Beat Fulham and he’s already had a better league season than any post Fergie manager besides Mourinho in his second season. Considering where we were last May that’s frankly incredible.
That we have one cup in the bag and an FA Cup final to look forward to only enhances that even more.

Good season especially after last year. Let’s not forget those losses against Brighton and Brentford either. The extra running session the day after the latter was a calculated gamble that did seem to work in establishing culture within the dressing room. The slip towards the end of the season is one I’m more putting down to us having to rely on more of last season’s first 11 who aren’t up to scratch really. Can’t see us beating city but you never know. Proper interested to see who will be let go this summer now

Yeah, agree with 7/10. Could be argued 7.5/10 and if we win FA Cup maybe even a 8/10. If we win FA Cup, it is likely the best post-SAF season.
Had my doubts (and still have) but the last 3 matches, we showed nerve and good results. Long May it continue and hopefully we make the right signings to push for a title challenge next season.

A pretty austere reading of his performance, that. I’d give him an 8/10 right now. The decline toward the end of this season was largely down to ETH being a victim of his own success. We also had some key injuries and the majority of the players became exhausted.
Right with you on the expectations, though. It’s still going to take us a couple of seasons to put in a meaningful challenge. We need to be realistic and a little patient. And hope there’s decent investment.
I think we’ve looked a million miles from an ETH side since February but we’ve got what what we wanted in the end and hopefully he gets the right backing.

If anything it just makes me more positive about the future that we've a manager with a deep philosophy but isn't scared to alter it when he needs to dig deep and win. He's exactly the type of manager we've longed for the past decade and more.

Limping towards the end. Really need to build the bench. We're playing with no strikers and always one injury/suspension away from a major crisis in midfield. But what I really liked in those games when we did look like his team is the clear pattern of play, and hints of a pressing side.

Last year we finished 6th with 58 points. This season, we’re just one home win against Fulham away from finishing 3rd on 75 points. A 17point improvement, along with a cup win and a second cup final.
This btw is our 2nd highest points total for the whole decade, since SAF’s departure. The best one being Mourinho’s 81-point season in 17/18 when we finished second.
