A nothing tweet from someone who has no idea.
A nothing tweet from someone who has no idea.
Potential very good players:«The prices paid for players are indeed very high - but I am not responsible for that. The club did all the negotiations, including with very good potential players who didn't come in the end.»
Wow, how awful.
Its technically true, but I think its a bit disingenuous. If you keep insisting on a player even when the fees are unreasonably high, then you are somewhat accountable. Unless you think ETH was completely out of the loop during negotiations and only knew of the fees when the signing was completed? then okIf he’s saying that he’s not responsible for negotiating the transfer fees, then what’s so controversial about that? Seems more like Daily Mail using clickbait rage as per usual.
It's come from Romano who said it via YouTube.A nothing tweet from someone who has no idea.
I would say you are correctA nothing tweet from someone who has no idea.
The headline and the quote is misleading. ETH is referring to the price paid. He's right, he can say he wanted Antony but he wasn't the one saying we should pay £90m. Ultimately he probably doesn't really care about the value and just making sure he gets his target.WOW, the nerve
Sure, but he had to have known we were going to spend that much and yet he did nothing to object to it.The headline and the quote is misleading. ETH is referring to the price paid. Yeah, fuming here mate. Reminds me of the 80’s when we hired that Scottish loser. We were a top 4 team in all the previous 5 seasons before he came, and he took us to 11th, 2nd, 11t, 13th and 6th in his first 5 seasons, but had a couple of lucky cup runs so some people still defended him. Madness. If they keep him our descent into being a midtable club is here fully. Who cares how shit we look for the entire year as long as we have a lucky cup run right
Who is that?Regardless of what happens. Just not Tuchal if it's a new manager.
Thank you!If only we had standard-raisers like you in charge.
And here comes the other problem, people stuck in the 80s. Things aren't the same anymore people we can't keep longing for the SAF glory daysYeah, fuming here mate. ETH is not Fergie.Yeah, fuming here mate. Reminds me of the 80’s when we hired that Scottish loser. I can't help but continuously take this as an insult toward SAF.Yeah, fuming here mate. Reminds me of the 80’s when we hired that Scottish loser. YesIt's come from Romano who said it via YouTube.
He said he's staying and then ranted about something else.@TrebleChamp99 have you had any updates since let’s say Monday evening? I’m pretty sure he was sacked then according to your reports so any news on the replacement?
It doesn't matter apparently man. Let's just ignore the fact that it also is a different world out there than the 80sETH is not Fergie.
How many times does this need to be repeated in here?
Why should he object?Sure, but he had to have known we were going to spend that much and yet he did nothing to object to it.
Unless he wasn't aware of the fee, that implies that he agreed with the valuation? Why should he object?
If he wanted Antony at United I'm pretty sure he saw him as a potentially big player for us and himself, rather than a cheap squad player. We were lacking on the wing.
ETH is not at fault in any way for how much we paid for Antony. He's at fault for grossly misjudging Antony's ability and wanting him at all.
Last update was staying for now but we want Southgate. I'm thinking he's either full of it or somebody is having him on. Slight chance he's right and we want Southgate, which is terrifying.@TrebleChamp99 have you had any updates since let’s say Monday evening? That's a fair criticism but I don't think ETH cares as his role isn't there to ensure there is value for money.Sure, but he had to have known we were going to spend that much and yet he did nothing to object to it.
Because if he lives in the real world, he will realize that budget constraints exist and that every pound spent on one player is a pound that can't be spent on another player. Why should he object?

Yes, how he utilizes a player and tactical setup is his responsibility. But because it’s a Daily Mail clickbait, I think it’s all a storm in a teacup with their lazy journalism. Its technically true, but I think its a bit disingenuous. If you keep insisting on a player even when the fees are unreasonably high, then you are somewhat accountable. But that's short sided because better value for money means more positions improved which makes his job easier. That's a fair criticism but I don't think ETH cares as his role isn't there to ensure there is value for money.
Eriksen just doesn't seem like a club signing to me. We signed older player under Ed, but usually big names. We know Ten Hag really pushed for FDJ, when we signed Eriksen I'm sure it was reported that Ten Hag pushed for him as well. Why are you so sure Eriksen wasn't a club transfer?I agree Kane probably wasn't going to happen given how much we had to spend but it's been well reported he was EtH's first choice and as I said, to go from that profile of player to Hojlund doesn't make any sense from EtH's perspective.
I have done some more reading and it seems that EtH chose Hojlund out of several options including Kolo Muani and some others that were provided to him by the club. So I'm not sure if that makes him a club signing or an EtH signing. A bit of both I guess.
The decision was done for him to be sacked and it was irreversible and already settled. Then the next day he was staying@TrebleChamp99 have you had any updates since let’s say Monday evening? I’m pretty sure he was sacked then according to your reports so any news on the replacement?
Timber is brilliant to be fair. I haven’t seen him enough to suggest I’d rather him than Martinez as the fella is almost immediately one of my favourite players. But Timber is great. Will be huge for Arsenal next year.Potential very good players:
De Jong - Didn't want to come.
Arnautovic - Fans put a stop to it thankfully.
Brobbey - Chose Ajax thankfully.
Gakpo - Not been impressed at all, thankfully he's Liverpools problem.
Timber - Got lucky maybe as Martinez, our backup option, is probably better. Why ETH preferred Timber I don't know.
He's a different type of player though, with Martinez being the better at distribution from the back. Which is something that ETH has said is critical to his football. What would he have done if he got his first choice in Timber?Timber is brilliant to be fair. I think if that was the case the wouldnt have dragged it this longHe's staying isn't he.....
Needs some better excuses next season.
And our play needs to be more than "oooh they missed, quick let's break!"
Thank you, how could I survive without your complements?I love posts like this. They’re so clever.
He is a bluffer. Spouted what seemed the most obvious then. Think he also hinted in one of the posts that it would be Mckenna and then the next day it was announced Mckenna was extending with Ipswich.Last update was staying for now but we want Southgate. I'm thinking he's either full of it or somebody is having him on. Slight chance he's right and we want Southgate, which is terrifying.
