Erik ten Hag | Currently unemployed

Luck always plays a part in every manager's career - Pep and Klopp included.
Not consistently over a season. Ole had an empty stadium to help build away records and the headstart of a huge defensive injury crisis at Liverpool and a reset at Chelsea and Spurs.

Despite that, he built feck all and these clubs recovered rebuilt and just went ahead again in a matter of mere months.

Luck plays roles everywhere but Ole had more lives than a cat.

Oh no we definitely need better players, have to sign absolute minimum of DM, CM, and ST in the summer
We of course need new blood in. The squad ages one year. Just hope ETH can get it right to our play and form a sustainable structure from youth to the fist team. We need that strategy suiting the modern game.

He has a huge job on his hands, but like most have said, if the club doesn't give him control to sell / bench underperforming players, then it would be impossible to expect him to compete.

There is nothing wrong with the present set of players. Ole won top 4 with them the last two seasons.

They will do well under Ten Hag. Ralf has been a poor manager.

Actually they will not. They will initially try to buy into the new manager, but then they will lose a game and relapse...and then you will hear how the players never really liked the new manager...and how they want poch or whoever. This is how it has always been. Ole came in and the same thing happened. Mourinho came in and the same thing happened.etc

The honest truth is the only real solution is to get rid of a big number of these players. Maguire, rashford, wan bissaka are bench players at best if you wish to compete for the title. Somehow we have them in our starting eleven. The saddest thing is, we keep doing this same shit over and over again. For the longest time we knew that smalling and phil jones would never lead us to a title...but we kept trying over and over again. We were too scared to be ruthless. To this day, Phil Jones is still a manutd player and there are people who believe he can still turn it around.

On the other hand our competition is ruthless. Pep and klopp are ruthless...if a player isnt the right fit, they sold them quick. Even salah is dispensable at Liverpool..so is mane. At mancity, the got rid of aguero and fernandinho is next. At manutd, we keep hoarding them. This is why mata, matic, phil jones, cavani, pereira etc are still here. This is why we will fight to keep failures like rashford, lingard and martial. We are not ruthless and allow players to build their brands at the expense of the club.

Meanwhile any serious top young talent like touchameni or Bellingham will look at us and rightly steer clear. We have an entitled group of players who keep thinking the coach is the problem and they are the answer but they are not willing to put the work in. They want to be coached their way or nothing. We will not compete until the day we decide to be ruthless.

The only problem I can lay squarely at ralfs feet is he keeps selecting these same players even after they have been found to be useless. At this stage, van gaal would have switched to playing kids from the Academy. You would rather finish 8th by playing kids rather than finishing 6th with players who we know don't want to be here

"Ole had an empty stadium to help build away record"

Huh? United is plagued every year by "huge defensive injury crisis", this year included.

And empty stadiums to build away records? :( What's your age, bro?

Agenda posting at its worst.

We need fresh players in defence, attack and midfield. If there is at least one that tries hard in those positions and they havent been affected by these shower of shite we that have now, ETH might stand a chance. He cant come in, play the same midfield and defence and expect not to lose a game. Their heads are fecked. Mentaly broken.

This is so daft
Our injuries were not remotely as concentrated as Liverpools. Have a word with yourself

First day in he should get rid of every single player and just start over from scratch. Not even joking.

Anything less than that he’d be wasting his time.

We were competing with City and Liverpool last season, we’re not even competing with Arsenal and Spurs now.

In honesty we were not very good last season, alot of wins coming back from losing positions at half time was not sustainable. We certainly did not compete with City last season

I can understand the empty stadium thing. A lot of clubs suffered through not having support in the stadium, I think we thrived on it. It now says a lot about our players characters that they cannot cope with the pressure of opposing fans or their own fans getting a bit rankled.

Don't know how on earth ye think that.
The way they have reacted the last 6 months shows a lot should be nowhere near the club.
You never work in a job where an incapable manager to the situation ruins everything? You are lucky man.

We weren’t brilliant last season, but we were certainly better than we are now. And while we didn’t in reality compete with City by the end, it’s safe to say we were competing at a higher level than we have been this.

Ole was a big part of this season…

We benefited from Liverpool having an off year, and Chelsea being hampered by Lampard.

If we take that team and put it into this season at best we would be 4th and that is with the current Chelsea limping.

So we were title contenders under Mourinho and Solskjaer?
Thats where we want to get to and these players will not get us there.

We went to shit as soon as fans were back in the stadium. Weak mentality wankers who could just perform in this artificial environment.

I don’t think Ralf is a poor manager, I think the mentality of the players is poor. They may not be actually listening to his instructions.

We saw glimpses of it at the start of his reign & it worked well, just not for 90mins.

Clear that it does not work or would not work and he’s reverted back to what they know and is simply trying to get it to work at an acceptable level and to the end of the season.

Personally for someone who has lead the way for Klopp, Tucnel, Naglesmann, simply cannot be this bad, at all! Especially after they said that a coach of his level should improve the team a lot & it’s arguably got worse or stayed the same!

Players mentality sucks!

We have quality players. The issue isn't the quality so much as the application and willingness to do as they are fecking told. Anyone with even one eye can see that what we are doing on the pitch isn't what the manager will be asking them to do. They are lazy, slow and don't give a feck.

A couple of additions should in theory be enough to have us competing for the title for quite a lot of the season but it won't be because probably 7+ first team players are unwilling to put aside their egos and just do as they are told and work their socks off. We are slow when we attack and slow when we defend. We don't have numbers when we attack and we get overrun defensively even when we have numbers. Thats nothing to do with quality of players.

Thats the prime issue. I genuinely think that over the past 3 years I have seen us outplay the opposition in about 30% of games. If you edited all of the goals out of our games and showed them to someone, they would rarely come away saying that we are the better team. We came from behind to win 10 times last season I think it was. We were always flirting with being crap and results reflecting our performances. This season is just when it finally happened.

Bruno transformed us so much because he was scoring goals from nowhere and creating goals from nowhere. When your team play is awful, individual moments or fleeting moments of cohesion are what you rely on and the better your players, the more of those you will create over 90 minutes.

This season it has just all gone to pot. Ronaldo has come in and isn't half the player people thought he still was. Rashford has gone off the boil so his goals are gone, Greenwood has turned out to be an utter scumbag so his goals are gone and Fernandes isn't having as good a season. Its pretty easy to see how we have gone to scraping through a lot of games to suddenly drawing a lot.

We were always flirting with results reflecting our shit performances and now we have lost the few sparks that were keeping us going. Unsurprisingly we see a lot more draws and losses.

If we want ETH to sort us out he needs complete control over who stays and who gos and he needs a few transfer windows to completely change the culture in the dressing room. Its toxic and is our biggest issue. We are being outworked, outfought and outplayed by teams operating on 1/10th our budget.

Not going to lie, I have to question the intelligence of any manager stupid enough to come to United at the moment. We are a complete pile of toxic waste.

We benefitted from Liverpool having an off season sure. But personally I don’t think Chelsea are all that, certainly in the league anyway. In any case, right now we’re behind Arsenal. That’s how sorry the situation is now.

Our boy currently trailing 0-1 at home vs 15th placed Sparta Rotterdam
Please take all the Ten Hag related posts to another thread as this one is apparently about Ole...

But it'll be interesting to see their response in the second half.

Not watching the game but looking at the half time stats Ajax have had almost 80% possession and tripled the oppositions passes it was surely a freak counter attack or something

Yeah posted before I saw the stats, looks pretty onesided

What happened with Ajax defence? I remember at some point they had like 4 goals conceded in 20+ games, now they seem to concede and go behind in every game.

Got linked to us. Preparing for coaching Maguire next season

Been a fair few goalkeeper mistakes recently. Though they're still the best defence in the league, with the second best having conceded more than twice as much.
