Erik ten Hag | 2022/23 & 2023/24

Oh yeh good point let's keep Ten Hag then. He's the worst manager the club has ever had but I'm sure a proper structure will make up for that, rather than gambling on a new manager who could not possibly be worse.

If you change every single thing at once, you can't tell what works and what doesn't. Its the basics of any experiment.

At some point we need to trying really overhauling the squad, not just keep swapping managers as we have for the last decade.

I'm not saying ETH is the one to take us forward, I just don't think he is the biggest problem.

I hope Casemiro doesn’t come out defending ETH, he’s liable to let another in.

He bought in 7 of the starting line up. They cost of 250 million. We just lost 4-0 to Palace. He's toast.

It’s not his team!!!!!11

Blame Ole or Jose or the structure or the injuries or the glazers or the moon. But one things for sure, it’s never Eriks fault.

*insert Jesse from Breaking Bad - "He can't keep getting away with it!" gif*

Not sacking him already is the first black mark against INEOS.

I'm not convinced the future is looking brighter under them.

Would love to watch us in training to see what he is actually doing with the players, there has been no improvement whatsoever to any aspect of the team.

He persists with the same crap every game, at least if we were playing youngsters I could deal with these awful results better, but it's the same shit were in week out.

He has got us here (don't know how) so he should be allowed to manage the cup final
Even if we let him oversee the cup final at least announce that he'll be going at the end of the season so we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

He has no redeeming factor at this point. There is no positive to keeping him at the club any longer.

I don't understand what it will take for this guy to get sacked. Feels like he is safe no matter what happens.

These performances have been the same as the first week vs Wolves by the way...Only difference is we're missing a few players that can bail us out.

He's only had £400m to spend and there's still 8 players left from Ole and he didn't get De Jong and we've only lost the most games we've lost in a season since 1962...

Genuine question did anyone look at the back line available tonight and think “we’re going to do well today?”

I don't think performances like that are acceptable for any team. Teams in league 1 or 2 or even Austria can be expected not to get humiliated by Palace like that.

The question is why have INEOS allowed him to continue this season? We could've been in with a shout for top 4 if we pulled the trigger. Now we've fecked ourselves with FFP considering we'll not be playing European football next season.

Have a brain and be pragmatic when your CB pairing is that slow and old, and the opposing team's attackers are that quick and skilled.

They surely have to review their thinking in the next couple of days.

Common sense is that we aren’t getting European football for next season if he stays. Think we’ll get at least into the conference league if he’s sacked and there’s a bounce

West Ham and Palace owners have more ambition than INEOS. If Hag is still there this week it will confirm INEOS are as bad if not worse than Glazers. 18 months to buy the club 18 months on garden leave. This wasted time is killing us. feck off BREXIT Jim you cnut.

It started already, Crazy.

I think today they said we had one player starting the match, that started against Palace when Ten Hag first signed. The squad has been overhauled multiple times in the last ten years, it’s a complete myth to suggest otherwise.

Tuchel = personal opinion but no thanks, there is a reason he doesn't end with any club on good terms.
Zidane = apparantly has no interest in managing in england and has not experience in a job like this.
Amorim = unproven, is he an improvement?
Potter = I would point him in the Amorim camp but somewhat proven as being unable to cut it at a top club.
Southgate = Would be even worse, I guarantee it.

Someone I know who works in football in the NW says that United are looking closely at Iraola.

They view him as one of the best young managers in Europe. He's PL proven also.

The person who told me this works on the commercial side of a club in the NW, so it could just be gossip but I think it has merit.

Probability wise, literally every one of those managers would be an improvement considering this will be our worst season in 40+ years.

Also laughing out loud at saying "Zidane has no experience in a job like this"

He doesn't, Zidane's experience is getting a collection of the worlds best players to play well together. Not, taking a club miles off it and building something from the ground up.

Seems weird not to have pay him off by now. Missing out on Europa league will probably cost us 50-60m. Not very wise from Ineos.

Inevitable has happened. Players are no longer running for him. Was there in the stats today and was clear by the body language of several players.
Literally he has to be sacked tonight. You cannot have him manage these remaining league games and the cup final because they could genuinely be bloodbaths.
Get a club legend in to take the last few games if just to give the players a new voice to listen to but Ten Haag is done. He had absolutely nothing going other than players were still trying. That is no longer the case.

I don’t like this post. It’s nothing at all to do with the topic of the thread and attacks posters for no good reason. Find a better outlet for your emotions.

So you would prefer to accept we can’t play attractive football with the players we have? Drop deep and play like a lower table side?

Surely the players play the football though. Did anyone look at Mateta vs Evans and think this won’t be an issue?

Constructive.

No but I did think we’d lose tonight. As soon as that line up was announced.

We have Evans, Casemiro and AWB at left back.

We have Eriksen (no legs), Mainoo (teen) and Mount (coming back after months of absence.

We have a 19 year old winger, 21 year old forward new to the league and Antony at RW. What else were we expecting?

Surely you realize that people are tired of the same 1000 page long "contstructive debate" that you seem to always want to have right after we just watched yet another embarassing performance right?

People having been "debating" you since fecking December while you WUM it up listing every excuse under the sun. No one feels like it's even worth expending the energy these days.

He survived 7-0 against Liverpool, in all honesty that should have been the moment he had gone but no chance he survives this

West Ham are 5 points behind us, lost the same number of matches and have scored more goals.

They replaced their manager.

West Ham have higher standards and more ambition than Manchester United.

There's constantly so many injuries because ETH cannot manage injuries.

He hasn't a clue about managing player's effort in game, managing a players minutes or managing a player's recovery schedule.
