It's not the wages I think they would be wary of. They are feckin shiteThey wouldn't go anywhere near those three as they simply couldn't afford their wages.
After the performances they've put in this season, I agreeIt's not the wages I think they would be wary of. They are feckin shite
He’s not representing Dortmund, he’s representing HaalandDortmund: We made it clear to Raiola that we want to keep Haaland

I belong to a few forums & slagging off your own players is quite a popular pastime. The enjoyment some fans get from slagging off United players on this forum is disturbing.
I still don't see who can logically buy this guy beyond City and maybe Chelsea. Neither us nor Barca have the funds (without sacrificing our entire budget+), Madrid have an aging squad in need of much more refreshing and PSG have Mbappe. Anyone else not mentioned simply wouldn't try to pull of a transfer of this scale.
Its ridulous. Its a fanbase infested with *****The enjoyment some fans get from slagging off United players on this forum is disturbing.
The circus has already started it seems and will only increase in the following months and stay there for years to come. I really like the player but I am starting to prefer United not being part of this circus.
Anyway, I believe we will get involved, monitor, hold talks, ... but not buy him.
Just get Grealish/Sancho instead. Our record with expensive / record breaking British (and Irish) players is excellent anyway.
You realize it's not him visiting clubs, but his agent/father? No idea why they would need permission from Dortmund.Regardless of whether he visits us or not, this is absolutely ridiculous on a professional level, unless of course he has permission from Dortmund.
Imagine Mbappe mid season just flying about to prospective buyers.
Kane will be 28 in July so his next club will get him at 28. So you'll get him, realistically speaking, for 5 years as well. Except in this hypothetical scenario he'd be more expensive with zero resale value. Probably higher wages as well.
The only thing in favour of Kane is the intangible of 'stability' and I'm not sure that's a strong enough argument for the tremendous extra cost. Especially as that stability hinges on two assumptions: that Kane is not yet past his peak - which he might be, Shearer had his best season at 26, Van Nistelrooy at 27 - and that Haaland will start angling for another move in three years.
And also, 130m! Disregarding Haaland for a moment: I wouldn't want Kane at that price at all. That smells like a Barcelona transfer. One of those that took them to the edge of bankruptcy, like Griezmann or Coutinho.

If an offer of 150m+ comes in, it absolutely would be madness not to sell. You could also argue it would be economic madness to actually offer that much, if he's available for way less only a year later. All you have to do is convince Haaland to stay an extra year, and probably pay him some of the difference between the two sums as a signing bonus. Obviously if Haaland is really set in leaving this summer, he will just go to another club. Although I doubt he will be that indifferent about which club to join, so if for instance he really wants to go to Madrid but they make it clear they want him to wait another year, is he really going to push for a move to Chelsea/City or PSG? He could but I think he will have clear preferences as to where he wants to go, and if those clubs know that, they could possibly sway him to stay. I imagine a lot of it comes down to if Dortmund miss out on CL.They went to Barca to put pressure on Madrid. No doubt about it. That's why they went first. I don't see Barca as serious contenders because of the economic restrictions they have. Meeting with PL teams is just to drive the price up. I only see City being serious contenders at that price point anyway. I think he is 100% Madrid bound. They need a statement signing, and Haaland is it. Dortmund should absolutely sell Haaland this summer. It's 150M+ this summer, probably 150M basic plus 30m more in variables, or 75M flat next summer. From an economic perspective, it would be madness not to sell him this summer. They are losing him one way or another. As much as I would love it, I don't see United as serious contenders. The money just isn't there. And after the last few years, we have less to offer in terms of silverware than City or Madrid, so we'd have to pay more than either would be willing to in terms of wages and fee. It's just not going to happen.
All this leads you to believe that if Dortmund see sense and sell Haaland this summer, they won't sell Sancho too. So our choice here is simple, tie up a deal for Sancho NOW, pre-empt the summer moves and potentially scupper other clubs moves for Haaland, or shift targets completely. Because if we chase Sancho, and Haaland is on the move, we will (a) not be able to get him at anything resembling a decent price because Dortmund will have no imperative to sell anymore, or (b) not be able to get him at all. In short that means our target right now should be Grealish, and we should be doing everything we can to advance that deal right now.
This to me seems like basic strategic planning, but not something I feel the club have been particularly good at in recent times. We'll likely chase Haaland, fail, switch to Sancho, realise a deal is no longer possible; switch to Grealish and be late to the party and have to grossly overpay because it's so late, and due to pandemic losses likely miss out. Finally, end up with Zaniolo for 30M and have another square peg in a round hole.

That they're stirring things up and that Dortmund can't like it is another thing.
dortmund knew the situation they’d be in when they accepted the release clause. Haaland was always using them as a stepping stone.Must of read it wrong! Still, the point stands, I don’t think it’s the right way to go about things.

Sancho would suit us better as he would make the RW position his own without us changing anything to accommodate him.Which one do you think out of those two would suit us better

My preference would be Grealish, he could rotate with Rashford/Martial/Bruno or we play him in a midfield 3 with Bruno and a new DM.
I would be fine with either but would not be shocked if we don’t make a big signing at all.
Well that plus 127m on a player likely only with us for 3-4 years is just silly planning.I would hope we just take a stance, turn Raiola away from the door, and dont even have the phone call last longer than a single minute.
Oh no doubt but I can’t remember the last time I felt less confident about us signing a player than I feel with Haaland.Haaland would replace Martial and score 30 goals without any change to the way we play. The difference is that Haaland would attack everything in and around the box whereas Martial spend the entire match trying to isolate the opposition right back into a one on one just outside the area.
Its Woodward. He'll put aside his dignity, and will be desperate to make us seem competitive and viable in the race by dripfeeding nonsense to journalists, only to make a £60million offer in instalments on deadline day.I would hope we just take a stance, turn Raiola away from the door, and dont even have the phone call last longer than a single minute.
why not? it is the club's responsibility to convince the player this is the best place for his career, development and also compensation. I am sure Lewandoski stay in Bayern is not because he "loves" the club, but it is the best place for him for his career. So you would be happy for our players agents to do this?
