So this season: 24 games, 12 losses, 11 wins and one draw. Out of 1st domestic cup, out of CL and Europe. 7 out of our 12 losses came at Old Trafford. Had 9 games (already!) where we conceded 3 or more goals (lost 8 of those 9 games). Lost against most of difficult/big sides (Spurs, Arsenal, Brighton, City, Newcastle x2, Bayern x2). Have been unconvincing in most of our wins, apart from Everton (only 2nd half though) and Chelsea - best performance so far this season though Chelsea were awful.

Too many losses, conceded too many goals, too shaky defensively, unconvincing going forward, struggling in midfield. I guess ten Hag won't be sacked soon (at least not until Ratcliffe completes his takeover) but it's also really difficult to see him turning things around atm. Yeah some players like Martinez, Casemiro and Eriksen should be back soon and that could improve us but after losing to Bournemouth 3-0 at home, now vs Bayern and about to play Liverpool (A), West Ham (A) and Villa (H) where it could mean another few defeats. It's bad atm, but seems like it could get worse.

I'd love to see ten Hag turn it around, sick of every manager just ultimately failing at our club for more than a decade now but it's more likely that it's a same old story that we've seen too many times.

He had everything at his disposal on the pitch from the beginning tonight. Our bench was a state. What more could he have done?

Better. Against all the odds and even though it wouldn't have mattered anyway, he should have done BETTER.

Hag out Copenhagen guy in. nOw

Bayern are one of the best teams in the world, we aren't playing well at the moment and have a depleted team, losing multiple players tonight. We lost by a single goal and gave it a go to the ability we had available, stop whinging about everything.
Currently Bayern are not that. Just had a quick glance around German media, consensus is the match today means "they passed the character test" but besides that are "uninspired", "lack dominance", "lack genius moments", "lack speed"

So this match today is seen as further proof that Bayern are currently playing a level below their own expectations and standards.

What point are you trying to make here exactly? Ten Hag takes no responsibility for the state we're in?

Him saying post game he thinks it was a very good performance and we didn't deserve to lose is a kick in the teeth, he clearly doesn't know what he's doing, or watching.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, speaking to TNT Sports: "We didn't lose it today, that's clear. We had good performance but also we made mistakes. Individual errors. In the end it was not good enough.

"Today's performance was very good, we didn't deserve to lose, but we lost the game.

"The team did very well. We were very good in defending organisations, very good in the pressing. But we did not take enough benefit from it, that's the truth. But also Bayern is a good team. Even when they are not in the game, they have individual class and just need one moment. Unfortunately that happened.

"We know we want to be more consistent. As manager I have to improve the team, I have to guide them and the players have to take the responsibility. We have to do that together.

"The players gave everything, you saw the spirit. I have to credit the team, big compliments to the way they worked together, as a team, against a good Bayern side.

"You need energy from the bench, especially our front line, the options were limited."

Look back on the campaign with regret? "Not with regret. We didn't make it, but we have to accept it. We have to learn from it. We played some good football in the Champions League. We have to take some good performance into the Premier League. We want to be back [in the Champions League'.

On Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw's injuries: "I can't say in this moment. We have to wait 24 hours for an assessment."

I do feel bad how we'll never get to see how he could have done this season with a more fit squad. It's been a joke how bad the injuries have been, but he could be partly to blame for that due to the coaching for all we know. It can just be bad luck.

he simply can't coach and that's it. nothing to do with Bayern, it's the same case in pretty much every game. you simply don't see "it" in our team, whatever he's trying to do.

As I said earlier, this is just one big waste of time. We all know how this is going to end, even those who defend him and attack anyone who doesn't. We all know the end of the story, because we have seen it before. Honestly can't imagine anyone thinking in his mind that he'll turn this around and make us world beaters at one point, even his supporters can't be believing this.

We keep on going back and forth attacking each other yet we all know how this will end. We're wasting our time.
As with our previous managers, it's roughly 50-50 now, but once he's inevitably sacked, 90% of fans will look back and agree that he deserved to be sacked all along and that he was never that great.

Rashford
Martial
Casemiro
Eriksen
Martinez

Having them available would have given more options. Allowed us to possibly bring better quality on from the bench, either from the above or from those they would have replaced.

Evans wouldn't have been coming on. Amrabat wouldn't have started, possibly not even McTominay. Garnacho could have been brought on after an hour to inject some pace at a crucial time.
With Martial and Gashford on the pitch United would have struggled even more. Rashford epitomises what is wrong with this club, played well for a couple of months gets a fecking big pay deal and returns to shit, should have been sold not given a new contract and as for that Martial role on the end of the season, can’t wait to see him out of this club.

Just can't see him leaving as there's no decent replacements on the market. I don't want an interim as we would just be back to square one again like with Ralf.

What point are you trying to make here exactly? Ten Hag takes no responsibility for the state we're in?

Nope. Blame him for the many things he deserves to be criticised for. But it's fair to acknowledge the hand he has been dealt as well. Half the team missing, tonight and all season basically. Players making mistakes you cannot account for at all and more.

Which makes you wonder what the people who voted to keep him are watching, because they sure as Shit aren't watching this current United team, maybe they have fergies best years on a loop

It was ETH who wanted him gone and demanded full say over transfers and look how that turned out
Posters would seriously want to stop with that one. 90% of our transfers in the last 10 years have been shite. A well run club would have kept Rangnick and allowed him to stay on and finish his job. The club is run like a mad house. Completely and utterly dysfunctional. Can't anyone see it for what it actually is? Feel like I'm going mad here.

I see no white text, not sure if serious…. :nervous:

Not serious.

Though if someone could make both the "Copenhagen guys the one" thread and the "Copenhagen guy out" thread so we can get right on it, that would save us a lot of time.

He's so far out of his depth it's crazy. As soon as he's come across a good team, he's looked clueless.

Even the home wins against Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City last season we were playing like relegation scrappers at home. We had something like 30% possession in those games. It was a couple of smash and grabs that you see lower half teams pull off. We are completely schooled anytime we come across a competent team.

Half our fan base is far to reactionary to consider any other factor than the thing they decided was the problem 3 seconds ago.
Or maybe let's try and think a bit deeper why every single member of this squad has been injured at some point, before absolving the manager of any blame. Because he himself admitted the training sessions that they're doing are a big reason.
Injury crisis usually end at some point. We seem to be the only team that are in a constant one. Very strange. Very unlucky indeed.

It was never about the result tonight. It was about picking up 4 points from 4 games against Galatasaray and Copenhagen.

Martial and Rashford ? Have you seen how these guys have been playing recently?

You guys will never learn/get good again if you sack every manager after 2 years. Our fanbase were 50/50 on Arteta and a lot of us wanted him gone after 2 crap seasons. Its only now after allowing him to get his team and drill in his tactics/coaching that we are back amongst the top.

You guys need to get rid of the deadwood and give him time before sacking. We got rid of the players who tried to down tools (Ozil/Auba etc).

This.

Gets massively overlooked.

he said we played very well tonight and didn't deserve to lose

5 shots 1 target

Is he deluded? Did we even have a shot on target? Very good???

Hopefully that’s not what he is saying in the dressing room, like SAF used to defend the players in the press conference but roast them in the dressing room,

Yes lets.

Could playing almost every possible game last season, across 4 competitions plus a mid season world cup several players took part it have anything to do with it?

Similar to how Liverpool really struggled last season until later on after doing much the same, minus a world cup?

The similarities between us this season and Liverpool past season are fairly obvious. Not sure if Liverpool had many injuries but they certainly played like they were burnt out and that's how we are playing.

And who is absolving him of any blame? Maybe if people stopped blaming him for everything we could have a better discussion. It's not that difficult tbh.

More options for sure, but judging them all on this season's showings alone, they've barely had a performance between them. Casemiro before his injury was way below par, Rashford is Rashford, Eriksen has been ineffective whenever he's played, Martial is like playing with ten men. Surely Antony and Hojilund who were signed for a combined 170 million should be offering more on a night we need to score.

It's like he's afraid to call out the players because he fears he'll lose the squad harmony.

He also said we played some good football in the UCL. No self criticism at all. The club is rotten, you can see neither Ten Hag nor the players are really hurt after this embarrassment just another day at the office.

There's no winning culture at the club, no standards.

Yep. We could be the next Arsenal. Finishing 2nd.

What can I say? Is this man even fit to be a coach? Starting the same group that was beaten by Bournemouth 0-3 at home. Maybe his team talks was, "Guys, you know you can do better. Let's beat Munich". I would to see him starting Pellestri in favor of Antony, drop McTominay for Mainoo to see if we could play as a team. What I am seeing here is there is zero teamwork. Players trying to score, no one is passing to be open man. I know Mainoo plays for the team, he is likely opting to pass rather than shoot. I know Pellestri will find the best option available instead of Antony. Erik is probably one of the worst manager that we have hired who is blind to whatever that is happening on the field. Delusional manager for sure.

He may not be good enough I agree but getting rid of him and keeping the disfunctional upper structure in the club is not going to solve our issues.

For real change to occur we need to start the purge at the top. If ETH is not deemed good enough, tEhey'll get rid of him and find someone who is. I don't see this club going anywhere under the current ownership. Not a fecking chance we get back to anything resembling a Fergie era United.
Is it really hard to understand that the Glazers are called the 'owners' because they own the club?
If there were people at Utd who could work to improve the club, there's no reason to think it wouldn't happen. Sir Alex could work with them.
Utd has a batch of do-nothings and grifters now. And a fan base who live in a fantasy land.

The fans have bashed Moyes, VanGaul, Mourinho, Ole, Rangnick and they settled on ETH. What I'm getting is the fans aren't very good at picking managers.

fecking tactics. Try and coach us how to attack and have a shot. We had one shot! I refuse to believe these players are not good enough to create a single chance in 90 minutes of football against a side who were going through the motions
