I have no idea who or what Bailly is. But I will point out that Ballbag said Van Gaal would stay at United

The Martial of CB's. Have rated him since the first time I heard of him 30 mins ago

I think he's just relaying information from somewhere else, which is apparently reliable. Cadena SER someone mentioned above.

Bailly would be a great signing, I have about 7-8 posts in the newbs jizzing myself silly over him. Can't believe no one has been linked to him earlier (Barca was linked a few days ago).

Great prospect, much better than Mustacchio that draws all the attention at Villareal.

I quote myself from the twitter thread, this guy will be a great signing.

The last time we signed a player no one had heard of it worked out quite well.

Seriously though, is he ready to be our starting CB.

If we get both him and Manolas, that's Jones and Rojo out definitely. Not that they deserve to stay.

Well this came out of nowhere. Assuming this is happening, it really shows how little the press know. I don't think I've heard his name mentioned once in the gossip.
Yup, don't expect English media to break any news regarding players from abroad. For instance, if we are chasing a French player, read whatever French papers are saying.

Picks up a fair bit of yellow cards, got 12 last season (9 in La Liga). Though refs over there are pretty card happy so I wouldn't worry about it.

Cadena SER tend to be very reliable.

Cannot confirm. They are right at times, but who isn't that reports daily.

Would make sense to sign him if Mourinho wants to play the backline high up the pitch, something that particularly Blind doesn't seem to fit too well. He's a good defender, quick and comfortable on the ball. Sometimes makes rash decisions but nothing he couldn't lose with the right coaching and experience. Lacks the hype of Koulibaly and could therefore turn out much cheaper with arguably even credentials and potential.

Has ridiculous hair. That's my only impression so far.

Cwrtainly moved quick if it's true.

I don't know him, is he highly rated?

With all the fannies running around in La Liga 9 yellows equals about 3 yellows in the PL.

Have never seen him play. I don't know what position he plays or anything about him.

Hopefully it will be a good signing for us..

I bet it is £22m with add ons. Balague and the rest just say it is £31m. Like they do with Martial.

Fixed this for you.

On topic, I trust our club to find good players. I think he'll be good. Can't say I was expected this, though. The reported fee doesn't fill me with complete confidence.

First time I've seen Bailly and I thought he was outstanding. Pace, strength, intelligence. Maybe not Hummels level passing but has everything else. He was clutching and then icing his hamstring. That's usually pretty serious.
Bakambu was ok, nothing special. A lightweight Lukaku. Bailly, why have I mentioned his name countless times for it to wash over most of your heads?

With foresight, and now beautifully sweet hindight, let me spell it out to you slowly:

B......A.....I.....L......L.....Y was phenomenal against us in the first leg. Villareal were broken when he got broken.

This smugly positioned high horse is rather comfortable.

Dumbstar was really impressed when he played against them in the Europa League

I swear this has been said a dozen times over the last 3-4 windows and yet everyone still takes the British press and their "club sources" seriously.

Encouraging news if true...he's a phenomenal talent. I doubt he'll be the last signing at CB if he comes because from the limited sample of games I've watched of him, he shares a similar weakness with Smalling in that neither are much good at distribution from the back. Much more comfortable than Smalling on the ball though, and it'll be nice to have a guy who'll actually challenge Smalling for a place in the starting XI.

Not heard of him. Very unglamorous name, though. Sounds like an English League One Football Manager regen. Most likely a clogger centre mid, no pace but a decent pass. Captains Walsall to two back to back Johnstone Paint Trophies whilst constantly falling short of promotion. Retires at 32 due to recurring ankle injuries.

Learning that he's an Ivorian centre back with pace to burn actually tips my world upside down.

God, I'm bored without real football happening.
