What worries me is that he keeps talking about the 2nd finish of last season.I hope he is not naive to understand that was a false alarm and he needs to rip up the squad.

He's definitely not naive, he's just smart enough to know our players vastly underperformed this season and our squad doesn't need ripping up no matter what the idiot interim said.

I beg a lot of people will disagree with you. This squad need changes in lot of positions.

If he doesn't understand, he wouldn't say there are lot of works to do and wouldn't start early. He's not going to smash the players in his first press conference. I think he was referring to the fact that this squad is not as bad as it looks on the Palace game, which is true that this squad is good enoughto finish 4th this season.

He didn't really say he listens to Ralf, he's just said it's on the club. I think what he's indicating is if the club tells him to listen to Ralf then he will but if the club doesn't say anything to listen or speak to him then he might not even use Ralf.
About taking in Ralf’s feedback etc
“It’s part of my analysis, I analyse by myself, I observe, and I speak with a lot of people but finally I draw my own line”

He’s answer about it’s on the club was about whether Ralf stays on

It came across that way but I think the takeaway will be that he won't takes Ralf's word as gospel. He'll listen, as he did to LVG and others before taking the job but he'll make his own mind up.

Fair enough

So we are back to players can do better and squad is generally fine, yep, we deserve everything shit thats happening to us, every single thing.

Do people really think that 2nd place last season was an accomplishment? City were still 12 points clear of us. You know what our record last year would have gotten us this year? 5th. You know what 58 points got you last year? 11th. 2020-21 was a down year for the PL and in a down year we were still 13 points off. Chelsea were the 2nd best team last season. Would have rather had Chelsea's season than our's. won Champions League, finished 4th and went to penalties in the FA and League Cup finals.

I think this year was more of what the team actually was than last year was. I think they just had a good fortunate run in the middle of the season, they got lucky with health whereas other teams weren't.. Reminder we dropped 10 points in the last 6 matches. Imagine if City would have dropped 3 more points at any point last season it would mean that team "that finished 2nd" would have choked away a league title. But yes let's act like the current team has the frame of a team that won stuff because they finished 2nd and lost the final of the Europa and just needs some needs a few parts.. I think the level of the team got shown at the end of of last season and is still going.

Lindelof is good? Guy got bullied yesterday by Crystal Palace.
Bailly is useful? Bailly has never been useful. He's always hurt and the rare times he has been healthy he's been bad. This is the guy that got subbed in the 1st half of a CL knock out tie by a manager that was one of the worst ever at making subs. That's how bad he was in that match.
Mengi & Tuanzebe- Listing them is just pure hopium on your part. Hoping they will come good or that ETH will be able to unlock Tuanzebe whereas the previous regime couldn't because they don't know tactics just feelings and vibes and wasn't feeling Tuanzebe so they binned off and tried to sell him for 20m and got laughed at so sent him out on loan.

That's not how statistics work

Decent presser, but then again Ralf looked like genius in his first ones. Doesn’t mean anything, but let’s get behind him, seems he knows the task ahead is huge.

Ralf always looked like a professor from the start. This guy looks like a ganster.

If we can replace the out of contract players with 3 genuine starting 11 quality signings then that will be more than enough with Ten Hag's coaching.

Look at all of the players coming back from injury + hopefully the Ajax Van de Beek, top 4 should be cakewalk.

The squad needs an overhaul, everyone knows it. What are you smoking ???

We are not even at quality problem yet, feckers spreading their shit like its a desease, post SAF every single singing we made dropped in quality, level and value after few months, bar Bruno (some would say he didnt progress at all), every single one.

I`m sure he would agree on that, but he can`t do that all in one season and can`t write off the players if he might still need them coming season. Besides, he looks at it from a coach`s perspective. When he tries to value of analyse his defenders, he will also take in account a fan might overlook. Things like support from pressing midfielder, how much the system suits the concerning players and whether he might have better ideas how to use a player to the best of their abilities. I for one was never fan of Maguire and thought Utd paid way to much for him, but even if you consider it a bad match and bad signing, he must have had some qualities to warrant his signing. If you can use players to their strengths and find a way to cover their biggest weaknesses with the help of a different defender next to him, or a different tactic, or maybe even by influencing his mental approach.

They can argue it but they'd be wrong. Fergie fought off competition just as fierce as this. Mourinho, Wenger, Benitez... all in charge of some good teams through those years. All better teams than what we see today in my opinion, bar maybe City and Liverpool.

Nah mate, can't really argue that fighting Benitez, Mou and an over-the-hill- Wenger is the same as competing against Pep, Klopp (both as good as prime Mou if not better and both shit on Benitez/Wenger) and the other two...

Agree to disagree then ;)

“I want to battle them all”  Somebody make a gif of the royal rumble with him in one corner against the whole premier league managers in another stone cold style.

He has the most perfect English anyone’s got. What the hell you all are complaining for ? I will battle them you all.
