Is there anything that's not likeable about this guy, we don't have to come up with excused for his antics, Moyes said we aspire to be like city, LvG as good as he was, was always arrogant, Jose was Jose, hi eritage rant still annoys me.

EtH seem so much more in control. says the right things, the progress is visible, has sorted out who he wants to play and the way he's dealing with Ronaldo is just the cherry on top.

In a way it's good that this is happening with Ronaldo, not just multiple trophy winner with united, also a ballon dor winner with us, also one of the greatest of all time. But if he can't behave, he'll have consequences too. Sets a great example.
 
ETH has done everything right so far. Good to see we have a manager who isn’t afraid to make big decisions, this wouldn’t of happened under any of the previous managers.

Not sure about that, Keane seems to think everything Ronaldo does is golden.

Will probably just say he understands his frustration at his situation.
 
Geez, the way he acts and what he says is almost too good to be true; everything he says just seems to be exactly what we want to hear. It's so weird after our last few managers to have a balance between discipline but also not being totally inflexible. The fact that he's given Ronaldo a potential way back ("he's an important player") is also the right thing to do. He's handled this perfectly I think.

Throw in the 2 sub tantrums this year and he's been undermining managers selections for a while already.

He’s got balls of steel like Duke Nukem. Can’t help but respect that. Funnily enogh, Ronaldo pulling that stunt is the best thing that could have happened to him. Reaffirms who the boss is.

Some days I get sad thinking about the potential he had and how it's all gone to waste. Then I remember what a disgusting thing he did and sadness turns to anger.

He's handled this very well. It's essentially like going into prison and twatting the biggest lad. Nobody will feck with him again.
 
Not only ETH disciplined Ronaldo but also made our incompetent board bench over. I'm impressed.
Glaziers better be signing ETH some facking striker this winter.

Ole would have called Ronaldo into his office and apologised to him and assured Ronaldo it wouldn't happen again.

Mourinho would have suspended Ronaldo, fined him 2 weeks wages, insulted him in media interviews, and spoken off the record to his journalist pals about what an arsehole Ronaldo was.

ETH is punishing Ronaldo as he had to but he doesn't seem to be relishing it or making it personal.
 
Excellent manager who has stamped his authority from day one. He has given everyone a fair chance and actually benching players who don't perform. Maguire, Shaw, Malacia, Mctominay, Sancho were all dropped after two or more bad performances. It keeps everyone on their feet and ready to go knowing you will always get a chance.

Completely agree. Even after bad results, the way he conducts himself completely assures me he's the right dude for the job. It must be the same for the players. He's not knee jerk. I can quite imagine his mantra after defeat is along the lines of

"Fellas, we lost but it was because we deviated from the plan. Let's work on ensuring we stick to the plan and next time it'll be better"

Precisely! ETH is doing the right thing and if we let him get on with what he wants to implement, then the club will be in a much much better place. I'd say as soon as next season we will be challenging. However, fans, players and board need to keep supporting him, especially when we go through a bad patch which is inevitable at this current stage.

That would be regrettable. We are performing much better than I thought we would be at this stage of the season, and we've seen that De Gea, Dalot, McTominay, Fred, Martial and Rashford have all improved to varying degrees, and the way we are playing is a breath of fresh air.

He clearly stated that he's been playing elite football for 20 years, what's not to understand about that heartfelt apology?
 
Hope he is pushing for someone up front in January, even if it's just a loan deal to see us through to next summer

No, The Wanderers, directed by Philip Kaufman (The Right Stuff, Invasion of the Body Snatchers). The Warriors were directed by Walter Hill (48 Hours, Streets of Fire). They both follow confrontations of street gangs in New York. Very different films, both very good (and both from 1979).
 
I am hoping that our amazing away fans will make the biggest cheer for the manager to let him know that we are fully behind him.
 
Ten Hag has really had a Haaland of a week so far. Benches Ronaldo and sticks with Fred after a disappointing draw against Newcastle last week. Fred plays a blinder, scores and assists, the team plays Conte’s boys of the park in a brilliant performance, Ronaldo shows up his ego in the maximally revealing moment for himself, and Ten Hag parks the whole situation as elegant as a Mourinho bus in Ron’s garage. He’s moved everything up a level with this.
