Erling Haaland or Jadon Sancho?

Which player would represent a better signing for United in January?

It depends on the formation we want. Players should be picked for their position. Honestly I would prefer an athletic DM.

Scholes was spot on when he said we needed a centreforward more than we needed Sancho.

Neither. But would Haaland be any cheaper than Sancho? I suppose there's the English tax but regardless, top young striker, he'll cost a lot.

A constant reminder, we still don't have a starting first team quality RW after all these years.

True, but honestly the asking price for Sancho is just too steep imo. Besides, hes only ever been in Dortmund and is unproven in the PL. If he failed here he would not be the first and that would be an utter catasrophy if we spent north of 100 million on him

Neither, We have better players at the club already and the two mentioned players are way over priced.
Who do we have that's 'better' than Haaland? Given that he's an out and out goalscorer/predator and we have a few players who prefer to operate wide then cut in.

Haaland 100%

Sancho is a good player but overrated imho and certainly never worth the 120m dortmund were asking so I for one was glad we didnt spunk that much money on him. However, its all a mute point as I dont think Haaland would join us...he's bound for a madrid/barca type club. Or.....heavens forbid.....aguero's replacement at city :nervous:

Martial was the best striker in the league after the restart but now a lot of our fans want to bin him. Crazy.

But that's just typical Martial, blows hot and cold. I said it in another thread, if martial doesnt better his goal tally from last season (17) then we should bin him. 6 years of hoping he's going to turn out to be a decent striker ffs, its too much dithering.

From the outside I think you need Haaland way more than Sancho.
With Rashford, Martial and Greenwood you have 3 players how are somewhat similar to Sancho, but none of them is a real number 9.

Also, Sancho is a bit overhyped in England I think. He is very good, no doubt, but he needs a completely functioning team to shine. He doesn't light up the sky all by myself like for example Dembele did for Dortmund.
Additionally Sancho doesn't seem to be the most professional guy, he often came too late to training, was caught partying etc.

Seeing both players every week I wouldn't think twice and buy Haaland if I would be your manager haha

Somewhat similar is a bit of a stretch i would say. All 3 are strikers maybe not traditional number 9's but they're not exactly wingers either, certainly not Martial and Greenwood. Personally i don't think any of them can effectively operate and provide the creativity from the right that Sancho could provide. I do think Haaland will be the better player of the two but Sancho would make United a more balanced team.

not voting in this, i'll wait a few seasons until its been bumped and edited to read, ''who do you dislike more?'' City's Haaland or Liverpool's Sancho ?:(

Martial is 24 and last season was the first season he got to play up front all season and he scored 23-24 goals.

If he doesn't get 20 plus goals this season yeah we should look at phasing him out, Greenwood will play there eventually and replace him.

I'd go for Sancho.
Factoring in longevity and the balance it would give to our attack, a proper creative and goal scoring RW is absolutely essential, we haven't really had one since Nani...!!

Haaland would bugger off in a couple of years I reckon, and if that's the case, we might just have well signed him last Summer for €20m and inserted the €75m release clause that he wanted.

Haaland looks like the one player that every single club in world football will be trying to sign when he becomes available. Strikers are in short supply and he looks like the next great striker in world football. I don't think it's a close comparison.

Haaland will be off to Madrid next. We missed our chance to sign him and would be beyond stunned if he ever comes now.

I prefer Haaland but Sancho would make more sense for you since you already have many strikers.

Am convinced we would win the league with Haaland in our team.

I would rather have Rashford or Mason or Martial in my team as they are multi functional players.
Haaland reminds me of Lukaku whom would score for fun in the Bundesliga but even then I would not want him back at the club I support.

Haaland - Raiola

Sancho - I am getting a feeling of galatico signing which I rarely feel excited about. He might come with extra package which we could do with out. I would rather have some one from Academy with half the talent but double the commitment.

So Greenwood (Facundo + Amad ) it is.

Neither will be attainable in Jan, but i've gone for Haaland.

The guy is an immense goalscorer - something we dont have.

We are likely to go all in for Sancho in the summer though

Hard pick but I''d go with Sancho. Last generation we've seen many footballers being world class in almost all aspects of attacking football (goal scoring, dribbling, play making) and Sancho has the potential to become such a player, too. Haaland not so much, IMO. He could become an all time great goal scorer but his passing and dribbling is rather average.

Haaaland has the biggest shot-on-target% and chancesxGoals in football. It doesn't matter if the opposition is the local pubteam or Bayern Munich , he will score a goal nearly every single game he plays.

I want Jadon Sancho here desperately, but Haaland is a player that chooses a simple pass on a 2v1 to put his teammate on open net rather than shoot himself to secure a hattrick.. so I'll take Haaland. But next summer he's going to cost ALL the money, so that won't happen.

Haaland is far more mobile, two footed and intelligent than Lukaku

With Martial, Rashford and Greenwood we have goals, but they're all similar in terms of being players who are more like inverted wingers. Greenwood of course looks like he'll develop into a top no.9, but Haaland is just a freak of nature, and is already a WC striker.

I can see him surpassing Ronaldo's CL goal haul if he joins a team that consistently gets to the latter stages. For me, Sancho isn't as unique as Haaland in the sense of pure goalscorers are the hardest to come by. We'd have to fight off a lot of competition for him, City should be all over him to replace Aguero. Madrid, Bayern will surely come sniffing too.

It is so hard because we need a right winger much more than a striker and Sancho is clearly a bloody excellent player. That said, Haaland could make the difference for a half decent team contending for a league title. He reminds me of Ruud in that he scores goals so easily whilst other players make it look so difficult.

I love Sancho and think he's an exceptional player. Sancho would bring us creativity and a goal threat from the right side. Haaland however, well, he's already in the top tier of strikers and looks nailed on in this form to be the best in the world. That's not exagerating his form, the goals he scores, the ability, the arrogance, he's got it all. What impresses me most about him is despite being a top, top striker he's not selfish either. He's a beast.

Fitting him into our team would result in dropping Martial back to wide forward or rotation CF, but I don't think that's a problem ultimately. Maybe it would be for Martial himself, but it might also push his game on.

Doesn't Haaland have a relatively low release clause?

It makes sense to prioritise him over Sancho and spend the rest of our budget on a DM, and CB, especially when we have bought Diallo for our right wing, yes he's unproven but for the money we have invested he should be a top tier talent and at the same time Greenwood and him can still share plenty of game time.

Haaland, he's basically Ronaldo in the second half of his career. He just scores non stop purely through determination, physical ability and lethal finishing.
