, they are absolutely lethal on the counter

The commentator on TNT just said Nico and Inaki aren't related as they are different nationalities.

Frankfurt all but killed the tie in the first half, leading 4-1 in total right now.

Bodø is my favorite underdog for EL. What they're pulling off atm is mad.

Roma have probably ruined whatever chance they had of winning that tie with that red card after ten minutes?

Its a shame. We might not go through but if we were to go on a run it's one of these we'd face in a semi and id fancy us over roma more than bilbao, who are hosting the final

Of course we have to do our part first and foremost

One of the two sides has had a man red carded in six of Roma's last eight matches, including all four of their Europa League knockout matches. Total shithousers.

Very harsh call on Hummels now that I look at it. Yes he gets the man on the follow through but he wins the ball initially, its a good tackle. Practically determining the tie on an incident like this sucks.

I don't think that was harsh, bad tackle, but also he was on through.
