Erik ten Hag vs Sancho | Sancho back in full training

Nope, he was dropped for ‘not training well enough’, which is his job - hence he was dropped for being crap at his job.

ETH then chose to announce this publicly to the World - which, again, is fine, but then he didn’t like it when Sancho responded publicly.

If ETH hadn’t publicly put Sancho down, Sancho obviously wouldn’t have responded publicly (as there wouldn’t have been anything to respond to).

As I said multiple times, feck Sancho off, I couldn’t care. But the way ETH has handled this doesn’t give off the aura of a confident hard ass, it gives off the aura of a petty man.

If he can’t handle public response, then don’t dig players out individually publicly - in the present day and age, they will respond.
Ten Hag is fine with the public response; it’s Sancho who has been the little bitch.

Sancho probably feels Antony sucks just as bad and continues to start for ETH so he spoke out. I think Sancho isn't bothered if he plays or not, he will continue to pick up his wages until a new club comes in with a bid. Even if no clubs come for him, he will pretty that someone will sign him once he leaves on a free transfer. I think ETH will accept him back if he apologises but Sancho is too proud to admit that he is wrong. I think the drama stops here, he will be sold once a club submits a decent bid. Nothing to see here, Sancho is probably somewhere having fun partying until the international break is over.
If he thinks that, he’s delusional. How many times did Sancho just walk and watch his man race away from him without even putting in any effort? Every time this thread gets bumped I’m hoping the little cumstain has been sold.

The player has taken a lot of flak but the fact is that we've got a world class player at his peak who isnt even allowed to use the canteen or the first team changing areas and that doesnt reflect well on the coaching staffs ability to man-manage, especially considering how mediocre the team is. Dortmund got consistent top class performances out of him so we know that others have succeeded where our people have clearly failed. God knows how they would have handled Neymar.

You are deluded. Every point you made is wrong

At what point in the two and a bit seasons between his signing for United and not being allowed to use the canteen has he demonstrated that he’s a world class player at his peak?

We’ve seen a few flashes of skill, and a bit of evidence that he’s good at digging the ball (and himself) out of tight spaces. Some nice finishes also. So it’s not been all bad.

But he’s not remotely displayed the drive or consistency to be labelled a remotely successful PL player. World class? Come on!

And while I absolutely agree that joining a dysfunctional United won’t have done him any favours, he had plenty of opportunities in his early United days (and indeed at Dortmund) to display his world class talents on the international stage playing for England. He was every bit as underwhelming for them.

World class player at his peak

could never even break into the england team

We throw out the term "world class" around too lightly. Sancho was a very good winger for Dortmund, but no way was he considered one of the very best in his position.

Bizarre summary, imo. You'd have a point if this was a one off issue, like Rashford arriving late for a meeting and ending up on the bench rather than the starting lineup, and if Sancho's public response was logic. However, there's been off the pitch issues with Sancho for ages, to the point where he was sent to Holland to be under a strict training regime. ETH has been more than protective of Sancho in the past, when his behavior doesn't improve then sooner or later you'll reach a tipping point and the level of training, and response, prior to the Arsenal match was exactly that. ETH didn't put him down in public, didn't even hang him out to dry, it was fairly innocent, pretty much the complete opposite of Sancho accusing the manager of lying about the reasons behind him being punished.

You are absolutely correct. He should be a world class player at his peak now, but he clearly isn't. And while he might have never impressed for England he at least wasn't underwhelming for Dortmund in the CL. He had a slow start in that competition as a very young player and scored little, but his last Dortmund season resulted in 2G+3A in just 6 games (only 4 starts). That season indeed was very promising and on par with world class players, despite him actually having a slow start to the season and injury problems. United signed a young player who impressed in the BL for years, got into his stride in the CL and had just dragged Dortmund to a cup win. Expecting a world class player after that was totally justified, he had shown what's needed for that, he only had to prove it wasn't just a purple patch.

Yeah. He provides further evidence that nothing in football (or life) is guaranteed.

And I'm not having it that the reason he prospered in the BL was that German football is "more open". As I've already said, he's shown himself (though obviously not often enough) to be adept at dealing with crowded defences.

I dunno. By many accounts he's a lovely lad and up to the recent fallout everyone at United has been doing all they can to help him succeed.

The one thing anyone reliable keeps repeating (team mates) is that he's late a lot, and is aloof. Which sounds like a personality that would inevitably end up clashing with Ten Hag. He wouldn't be the first mercurial talent to be like that, nor the last. He might excell again under a different manager, but his personality no doubt clashes with Ten Hag, and probably clashed with Rangnick too.

It’ll be a loan with no option to buy then they’ll bring him back in the Summer under a new coach then go from there.

Strange how he has developed....always thought he would be a good choice for Bayern. If I knew he would play like in Dortmund I'd wish that wie buy him...

Indeed, I like Malen but he is not United level. Actually, he is but we need to do better.

Jadon Sancho: we should change the thread title to Sancho vs Sancho. He is his own worst enemy.

Please, lets never buy from that lot again! I don't care they look world class stars playing for them. Once they take the yellow shirt off and put the red on, they all become average players
Malen is an average player for them, that's why they would like to include him in this deal.

feck him for throwing his toys out of the pram for what was a fairly innocuous comment by Ten Hag. Clearly his ego is bigger than his desire to knuckle down and show his worth.

 at the actually he is. He is at least better than Martial & maybe "Professor" Rashy at the moment

He will be here until his contract runs out. At best he might get loaned out with Utd paying £250k of his gross £375k wage, but thats it. Utd cant affor to pay him off and the lazy ... wont want to lose the money.

Can you imagine Sancho putting in that performance out wide like Garnacho did? Tireless running at his man?
No need to imagine he did it multiple times for Dortmund in the Champions League against tougher competition.

I like Garnacho, I hope he kicks on but feck me.

Why hasn’t he ever done it for United? I really want him to do well. Is it possible the huge salary has affected his hunger?

PL is tougher, he isn’t committed enough to his profession, he can‘t cut it here.

If we have to continue paying him, lets make him the best paid ball boy in the world.

What kind of "world class player' that had 2 good games under 4 managers ?

Can’t tell you exactly, will be a multitude of reasons. Similarly to Depay, Pogba, Di Maria, I think if you played his United career over 10 times we’re probably looking at the worst version of it.

He’ll face similar criticisms those players faced on here, some justified, but these players seem to be capable of existing elsewhere winning things & competing in the Champions League. He’s young, he’ll go elsewhere & be fine, we’ll sign the next big thing then be back here again in a few years.

Under SAF you could bring in someone mecurial, like the multiple players we have done in the last decade & they had very little room to not fall in line. We sign these guys & seemingly have no plan to continue getting what we saw before out of them.

Maybe I should have qualified that with, for us.
I thought that’s what you meant tbf. For us he’s been terrible obviously.

This re-writing of his history like he’s some make-a-wish kid who Ole bought at a blind auction because it’s gone badly is certainly the vibe others are giving though.

Maybe Sancho needs to be babied. Fetch him to training so that he is on time. That level of hand holding. He is paid so much money. Can he not hire himself a butler/chauffer to help him manage his life? Seriously.

You joke but Dortmund literally had someone whose job it was to go and wake him up every morning to make sure he got to training on time.

Oh I was only half joking. I did recall he had that ridiculous level of support so I was just saying that he could self-help if being late is his only issue.
