What's with these 28.5% peeps? Pain turns them on i guess. Kinky stuff

Once the entire structure is in place at the club they can decide, for now, what top manager is even available? There really aren't many and we don't even have a DoF yet that will say how we will play.

It's pointless to sack him now, it should have been done months ago when we had the chance to turn things round and win a CL spot. The number of points we have dropped in the last 10 minutes of games since March would enough to make up ground on Spurs and Villa cause both had a bit of wobble.
If we could get a good manager in for the FA Cup final it wouldn't be pointless. I don't really care about the rest of the PL games tbh, keep him for those by all means since they're pointless anyway. A part of me does wonder if Bayern go out in the semis, would Tuchel be possible to bring in just before the FA Cup final since all his games with Bayern would be over.

What are the ideas in attack? We have no synergy between players, no fluidity, it is mostly trying to get a player through on the counter, mostly Garnacho, then just watch him try to outrun, outmuscle, beat his defender somehow.
We had times there at the end where we had like 5-6 players joining attack, and no one knows what is supposed to happen. Just chaos, and mostly down to Brunos creativity and execution.
I’m a huge fan of Hojlund, his attitude and commitment to the team. However he has a few flaws. For example, he always hovers around the goal line when a winger cuts into the box, making it very hard to be found.
No disrespect to Benni McCarthy but I’d like to see someone like Ruud work with him for a bit, even temporarily to show him the areas that he can work on.

With a new interim manager for the last few games we have a small chance of a bounce at least. We could maybe even win a couple games?
Could be good to end the season with an ounce of positivity at least.
Worst case, we play just as bad as last two months. Hard to find the downside really.

Who on god’s green earth could get a tune out of these players?

Until key players are moved on (Shaw, Rashford to name two) NO manager will be a success at this club.

It would simply be more years wasted.
Nobody. But don't burst the bubble of the armchair experts in here who believe that if only we sacked the useless, incompetent dickhead currently in charge and hire the local drunk off the local pub "then yeah we might just knick it" in the cup final.

He actually doesn’t deserve to have the final. The season has been a travesty. The players and the fans deserve a chance to go for it without being asked to do maddeningly stupid things tactically in the final.

Get in Ole for last few games and the final and let’s see what kind of game we get.

Just think, it's only 3 days until posters are back saying he deserves another season. Just wait till the dust settles a bit from this one.
If he stays another season, we should create a RAWKcafe section of the forum for them.

I feel we have to time it right. Maybe wait until after the Arsenal game.

Yeah after another chastening loss to Palace and Arsenal would be the perfect time to bring in an interim

Or even just leave it to McLaren and Darren Fletcher. They'd have much more of a chance

There's a big gap between 'getting a tune out of' and playing like a relegation candidate every week. He shaped this squad with £400m.

The managers in question have decided to keep and support the players you blame. So the buck stops with them and they need to go if they can’t get good performances out of the players.

Ole got a tune out of those still here who played for him, for two or three seasons. ETH himself finished third and won the league cup. Absolute nonsense. You can't admit he's fecked it all up.

I think the new board are going to want to keep him as a blame shield whilst they get settled in. If they bring in someone new, they'll be putting themselves in the spotlight. Right now, everything football wise can be explained away as another Glazer feck up.

Wow. You're a right sneaky fucder politician, aren't you.

Good to see the manager calling out the inconsistencies in the refereeing. Even bought up the one from last week with AWB against Coventry.

Good chance your new manager bounce dies with a loss to Arsenal which is the main reason id leave it until after. A couple of games against a wobbly Newcastle and Brighton team with little left to play for could be a good warm up pre-cup final.

We played a close game in the FA cup final with City (when nobody gave us a chance) just one year ago.

Things have gone downhill since then in case you haven’t noticed (and that final was close only in the scoreline, despite being given a cheap pen). We played like plucky lower league underdogs, unlike Inter who gave them a real fright.

The same players had a successful season last year alongside the manager. We cannot pick and choose competence of the said individuals on the basis of how the season pans out. Many of these individuals are experienced even in the substitutes internationals.

I genuinely can’t believe the season he’s served up. 5-6 years worth of nightmares all happening at once. Clown.

We had as many in our favour as the other teams. We've had a fair few pens in the last few games too.

Now would be the perfect time to get rid of him for an interim solely for the new manager bounce effect.
-more than a week to go for our next game
-some injured defenders could return

My only concern is if he wins the fa cup he will get the job. That would be the typical United way.

We have no standards left.

Been saying this for the past few months. With every passing result like this we're just being dragged further into the dirt you you have to question our standards. New ownership or not. What's to assess at this point?

I don't really know. My best guess is inspired by Hockey, where some teams have defensive systems where they pressure the puck high in the offensive zone and if they don't create a turnover backcheck aggressively in the neutral zone. That's the only thing that I can think about and makes sense but it only works because Hockey rinks are significantly smaller.
At least in hockey, if you get pissed off you can go postal with your hockey stick tather than whining on twitter

Nah, if so they're idiots.

They will gain zero goodwill points from the fans by keeping ETH on.

He's rapidly turning into a positively hated figure.

If they seek to avoid controversy, as it were, they're much better off getting rid of him as soon as possible.

Most United fans would welcome an interim at this point.

Shaw and Rashford weren't even on the pitch today. Shaw hasn't been near it in months in fact. I guess when there are no logical arguments left to defend the fraudulent slaphead, the only thing left is slip off into the realm of fantasy, where no other manager on the entire planet could have possibly guided this team to a home win over the mighty Burnley.

Neutral (ish) view - you are basically right. United need to show ruthlessness with the playing squad before any manager can stand a chance.

However, Ten Hag could have done substantially better with what he's got IMO. His approach has been nonsensical given the squad (which - it must be said - has had a hand in building).

So you need to get rid of a load of players AND the manager IMO...

Just think, it's only 3 days until posters are back saying he deserves another season. Just wait till the dust settles a bit from this one.
It's even worse on the reddevils subreddit. The first couple of hours after a game are the only times when anti-ETH sentiment doesn't get downvoted to oblivion.

Are you having a laugh? City were shit, there for the taking (probably thinking about the CL final) and they literally routined us. Similar to what happened with Chelsea in the first semi this year.

Garnacho was our best player and our genius manager only put him on in the 62nd minute after we conceded a 2nd which basically sealed our fate.

You really are not proving shit with this post.

@evil_geko
So what were you saying about us being 'unlucky'.

Don't bother. He's a wum, he will constantly post against the narrative and bitch about moaners. Every loss is either unlucky or referee decisions going against us.

Nevermind the refs. He should call himself out for being fecking useless

Or better yet why when playing the leagues second bottom team is a referee's performance even a defining factor in the result?

It's like a prime Mike Tyson fighting someone significantly below his own weight class with a knowledgeable scandal for him to lose. If he lets the fight go to the judges it's far worse off than him just knocking out his opponent. The only time United have ever been in a defining position to win was against division 2 opposition and even then everything capitulated.

There’s more chance of winning the Cup Final with an interim, next four games have little meaning really. I think we will be humiliated by Arsenal by 4 or 5 goals if ETH stays and might not win another game with him in charge. Of course an interim isn’t going to get us 4 wins from those games but I’m sure we’d have a better chance of doing better at least.

I can’t see him being sacked until after the Cup Final whatever happens though, we know he’s finished but just have to wait now.

Hojlund deeper than our midfielders.

Ten Hag's tactics are nonsensical. Hojlund's biggest strength is running in behind so he has him playing as a target man. He has Eriksen as our deepest in possession. Wan Bissaka pushes up into the half spaces where he gets the least space. He says our stratgy is to get the ball to the wingers in dangerous positions as quickly as possible but then has them track two players in the press. Each decision is against each player's biggest strength.

I wouldn't mind if they were the anomaly. I wouldn't mind the results if his ideas made sense, but they clearly don't. I don't see that the players have given up on him either. All the factors point to him.
