Erik ten Hag vs Sancho | Sancho back in full training

He's just got too much ego, and not enough brains. He's an idiot for burning his bridges with the club so easily. He's been given every chance to be a success here and backed well. His loss. He just couldn't hack it here, I'm still baffled by how badly its gone wrong.

There were some using the Sancho situation as a stick to beat ten Hag with, where are they now? Ten Hag rightfully called the petulant little shit out for his poor attitude.

Still some fans backing Sancho. Taken the club for a ride and when the manager stamps down it's his fault the players don't perform apparently.

Its quite clear whats gone wrong, like you say too much ego, not enough brains.

Apparently, he told Ten Hag he is the wrong person for right side and prefers left side, which is the start of the issues.

Is this Ten Hag's fault or the club? surely after chasing a player for 2 seasons, you would know what position is his best? I mean we were clearly looking for a RW.

Then he didn't want to press in training, we have seen in games he doesn't like pressing and tracking back either.

He is clearly not very well informed and comes across very deluded about his abilities.

This is exactly what any sane person looking at the situation presumed had happened. I can't understand how Sancho is justifying his behaviour then, and his behaviour since to himself. How badly advised is he that his parents, or agent, or mates haven't told him to wind his neck in and stop acting the prick?

Absolute clown who I cannot wait to see the back of. Everything about him sums up what's been wrong at the club for the last 10 years.

I think it's been clear from the second he or whoever did the social media post, he's surrounded himself with utter idiots who tell him he's gods gift to football.

If there ain't serious bids and now that INEOS are controlling all football matters, could they force ETH to use him ?
Maybe not force ETH to use him, but perhaps have him training with the squad. If he's problematic amongst the group then have him train with the reserves. Not Sancho related but the way in which it's normalised in football to cast a player to to train on their own or with kids as a long term punishment isn't a good reflection on football in general. Serious disciplinary actions are one thing but it's too common a thing in my opinion.

We should only permit a loan move in the January window for him, keep an incentive for him to take a permanent transfer if one presents in the summer. If he doesn't leave, make him train with the U18's and no game time. Might take another season but he'll go eventually.

I don’t think he is the kind of character we will force out like that, he’ll just take his huge wage and sit at home. We’d end up losing him for free.

I think we have to call his bluff though, we can't encourage underperformers to stay at United where they are safe in the knowledge that they'll get a loan move each year. He needs to sit out for 6 months and then go on loan to recoup some of his wages and potentially build interest for the summer.

Sounds like he surrounded himself with CAF muppets. Where was the "Sancho or Messi" thread back then, anyway?

Exactly. Ten Hag is faultless in this fiasco in my humble opinion. This situation is all Sancho.
Being paid a weekly amount of money that the average fan would have to break their back for years for and then refusing to work because ‘apologizing is not for the streets’.

If Benni McCarthy didn’t lie then that’s utterly pathetic, we are well rid of him, and I speak as someone who think he’s an incredibly talented footballer.

Agree. It will mean taking a financial hit but having a “no dickheads” culture has to start somewhere.
You’d think that having the Summer off, when he should have been tearing it up at the Euros, would make him reflect. Can’t see it though.

You do wonder how much our underperformers reflect on missing out on international tournaments (and achieving anything of note in general). Their careers are short and there won't be many chances. Sancho and Rashford broke into the England side many years ago, but have played themselves out of it to the point that younger players have taken their places. Those younger players might be more driven to keep their places too.

If the owners are backing ten Hag then they need to show it. Take 35-40m and move on. Casemiro needs to go, and young, hungry players need to be brought in. He has shown he works well with young players.

It’s funny because before all of this he had his personal issues that we gave him 6 months off for. Everyone of those seemed to have forgotten about this. He’s a ungrateful prick and he needs to leave this club permanently

I clearly don't rate Sancho, on the basis on what he's done here, so I might be biased, but do you really think someone would pay £35m for him?

I think this is almost a situation where even the interested clubs wouldn't want to pay a fee for him. We've had a few players like that in recent years. I'm sure there would be a few clubs that might be ok with a loan, but that's very different to a transfer fee and a 4-5 year deal.

Yeah it wont happen without him taking a pay cut, even then its an opening price that we wouldn't reach.
He seems kind of entitled, I wouldn't expect him to be too cooperative or for the threat of sitting at home doing nothing to be much of a threat. So a chunk of that transfer will go to him.

He turned up overweight for his first season, took him months to get to the level were he could get through a game. Plenty of talent, has never shown the mentality you would want for this club should be.

I would have thought so after his performances in the Champions League. Apologies, I was thinking in Euros, I’m Irish. So just shy of £30m.

Very few clubs can afford his wages & Sancho doesn't seem the type to take a pay cut.

Don't search for "Sancho Villa" on twitter at work. Doubt we'd sell or loan to within the league but the number of teams who'd pay anywhere near the wages he's on now is low.

I still believe that ETH is not good for Man Utd, he is a bad manager, and he has been and remains a liability for our club. The players of this club are the assets of this club, ETH is just a liability.

The manager has to find a way to get more value for each asset, that's the definition of a good manager for any type of business. ETH is the opposite of that. He has destroyed the value of the assets of this club. A manager who buys high (Antony et al), or sells low (Sancho) is not a good manager.

Even if Sancho is not good enough for Man Utd and should be sold, the handling by ETH was that of a really bad, petulant manager. I understand that some fans see the whole situation as a "manager vs players" war, and prefer to support the manager against the players. However, this is by definition just another failure of this bad manager. The manager and the players are not antagonists, they are members of the same team.

Again, in any business, not just football, a manager who creates situations "manager vs subordinates" is a bad manager, who is usually covering his own inadequacies. ETH is such a bad manager. I am afraid we will just lose another year with him, and he will leave the team in the worst state of the last 10 years.

Believe what you want.

I believe you are wrong on just about everything in this post.

Ferguson was a bad manager then. Huh.

Garnacho and Mainoo’s valuation increase is way higher than Sancho and Antony’s decrease…. Would you agree he’s net positive.

Hopefully this thread can be closed in the next month.

Sell him to anyone who is stupid enough to bid for him.

Selling him to Newcastle would be ideal, really. Another reason to hate that club, and probably one of the few teams that can both pay a decent fee and afford his wages.
