Erik ten Hag | Currently unemployed

So he’s no longer our problem. What’s next for ten Hag? Back to Eredivisie? Some mid table job in Turkey? Maybe off to the Gulf? Place your bets
I’d say we are no longer his problem …..

He will do fine somewhere that’s not a complete basket case of a club

I feel like West Ham will hire him at some point. They love signing big names who have flopped elsewhere or are otherwise washed up (e.g., Lopetegui, Pellegrini, Moyes).

He invited everyone to his party but Sir Jimmy. Ten Hag gets slippy, Ten Hag gets the sack.

I was told by the caf faithfuls that Bayern and Barca would be lining up if we ever were stupid enough to sack him.
Pep might move on from City at the end of year, Arteta's job at Arsenal may be over if he cannot deliver the title, Carlo is probably done at Madrid after this year... You can imagine he will have all of them lining up for his services too.

It was funny to see Lopetegui to celebrate so much yesterday. He is probably next manager to be sacked after ETH.

He’s a good manager who will bounce back, just not in England. He’d do well to take a sabbatical until next summer. I never hated him like many of our support did, and I hope he redeems his reputation.

My feelings exactly. He will do well again. I'd actually be surprised if he was not managing the Dutch national team in future. It will be fascinating to hear his account of life at Old Trafford, warts and all, as undoubtedly we will. The Dutch are famous for their frankness!

Not sure if it will be fascinating, I fully expect him to say exact same stuff as he said when he was the manager - not his fault, always someone else to blame, he was unlucky and not supported, let down by structure etc. excuses excuses excuses

Can see him managing like a Dortmund. Or maybe back to Ajax.

Yep. 100%. He has a massive ego. Never his fault.

It depends how much of his Ajax sides success was actually down to him. Similar to Potter.

It’s classic of some people on here where they have to be nasty and toxic of managers who leave us instead of wishing them the best. Hope he succeeds in his next job and does well.

What did he say?

A lot of stuff and stories. Some of it sounded like he was giving a eulogy at a funeral.

"I remember one time I met him on his bike, he said where are you going Andy? I said, I'm going to India with Ole. He said that's nice."

Shite like that, I turned it off, I couldn't listen to it.

Can see him finding employment with a European club within 6 months, but I wouldn't expect it to be a top level club. He peaked getting the Utd job. I have no animosity towards him, he failed and, I think, he tried his best but ultimately his 'process' was flawed.

The footballing board need to really define themselves what they want Utd to be as a team and then go find the manager to deliver it, because what gone on the past (not all their fault) cannot be repeated.

He’s definitely under pressure, seems normal he’d celebrate a last minute winner given thats the case?

Well he had the right idea in the beginning, and instead he just chose not to adapt to injury issues and mid game management. He became rigid and made excuses. He wanted to make us what his Ajax team was, compact and dangerous. Didn’t work

It might be true that United have been a basket case for over a decade, but the fact remains that this guy was going to have Amad sold, and thought Antony was worth over £80 million quid.

So I hope for his sake that his eye for a good player improves.

United spending 80mil on Anthony was a result of the club being a basket case , not a United manager telling them to buy him. Not sure where it’s confirmed he was going to sell Amad, he started most games at start of this season and was less than impressive.

I know a lot of fans hate ETH but no need to make stuff up, he’s gone now.

How the feck did you figure out Erik was the one deciding how much we payed for Antony?

Leipzig is too small for him. He'll hold out for one of the big jobs for a couple of years at least.
Leipzig is probably the perfect job for him. He does well there for 18 months and a pathway opens up for something bigger.

I completely agree and he would also probably take it with the view of working himself back up to the Bayern job or something similar within a few years' time.

It's a tough job at the moment. The whole Red Bull football universe appears to be collapsing lately and Klopp will have a huge task at hand to get Leipzig, Salzburg and Liefering back on track again and act as a conveyor belt for talent again. If they actually replace Rose in Leipzig his successor could get a poisoned chalice as everything which made Leipzig so successful in recent years currently is more or less in limbo. A lot of their competent staff above the manager has left, it's not the same as it was when they were rising through the leagues to become a top team.

I guess what I'm asking is... does EtH want to walk in the next mess of a club after his United experience?

Watch him insult the club now to make himself look better. Guy will throw INEOS under the bus now to bluff his way into another job.

I don't think I've seen a manager fail so miserably after being backed so enormously. Half a billion wasted.
Usually the compensations will require no interviews or comments about the club for couple of months or the duration of the compensation given. After that baldy will explain the pathomechanism of antony.

C'mon mate, Erik knew Antony inside-out and back-to-front from Ajax. Are you telling me no one from the club asked him "is this guy worth 80 million quid?". I have absolutely no doubt Erik's say-so could have had that transfer pulled at any time.
