Erling Haaland

If he's sensible he will be wary of the Spanish giants, both are at the beginning of a rebuild. Does he want to spend 5 years waiting for that? It leaves a PL club as his best option.

On our side we have a manager he likes, our name, and money. Downside - we are a project.

City have the manager, the current success, and even more money. Downside - they have a poor reputation and Guardiola could be off soon.

Chelsea have the CL trophy. Downside - are they big enough for him?

Liverpool have the name and recent success, but I doubt they could afford him.

You need to calm down abit man, when did I ever say he has caused long term injury to Haaland which ended his career? Don’t try to be an assuming prick and put words into my mouth for things I’ve never said. All I am saying here is, Keane has deliberately m trying to seek revenge and intentional trying to break Haaland’s leg, as he has admitted in his autobiography. They are surely not on good terms!

As a good son, moving to his father enemy’s club surely wouldn’t be top priority for him, and that’s the whole point here. Blame Keane as much as you like , don’t blame the readers!
 what a load of fecking tosh.

So the question is are the current CL holders a big enough club ?

He did reject us for Dortmund though. One could always guess why, but moving to United surely wasn’t his top priority last time :)
Yeah, because by joining Dortmund he was able to get guaranteed minutes in a competitive league and in the CL to suit his development. He's also stuck a really favourable release clause in there so he can literally pick the team of his choice next summer. If Utd represent an attractive option (title/CL challengers, huge money, attacking team etc.) next year do you really think he won't join because of the Keane-Haaland Snr. thing?

No Real Madrid rebuild takes that long, Haaland once his release clause kicks in and Mbappe on a free both in 12 months time and you're looking at arguably the best attack in world football again and even if they're not challenging for the UCL they'll always challenge for La Liga as showed in the past two seasons when they've been garbage

He didn't feel the club wanted him, only Ole- who was really close to being sacked at that moment.
He probably saw United as to big a step also, beeing a 19-year old, moving from Austria Bundesliga.

This thing that Erling will reject us because Roy Keane tackled his father 20 years ago::wenger:

But why does he want to move to Spain? He is built and his game is more suited to Northern European football.

That’s one way of thinking it, but that’s all from our speculation only.
I think he might still be considering joining us, but we won’t be his top priority, due to lack of trophy. He has better options out there, and of course his father might hate him to join us. Would you join a company where they have someone who represent them dissing and hurting your fathers before? I surely wouldn’t, unless I am running out of options.

Unfortunately I just can’t think of a reason as to why he would choose Utd over Chelsea, City, Barca....

If Chelsea are that determined and their offer of £170m is true, then I think he may go for it. Though I guess the type contract would not be very straight forward.

like, how?

His physicality will be even more accentuated in La Liga

He would have a much harder time outmuscling the more physical PL wouldnt he?

Every player wants to play for Real or Barca
Every player want to play for lot of money. Not real or barca. Mbappe Neymar even wijnaldum didn't want to go there.

I don't know any player reduce their wage demand and goto real/barca just because they want to play for them because they are more than just club. They want to goto real/barca because they give away huge salary for players.

Players have short careers and want to earn as much as possible. One bad injury will really make their future into question mark.

I don't believe in real/barca pull anymore especially they are begging for more money by inventing super league and desperate for it. Recently asked players to reduce their wages for making up their loss.

So ultimately money matters not real/barca pull. It's just a myth anyway.

Well two issue. 1) He cannot use his physicality to such an extent as he will get penalised for it in Spain. 2) He isn't as technically good as strikers like Benzema who typically do the best in Spain.

Mbappe isn't signing a new contract as he wants to go to Madrid
Neymar desperately tried to get a return to Barca

You're talking nonsense if you think suddenly Real or Barca don't still have the same pull as they did

Real/barca pull is just more money nothing other than that. United have more pull than real/barca at present scenario. Because nowadays united can match any thing barca/real can offer.

Ronaldo signed for them because he wanted to play for them but how much he reduced his wage to join real. Yes real had big pull but only he increased his weekly wages tripled.

Hazard went to Madrid because childhood dream but only doubled his wages by joining real. Coutinho Suarez they all signed for them but wage doubled tripled. How can I view it money pull or real/barca pull.

Neymar ran away from barca to Psg and his wage doubled. Now he uses barca card to increase his wage further by signing new contract. Mbappe too will sign extention in my opinion once his wage demand met.

Is it Psg pull or money pull? Because Neymar ran away from barca the more than club. There is nothing but money not that real/barca pull nonsense.

Are relaxed about the situation….

I was saying in the Sancho thread that if we get him I think it gives us a better chance of landing Haaland especially if the Spanish clubs are skint. Ole and Sancho should be a big draw for him. Pity about his agent.

There's no way his release clause is 65m which is probably the reason Dortmund is relaxed about him not leaving this summer.

Plus 170m is money out of his fat agents etc wallet next year. They won't want to go now.
Dortmund arent turning down 170m so when this doesnt go through we should blacklist every journo who pushes this nonsense.

Why would his agent miss out on anything? Raiola would get his fee either way, whether Haaland is sold this summer or next.

Probably have hidden it the same way they did with Sancho's contract extension.

Its widely been reported that there is a clause around that which is active next summer, which is why United never pushed the deal because they didn’t want the clause. Dortmund agreed to it, no matter what happens they will still be making like a 50 million profit depending on how much they paid in agent fees.

I've also seen reports indicate it's closer to 100m which means the number hasn't been disclosed to journalists.

Itll be a higher percentage if he leaves for 70 odd million compared to 175m now. Most of the difference will end up in their pockets in terms of signing on fees etc. Think of how much a player and his entourage profits from a free transfer. Its the same idea

If he’s gettable for Chelsea and we want him then i think we also have a pretty good shot. The problem is we are up against clubs who get deals done quite efficiently whereas we’d probably be happy to try and haggle for 2 years. Mino is big minus to the transfer too. I doubt there’s a huge appetite at the club to keep working with him.

I think Chelsea's finances are quite different from ours, making him far more realistic for them this summer. They've also got a relatively modest net spend recently, despite the big spend last summer, due in part to selling some unwanted players and fleecing Real for a year-left-on-his-deal-soon-to-be-perma-crock Hazard.

Yeah it’s cause United generates clicks. The reality is that nothing is happening and journalists are producing clickbait with vague stories linking us to players. Then the fans get frustrated with the club over something they weren’t even involved in. I’m barely paying attention to it any more.

Don’t think we have a chance to get him even though I would love him here, he probably looks at Chelsea buying all that talent and thinks it would be an easier ticket than United and I don’t blame him if he does.

What talent? Werner? If Utd buy Sancho i would put our last few windows against theirs any day. Anybody signing Haaland would have the superior talent recrutiment anyway

I mean , we have the no1 chance creator in the league in Bruno, we have Pogba, and seems to be getting Sancho which already has made him alot of goals...

Yeah. Playing with Rashford, Bruno, Pogba, Greenwood and Sancho...be a miracle he’d get more than 6 goals a season.
