I was a big fan of Ole but tbh imo the biggest problem with Ole was he was a coward. He failed to deal with Ronaldo which eventually cost him his job.

Ok let’s not get carried away. There were long stretches during Ole’s reign where we looked absolutely amazing. Specifically when the season resumed after the initial lockdowns, we set a record for winning consecutive games by 3 goals or something.
Jose yeah it was always papering over the cracks and falsely looking good due to scoring late goals after struggling for most of the games.
Totally agree. He should have put his foot down and not bought Ronaldo back. Or be more willing to use him judiciously instead of giving him carte blanche to play whoever he wanted.
Ole was too nice.
It worked to get the players on side at first, but eventually they realised there was no punishment coming.
They could under perform regularly and still play every week. They had little competition and rarely any rotation, no wonder things got so slack.
Then the leaks, players getting annoyed behind the scenes, it all fell apart through a lack of discipline.
ETH so far has the perfect balance. He came in instantly showing there is NO favouritism, and you earn your place through hard work and playing well.
Ole would never have done what ETH has done with Ronaldo and Maguire.
Ole pissed off a lot of the squad by having favourites and no meritocracy. His man management was poor hence why we had a broken dressing room when he left
All of those players have done well at various points. Rashford and Shaw especially. Not shitting on ten Hag though. The guy is class!

Football fans.No, I disagree. Everyone deserves a free run for minimum of first couple of matches. I don't want to give a number because that may be different for different managers. But if you are critical from the very first minute, may be something is wrong on how things are being seen.
Ffs that's his first match ever for a club like United and people are justifying the criticism.

I think you're mistaking between allowing a couple of bad results before getting called for his head and total exclusion from criticism.
None says the manager should not get any praise in his first matches even if he does well. So it's the same for criticism if he doesn't do well. Nothing wrong with both.

We had good spells under Solskjaer but we always felt so reactive, it never felt like we were the team controlling the tempo of a game, we often reacted to how the opposition played and let them dictate the match. It made for some absolutely mesmerising comebacks and some fantastic beatdowns but it was also a small club mentality and a big reason I feel we never won a trophy under Solskjaer despite clearly having a squad good enough to have been winning trophies ... this is different, teams are having to adapt to us, we're still beating teams comfortably despite injuries, our players are improving even those whose form has been patchy at best, there's a system in place that doesn't rely on individual bits of genius.

We have never looked this good since probably 2008-09. Ole tenure was decent and felt great initially because Jose last few months were brutal

I was a big Ole fan and was pretty happy with the counter football back then. I was also of the opinion managers couldn't do much regarding improving/changing players. Or 'fix' them so they can play their style etc. So we had to play the counter style because our players were only suitable for that.
ETH has completely proved me utterly wrong regarding all that. For the first time in years I can watch United playing some modern, beautiful yet extremely effective football. And our players have progressed a lot under him. What a manager really.
The worst was people freaking out after the city loss.

Spot on. Look, if people want to call any of our play under Ole amazing, fair enough, but not for me.
We got some good results under him but we never played consistently good football, nor did we ever look like we were transitioning into a modern, progressive playing style. We had moments, but that was about it.
For me, this is absolutely hands down the best football we've played post-Fergie, and it's not even close. Jose had moments too, but again, it was dour football for the most part. ETH has improved a tonne of players, and he has us playing consistently like a modern side.
We outplayed Barca away last week and how many of ETH's signings started? Three: Malacia, Weghorst and Casemiro. Casemiro is clearly the only world class player among the 3, and yet, it looked like we played a different sport to the one Ole had us playing. The job that this man has done is absolutely incredible.
