Let's pay up for his clause now. Nothing stopping us right?
Bloody hell you muppet Ole coached him for a whole season at Molde. We were in for him but the kid chose Dortmund because
1. it is a much better prospect for his career. He's seen Sancho and Pulisic, Lewa and Auba. This is inarguable. We weigh down young players with unrealistic expectations and at this point in a mediocre team Erling Halaand's head would be first on the chopping block every time we lose.
2. United didn't want to give Raiola free reign.

instead this works perfectly. He goes to Dortmund, probably scores 50+ goals over the next couple of years, at which point Dortmund get the initial amount they paid, plus the wages back, and a bit on top of that. For them it’s almost like a loan deal where they’ll likely come out of it in profit. But for that reason I can also see why United weren’t interested.
33+25, not counting injury time.Isn't it 45 minutes + 25 minutes ?
Excellent postSums up how gullible a lot of this fanbase is. Woodward briefed the press that 'we backed out because we were never going to be held hostage'. These deluded fans are treating that as gospel and chest-thumping because 'we are not a stepping stone'.
What they're failing to comprehend is if there is any truth in those briefings then we basically snubbed one of the hottest properties in a position we desperately needed strengthening... for pride. And now we're scraping the barrel in the search for a short term option in that very position. Where's that pride now?
For what it's worth I think the reality is that he rejected us, not the other way around. I hope most people can see right through this face saving embarrassment from the specialist in failure.
There were rumors out here that stated we rejected him because of the stipulation were he could be sold for 60m in two years.
The best choice would be United. We have better training facilities, sport equipment and coaches....Yea, maybe you are right. At this moment, he might have rejected us..But, still our manager is Norwegian and Haland is Norwegian..That must account for something when trying to lure his attention
I honestly think you just see what you want to see.For what it's worth I think the reality is that he rejected us, not the other way around. I hope most people can see right through this face saving embarrassment from the specialist in failure.

Jesus, I just hope he somehow flops so we don't have to hear all this tedious bickering and snarky comments for the next 5 years.
He made the best move for his career at this point in time. Him, his dad and agent are going to cash out big time in 18 months.
Spot on. I think this going to be a trend and I can already see how many players refuse to extend their contracts in order to control their careers. Mind you, you’re going to have to be a top player in order to be able to get top clubs to accede to your demands....You're going to find fewer elite superstars signing long term contracts with clubs without exit clauses unless you offer them astronomical contracts. Players and their agents are not going to allow the transfer market to be dictated by £100m+ transfer fees, when the alternative is for them to absorb the income by carefully holding the balance of power by signing selective contracts.
His goals to minutes ratio is pretty sorted.
What are you up to these days, I heard United are in a need for DOF...
No wonder FC Martial didnt want him here.
Ridiculous. In a perfect world we take him in 18 months for that low clause. Just got to sort things out in the mean time.
He hasn't even played 17 full games

We should probably be looking at this guy as well, Shon Weissman, stats just as good as Erling and without the Raiola circus, would probably cost only a fraction of the price and no release clause demand.
A goal every 91 minute isn't just as good as a goal every 46 minutes, is it?just as good as Erling
The difference is extreme. One is the best goal per minute ratio ever and the other one is just very good.A goal every 91 minute isn't just as good as a goal every 46 minutes, is it?
If he’s got a release clause and he’s really so good can we not just buy him in summer?
