I can't see any issue either. His English would improve if he moved to England anyway.
It is ridiculous that so many posts have been wasted on it, goes to show what people value in managers on here.
Indeed. He's fine. If the day comes when we are looking to replace Ole, it's coaching ability that I would hope the club would prioritize - Ten Hag has that in abundance.
His accent is the same as Steve McLaren.
Also keep in mind that he speaks English all the time at Ajax right, all team meetings/trainings are in English due to quite some international players, so he is apparently very capable aswell in communicating in English towards the team..
Ole could learn alot from this guy....a proper style of play, attractive attacking football...

It was a boring side that struggled in Europe results wise (also some poor luck), but also were brave at times in Europe. He did well to win the league four times in a row whilst rebuilding, at the same time it says something about PSV and Feyenoord back then.
However fans were complaining whilst winning these titles because the "brand of football" wasnt good enough. His man management kinda only works in Holland and with young kids, and he's a big name in football. Comparing Erik Ten Hag with Frank de Boer as a manager is a bit of comparing Bruno Fernandes with Bebe as a player...
Just wait for the Louis van Gaal comparisons if Eric Ten Haag becomes United manager.
Well I guess they both classify as succesful Ajax managers, so I do get it somehow but it is just very lazy.

I actually really like Ajax as a club, but I wonder if they would be open to letting him go mid-season, if his contract was paid out. With how well they are run, they probably have another great coach around the corner just waiting for his opportunity anyway.
Alternatively, Van Bommel became available just today! He's also Dutch, so there can't be much of a difference.
Why would they, they dont need the money. They know how important Ten Hag is. And no, Ajax can't just conjure a new top manager. Before Ten Hag they hadn't won the league in 4 years, Ten Hag was their 4th manager in 2 years time.
So unlike us they don't hang onto managers who have failed hoping they'd strike gold eventually.
Ya, I don't think we would push through with it even if Ten Hag was willing mid-season due to our supposed good relations with Ajax anyway. If there is any chance of us getting him, I guess it'll be at the end of the season

Best logic ever, give any mug enough time and money and eventually they'll be as good as two of the best. Only United would give a man with no CV 400m quid with no trophy to show after 3 years and hand him a contract extension.
Tbh I think backing the manager is ok as long as you don't do it on sentiment. Sir Alex and Klopp both had a really solid league record(both breaking the dominance of the domestic giants) and a great European one. With these 2 you could see that they knew what they were doing based of previous experience.
Ten Hag is similar. So backing him is a no brainer.

None of them had the level of success that Ten Hag has had at Ajax. Dutch league success and Champions League success, with great football like they want to see at Ajax. Full support from everyone involved with the club.
Ajax can't just easily replace someone like Ten Hag with someone of his level. At best they can get someone who might do as good a job as him.

I thought unofficially he had agreed to become next Barcelona manager once they can afford to sack Koeman.
It was like how Chelsea got a German manager to get the best out of the two German players that were not playing very well in werner and havertz.

Would you take Darren Fletcher as an interim until we brought in the hag? What about Roy Keane as interim haha.

Not that I think he'd come mid season. But even if he did, he likely wouldn't immediately improve results. It would probably take time. Don't think the current team is suited to play like he does with Ajax to be honest. If we think our defense looks shakey now, wait until they try to play a high defensive line, with risky passing from the back. Ajax currently plays with 2 relatively short, quick and agile central defenders, who play like midfielders almost.
He joined Ajax mid season aswell from Utrecht, but didn't really do well until the next season, wasn't convincing at first and got his share of criticism.

That's alright United are a patient club and I doubt this changes.

Good post. Wouldn't be a wise appointment without giving him a pre season and a summer transfer window.
Playing out the back and with a high line sounds impossible with De Gea and I have doubts he would find much use for AWB and even Maguire to a lesser extent. Ajax are very reliant on a DM (Alvarez) to snuff out counter attacks as well. All our midfielders are unsuited for that role, even Fred.
In possession they play 3-1-5-1. Playing in a 5 man line very close to each other requires a lot of drilling to pull off. Never mind the frequent interchanging of positions that make it impossible to mark there runners (which is why Mazraoui who can play nearly every position is so important from everything to their build up where he functions like an extra midfielder Pep style, to scoring goals).
