I kept Lukaku knowing there'd be a chance he'd be in Martinez's ear wanting to pad his stats for the top scorer race even if there was heavy rotation. Should have taken the extra leap and captained him, though.

Yeah I picked KDB over Depay though. I called it with 3 goals for Netherlands. To be fair first half they could have had more. Dumfries almost and Malen could have scored.
Macedonia could have scored as well and hit the post. Very fun game with teams not needing any points.
Just annoying with the Dumfries sub, but I knew that could happen. Just thought he was worth a punt anyway given how attacking he is.

Do you get to use all the free transfers, use Limitless to bring your squad for that round in, then get the team with the free transfers you made for the quarters, or would you be stuck with your group stage team in the quarters unless you used Wildcard?

I had the same thought and wasn't sure so I used it for MD3 so as not to waste the unlimited transfers one when I stitched me up for the R16 games.
not 100% sure on what you're planning to do/the order
You get unlimited free transfers at the start of R16, but I think using a chip usually overwrites free transfers, so if I used Limitless in R16, I'm thinking it might revert back to my current squad for the quarters.
I'm hoping I could use the free transfers, lock those in (for the quarters) then use limitless for R16.

I'm tempted to gamble and go with Gosens. When he gets a clean sheet (for which the chances are quite high imo), then he has already matched KDB's output. And he might even provide an Assist or Goal...
Germany's defence hasn't looked great so I would say there is a good chance he just gets 2 points...
However have just looked up his stats for recent seasons, 20 goals and 14 assists in his last 65 Serie A games
so certainly not a bad gamble, could be 2 points, could be 15 points. I'm not sure I'm brave enough because I can go Ronaldo/Gnabry/Havertz instead, but now I wouldn't be surprised if Gosens turns out to be the highest scorer.
