Hate to say but his time here should be up at the end of the season. He isn't cut out for this level of competition and his signings have been expensive and somewhat shite.

A lesson in how not to set up your team in the last 20 mins to see out a game.

Absolutely god awful game management. Again.

Bailed out by an 18 year old.

Nothing changed. We played well first half then went downhill second one. Saved by individual moments. This is no turning point.

Still that was a proper ending and a great entertaining game of football to close the day with.

He’s fecking awful. Those substitutions are as bad as anything I’ve seen. He hasn’t got a clue.

Same story as Copenhagen. Players tried their best to throw it away, just didn't manage to this time.

Horrible management. Can’t wait to see the back of him. Doesn’t have the decision making ability to be successful here and his continuous favoritism of Antony proves this every time he’s on the pitch.

Happy for him. Coached a very good performance. Then let it get to his head and made some horrendous subs (why the feck are Antony and forsun replacing Rashford and hojlund in a game like this), but Mainoo saved his ass. Can forgive him for that, hes gone through a lot and it's easy to lose composure.

Coach us to play like that first half (even the 2nd half wasn't bad, garbage reffing and some bad luck made this chaotic) and we can work with it. It's about doing it more than once though. Let's see. I'll take it as a start though.

Good win. Wolves away has not been an easy game this season. Think it's make or break season for him, but confident we'll find a run of form now.

Good football first half,
Second half, conceded three goals, equaliser on the counter after taking all out attackers off for defenders was bizarre.

so happy with that winner from maino but fecking hell

Some great football played tonight, should have been out of sight at half time.

Second half, that penalty and going 3-1 up only to crumble like that, that's poor game management from the players on the pitch. Especially that third goal, who the feck does that at 3-2 up? Madness.

You could make a case that he should be fired for spending more than 100 mio. on Onana and Antony alone.

Or make the case that he just shouldn't be responsible for recruitment. Pricing and recruitment is part science these days, and coaches are not up to it. Let someone competent recruit for him, and maybe he does a decent job.

His in-game management makes Ole's look world class. Every game feels like a cup final under him because of how often he shits his pants with his tactics and subs.

I think if he hadn't had to take Casemiro and Licha off I think we would've seen that game out 3-1.

As I was telling my son, I don't care about the results. I'm looking to see if our performances improve, if it looks like what he is trying to do on the pitch is working. Now that Casemiro, Shaw and Martinez are back. So far it's more of the same.

He set us up well at the start, we played really well, his in game management is absolutely the worst i've ever seen though, that and his players like Antony and Onana are shocking, get him off talent ID and signings.

I fecking love the whingers when we win. Its brilliant.

Fantastic first 60 minutes, crumbled under pressure again and made some inexplicable decisions in the second half which almost cost us the game. I don’t really what to think after this games as it basically consisted of two separate performances.

I think the Spurs v Ajax semi final was a warning sign. It seems he lacks the ability to get his teams to see games out. Perhaps this was glossed over at Ajax due to the lower standard but it's been a feature of our season.

How do you make sense of that? Set up great first half, look like a real team. Then take off all your best players for a collection of random oddities. It’s like he loses faith in his own plan whenever the team are in the lead and just starts bringing on centre halves.

Hopefully more of what we saw first half to come though - that first 11 is good

It was a brilliant performance up until their first goal but even you have to admit in-game management was once again lacking. Very lacking.

I have seen some stupid stuff in my time but bringing on two experienced CB's to see the game out, then sending them both up for a corner in stoppage time while we are leading by one to then get broke on after the corner and concede with the two cbs in question absolutely nowhere and the defence completely open is probably up there.

ETH's game management is frankly schoolboy.

Yeah, that's fair enough. But he isn't doing enough with the talent at his disposal either IMO.

Why the hell was he playing Antony on the left? He constantly lost the ball and that led to back to back corners and then they eventually scored from it. What sort of tactics are these? Antony is not even decent at right wing, the f*ck is he going to do at left wing with his non existent right foot? Absolutely baffling and utter shit game management, especially in the last 20 min.

Third goal was just idiocy from Onana and the first goal was literally a nothing penalty. I'm not really blaming our manager for that. Even hipster Ange was hanging yesterday vs Brentford at home. I think the only thing we should be angry about is our attackers being very poor in their chance conversion. But alas, this thread is the one that's at the top of the forum - which makes me fecking laugh so hard

I read he wanted Maignan but he was too pricey. Even if he wanted both, what's your point? They're both decent players that we paid 2 or 3 times too much for, that's not on ETH.

It totally is on him. He wanted them the club's own scouts didn't want Antony but he overruled them.

Onana and Antony are 100 percent on Ten Hag. Makes no difference what the price was we should have never have been interested but he insisted on the pair of them
