ETH Out Thread

I would have not shed a tear if he got sacked after finishing dead last in a CL group with Copenhagen and Galatasaray. That was the moment where the serious doubt began for me, and further compounded by zero improvement in performances through the rest of last season.

Is this a thread to predict the timing? I'm going for 10am on the 18th Dec...when we'd lost our 11th game of the season in the league! We love rewarding incompetence at this club, why change the habit of a lifetime?

He will go. Either tomorrow or the international break. My preference is tomorrow. Leave it to Ruud for the next 2 games and get someone in during the break.

This does feel like the end, but from an INEOS point of view are there any managers available that are demonstrably better than the options in the summer?
There are mangers demonstrably better than Erik ten Hag, and that's the only bar that needs to be cleared. I'm tired of this idea that if you can't have the absolute ideal replacement, you have to stick with this Dutch fraud instead. Sack him, replace him and if the new guy's no better, sack him too at the end of the season.

The problem we’re going to have now is trying to get a manager half way through a season. Not even halve way actually. The summer was the only chance. If we’re going to throw this season away then I’d rather we did it with a fully new manager rather than an interim. A manager that can get a free pass whilst installing a style during the season.

You are predicting the fans need to continue suffering for another 7weeks! Time to stop watching football…

It's only a matter of time.

We look absolutely clueless out there, and there is no excuse now. The players are not that bad collectively. It's the coaching - I couldn't be more certain of that.

Ineos would never do that to Erik so close to Xmas. We all know it.

Come on, surely he's gotta go now. Can anyone even pretend he's doing a good job? We've been getting battered under him so many fecking times it doesn't even affect me any more.

Should never have been kept on after the FA cup win

Said before it we could have won 10-0 and I'd still want him sacked as the whole season was so awful

We've basically written this season off

The players have a lot to answer for but he absolutely has to go, tonight

I don't think RVN is the answer, and I absolutely DO NOT want Southgate, but ETH simply must go. Tonight.

That 0-3 defeat against Bournemouth was the first true sign of his ineptude adapting the game when the plan A failed to work.

We are 12th with -3 GD HAHAHAHAHA How could the likes of @VP89 defend this? Give Ten Hag til January we might at risk of relegation.

You are right... it isn't a surprise any more. That's how low we've fallen.

Think it was the right decision to stick with him after last season due to injuries and FA cup win but we have a decent squad now. Theres no excuse. I think we will be gone as soon as they can get someone else through the door. Question is whether he will be gone regardless and an interim appointed.

Clubs don’t recover from such poor starts without a change. Given we can’t change the players with fit ones coming back, it has to be him. They were all there today and watched us getting demolished again. He’s gone and probably tonight.

Keep him much longer and any distant hope of the top 4 will be gone before the end of October. My only fear is INEOS will go for Southgate.

I actually don’t feel like he’s close to being sacked though :o

Before ETH, these sort of results were a massive shock. Started becoming more and more normal in the late days of Ole and now it happens multiple times a season under ETH. Yet we do absolutely nothing about it.

Happened enough for us to sweep a 7-0 loss to fecking LIverpool under the rug. Get rid already!

Watched it on TV and the atmosphere came over as one of those where the end is inevitable. If he somehow does continue then you really do start to doubt the decision makers.

It objectively wasn't the right decision to stick with him if he's now on the verge of the sack before the end of September. That's not an opinion. It was the wrong call. Objectively.

Statement from Ineos backing ETH to turn around our fortunes because we are skint coming in 1, 2, 3……..

God knows what happens now but I do know that I can't watch any more of this. Man, I've been patient but enough is enough. We need a new manager.

Can anyone provide the logic of bringing on Mount instead of Casemiro when Bruno got his red?

Case better offensive threat
Case better passer
Case more of a goal scoring threat
Case more defensive bite
Plus, Case would’ve still had Ugarte behind him to cover for his carelessness.

Mount better pressing, but do you really want to press down a man.

And to make the change with just a couple of minutes before halftime instead of waiting for the second half makes no sense. Even the Argie announcers here is South
America were perplexed by this.

Result: Mount completely useless which everyone knew he would be. Case when he finally came on in another bizarre change had a couple decent scoring chances.

Make this make sense. Even seemed like it was more logical to leave Kobe on instead of bringing on Mount. Mainoo looked pissed off coming off.

It's easier to go after Ten Hag but we also need to look at Margaret the cleaner, is she getting those toilets done quickly enough? Someone said she had three cigarette breaks the other day, is she efficient enough for the club to move forward?

I hear the recent England manager is refreshed and ready for a new challenge. Oh dear God….

It’s inevitable at this point. I was ETH out last season but understood why he was given time after the cup win but enough is enough. Thanks for the cup but we can’t continue like this and throw a full season away

To let him stay during the summer and then allowed to sign 2 former players and another Dutch player on top. INEOS are just as clueless as the Glazers. Should have been sacked and fresh ideas brought in, where the club supply the signings to a coach.

We now have a horrendously bad team and because of FFP have no way of sorting it out fast. What a mess that has been created once again.

At the very least sack the manager and get one in that can create a press and ball retention. Put players in the correct position, take the captaincy off Bruno. Stop playing Rashford and Bruno. Only then might we able to salvage the season.
