Erik ten Hag | 2022/23 & 2023/24

Just came across this. Don't know if anyone posted yet but it's kinda nice to have a manager actually gives instructions when things don't go our way rather than just sit there.

I'm incredibly proud of how my former Ajax coach is performing. I always had trouble with the way he speaks, which is no better in English(if not worse). I bet you all think it's the language, but maybe he is autistic ;) (No offense to whom actually is)
We can probably agree, that with a big part of the team still being the same as what the former coaches had available, he managed to make those boys play football and results are more than we could have hoped for.

With all the sandbox (Arab) money coming in to many club (and I hope Man Utd won't end up in Arab hands), the challenge to become a PL winner is bigger than ever, I believe that Erik has done a great job.

I read other posts of Erik maybe being interested of going to Bayern. Honestly, there is no greater competition than the PL and I think Erik has already learned that. The Bundesliga is not much different than the Dutch league, with only very few clubs with money and that can compete for the title. I don't think Erik will leave Man Utd unless he has too or after a couple of successful years. Perhaps Arabs think they need a coach with a bigger reputation.

I wish you all the best of luck tomorrow against Barca, but with only one outcome!

Mods please just give this guy full membership.

We took their fantastic coach, their two best players and here he is wishing us all the best and love. Imagine what if Ajax did that to us. Fantastic simply fantastic people there I think.

Redcafe, where people can ruin literally anything.

Literally ruin every good moment.

I mean imagine seeing our favourite manager and prob the clubs most legendary person out for dinner with our new manager who everyone is loving at the moment.........and people manage to turn it negative and start inventing scenerios where he's getting involved.

Us Ajax fans recognize pedigree when we see it and the respect we got from you lot when in 2012 our away lot got so much respect from OT when we wonn and almost knicked the next round from you in the 86th minute with Aldeweireld's goal.

That being said, I had full trust in ETH doing brilliant with United but even I feared a Frank de Boer scenario after those first two games. Not gonna lie that even I was surprised he managed to turn it around the way he did.

Hope to see you guys in the semis. Not the final. I don't want to rob Erik from his first European trophy or lose a final against United again.

"Alstublieft" and "Bitte" would translate to "please" in Dutch and German. The two languages ETH masters. It's a bit like a Dutch expat living in the US for years trying to speak Dutch again saying: "definitief" while meaning to say "absoluut". (definitely and absolutely)

Anyone know where his jacket is from that he’s worn on the touchline in the last couple of games?

You didn't know that SAF making negative comments about the current manager is actually undermining them? Sure.
Those comments were made in private and were not undermining, just an opinion. You're making a way too much deal out of it, try to relax.

Agree we have a lot of mutual respect here. For me it'd be pretty nice to meet you in the final. Would be so special for ETH. Regardless of the result. As long as it's fair the better side win absolutely no hard feeling whatsoever.

Anyway imo we're still pretty far from that. Lot of football to play between here and there. And surely we still need to beat Barca tonight firstly before start thinking about all that.

All deserve commendation, but at this point it really comes down to Arteta and ten Hag.
You dont think Howe deserves a shout? he's managing top 4 with Newcastle. How many would have predicted it? also Marco Silva has fulham on 6th when they were supposed to be fighting relegation at this point.

Bruno talking to Rio about Ten Hag being tough, but fair, to everyone, regardless of their status. Fecking love hearing this:

A shout for the short list sure, Silva as well, but given everything ten Hag has to deal with he's clearly done a superior job than Eddie. And although Arteta has been building something for several years now, he's done an incredible job of getting his squad to fire on all cylinders all season long.

If we're going to do down the road of who has picked up his side the furthest distance from expectations, it would probably have to go to Silva of Fulham, who were probably deemed by most in the footballing world to be relegation candidates.

I do think context is important here. Howe was hired amid Saudi takeover fanfare and had a gale of positive energy to start flying with. When Ten Hag came in, the air was pretty thick with bad vibes at the club. He's changed a culture so quickly to one where we are expecting to win matches now. This time last year, we were beset with media leaks from disgruntled players and staff.

It's the big difference between him and Ole so far.

That was unfortunately what Ole did wrong, too nice and not sticking to rules.

Please bring on Dalot, Antony and Sabitzer soon and very soon.

Already a legend in my eyes !! For God's sake, can't believe we finally knocked these cnuts out from a European competition. I'm so sick of continuously losing to them.

Ten Hag is a legend of a manager and I don't want to ever hear a bad word about him again.
