With all the Arteta comparisons flying around I think there’s an important point to be made. With the fecking ludicrous schedule of fixtures (because of the fecking ludicrous World Cup) ETH is really only getting to work with the squad on a fixture by fixture basis. Bouncing from rest days to specific preparation for the next game. No time at all for more general work on shape or patterns of play.
Arteta had a full season where Arsenal basically only played one match each week. 5 full days between games every week on the training ground. Can you imagine how much ETH could improve us with that luxury?
You don't even have to go that far. ETH has been here for just six months. Arteta has been at the Emirates for three years, and when asked about Arsenal's title form, even he admitted that they are way ahead of schedule. ETH has shown that he deserves our patience. If you know the way, despite the hardships, you will eventually get where you want to go.
