I get the feeling that the forum is just a sounding board to get crap off their chest and they would use United as their online pinata ie projections. Such over the top emotional reactions -- the matchday threads are the most amazing and amusing. You wonder if people are even watching the same match. Its all about the prisms/narrative that they have attached to the players or the manager.
Then the transfer window is also full of contridictions. United is so bad at this -- we always over-pay. Then we the current team is driving a hard bargain, caftards will say just pay them and get it over & done with.
People just need to calm down. Sure players, managers and club administrators have made mistakes in the past but its pointless harping on about it when we have an almost new team in place.

I'm sure if we end up with a summer of Malacia, Martinez, de Jong, Eriksen and Antony, we'll shape a lot better as they'll all be familiar with how he wants to play and it'll help him implement his style quicker. And who knows, possibly another signing if we get lucky and sell some crap.
But yeah, need to show some patience.Have a little faith In Erik. He is going to add a core player in every line -defense, midfield and attack. He knows Martinez, he knows FdJ. He knows DvdB. If you have one that knows all the drills and how he wants to play. It will make it easier to get the rest into the fold.

I agree with what a lot are saying about TH and the clean slate. He cant feck them all off in one go and if hes trying to rebuild confidence cant really say anything else. We already lost 5 and I do think another 2, maybe 3 will permanantly leave this summer. I bet in another 2 windows most of the first team will be his own players though, players bought in or promoted.
A clean slate is not the issue. The issue, previously, has been the reluctance to act upon clear evidence (at that time) that even after a clean slate certain individuals did not show improvement.
In regards to ten Hag, I'm happy for him to approach this squad with a clean slate mentality, providing he has the sufficient ruthlessness to act decisively where others have shown reticence.

Actually this squad was very decent.
But yeah, Blackett and Rojo in starting lineup and what an attacking trio Rooney-Falcao-van Persie. Midfield Di Maria - Blind - Herrera... not bad at all.
Agree. He has no loyalty to any of these players and if they do not perform he will not hesitate to get rid. Think Arnold and Co. will also show they will not take the nonsense Woodward did.

It's going to be very difficult to move so many on thanks to the wages they were put on. Jones, Bailly, Martial are the main culprits. Probably a few others as well.

Those complaining about the clean slate comment are the same that are up in arms that we haven't signed anyone yet or sold half the squad. Quite clearly the squad is not as bad as how they played last season whilst not being good enough to challenge for anything. When you take into account the following 1) majority of these players will be here next season so we need them to feel confident (we saw what happens to this squad when the manager constantly slates them) 2) Ten Hag has a reputation for working with players that fans would say are not good enough 3) we can only realistically sell so many players before we out ourselves in danger of not having enough bodies in the squad.
As someone else has said a lot of people are complaining for the same of complaining. Which is silly because after experiencing the utter shite of the past however many years this is the one time where we should actually be enjoying the ride and seeing what EtH can do.

Might mean we have to take what we can for some, you never know he might get a tune out of Martial is he feels wanted and it is a good system he puts into play.
Started to bond with the players
With LVG the philosophy wasn't the problem, it was the players he bought. Non-technical unintelligent players in tiki taka will always look dull. Imo there's even a real possibility we look blunt in ETH's first season if the majority of our squad turns out to be incompatible with his style. We need to first of all weed out who isn't up for it before we even talk about improving them. Not all our players are quick thinking or even think at all. First couple months is a screening exercise.

I agree with this post up to the end of the bolded part. After Pogba, Martial was (IMO) our most naturally gifted player, albeit perhaps that has changed with Sancho being here now, but the point being he has a lot of ability. If ETH can somehow unlock that in a consistent manner it could be amazing.
