Europa League 22/23 | Final: Sevilla vs Roma (May 31)

Listening to Martin Keown go from 'Winning the pens will really cement this teams hero status' to 'well losing the pens is a blessing' afterwards is comedy gold!

Don’t want Sevilla or Roma, not out of fear but out of boredom.

We still got to face Juventus, Sevilla, or Roma.

All solid teams and can win the tournament as well.

Sevilla in particular, I have bad feelings about it.

Sevilla have been beyond awful this season and are battling relegation in La Liga. We’ve just beaten two far better Spanish sides, and did not struggle at all against Betis who are miles better than them.

No easy teams left in that mix up. 7 out of the 8 teams look really tough. Mourinho Roma!!

I’m happy they lost, but are some of you lot wanting them to fall apart in the league? And City win three in a row?
Who cares? City are a plastic club. Their league titles don't count. They'll be kicked out of the league soon.

Us for the mickey mouse treble, City for the league and Real Madrid again for the CL

Honestly can't believe anyone can be a Manchester United fan willingly root for Manchester City to win the title.

Unless it's a mixup like Robhinho who thought they were the same club. Ridiculous.

Well done to Sporting, never expected them to actually go through despite being good in both legs.

Only PL and 11 games in it left for Arsenal to win the title. They'll be playing one game a week again and really expect them to win it, don't think City are capable of those long winning runs they used to have in the past.

I don't care about City just like you all but them winning it 3 times in a row (something only Fergie achieved) wouldn't be ideal either.

I just don’t want Roma and fecking Jose. If he does a number on us we will never hear him shut up about it.

Juventus and I guess Roma are really the only tough teams left now. We really should win this
Nah mate. I regularly watch Roma and they are piss poor. Trust me. Juve aren’t good either. I’d rather avoid Sporting and Sevilla. Sporting are good and I’m done with Spanish teams. They own shithousery and are jammy as feck in Europe especially sevilla no matter how poor they are in the league.

Aren’t Sevilla having a terrible season? Close to the bottom of La Liga?
Yeah for the last decade Sevilla would have been the worst draw but something off with them this season. I'd definitely take them in the next round.
I think Sporting, Juve and Roma the strongest teams left. Leverkusen have been pretty poor this season.

Really? Thought they were quite central and keeper should’ve saved most. Same for Arsenal’s.

Good or bad pens are usually judged by whether they go in. Martinelli took a similar pen to some of the others than went in but I’m sure there are some that will say he took a poor penalty while praising all of Sporting’s pens.

I hope that weird Sporting-adjacent Ronaldo fan on here has had a good night.

Anything can happen in football but this season over 6 games we've won 4, drew 1 and lost 1 (to a dodgy penalty) vs the current 1st, 4th and 5th teams in Spain. So if we have every available I'd fancy us against the 13h team in Spain.

I actually want easier teams in the run up to the final. Don't want really tough games as we come towards the season end and still competing in 2 cup competitions and trying to secure top 4

Most people don't care when City when anything, Arsenal winning the title before we do will hurt much more.

Last Eight possible opposition for Man United

Sevilla - in Europe this season finished 3rd in their Champions league group with 5th points (Man City 1st and Dortmund 2nd) won their Europa league round 16,32 matches v PSV 3-2 on AGG and 2-1 on AGG v Fenerbahce. In the La Liga they are 13th with 28 points.

Feyenoord - Topped their Europa league group (all 4 teams got 8 points) won round 16 tie against Shakhtar 8-2 on AGG. They are top of their own domestic league by 3 points ahead of Ajax.

Juventus - 3rd in their Champions league group with 3 points (Benfica 1st and PSG 2nd) won their Europa League round 16,32 matches v Nantes 4-1 on AGG and v SC Freiburg 3-0 on AGG. They are currently 7th in Serie A with 38 points.

Mate, maybe you don’t watch them in serie A but I do so you can try to trust me on this. They are worse than Betis. I know they beat socieded but honest to God, they aren’t good at anything.

It's not that easy though. I'm not saying that United would struggle but Sevilla has experienced in this cup. If it was that easy to predict, the 4th club in the Portugese league wouldn't have defeated the number 1 PL club.

I’m happy they lost, but are some of you lot wanting them to fall apart in the league? And City win three in a row?

Yep.

City pips them to the title on the final day, crushing their dreams.

They go on to lose a CL semi final to a crushing home defeat, Pep realizes that the Yaya Toure curse is a real thing and decides to quit after City gets charged and stripped of all the titles.

Pool sack Jurgen for failing to qualify for the CL.

Leaving us as the only contenders for next year, all the while we've won the Cup treble this year against Pep in the FA cup and Jose in the EL cup finals.

I'd love Feyenoord or Leverkusen. Both teams don't know how to park the bus, so we should be able to outplay them.

Not sure about that Belgian team but you know Roma and Sevilla will be a pain in the arse.

Juventus not sure about them but I don't think they're some world-beaters.

Finally, Sporting did well today but I fancy us, especially if the return leg is at OT.

Great chance to add this to the League Cup and Bangkok Century Cup now. The Happy Shopper Quadruple is still on!

Only time I would root for them if it's between them and Liverpool. People wanting them to beat Arsenal is weird to me. How are they not sick of watching City win the league every year?
