Saved us after Blind's (? not sure) slip with his pace

Still only 22. Has his flaws but a reliable CB to have for the next 10 years. A vital signing.

His recovery pace/acceleration to push into midfield is so damn good. He really has to be in the top three of our quickest players.

Agreed, I love how he often feints to go backwards and then surges away from the pressing forward.

He had great game. He must be the fastest CB in the league. He is very aggressive and it was great to watch his game.

Another flawless performance and he saved Blind from further embarrassment too.

I like how aggressive he is in winning back the ball. Really good player

I'm going to say he'll become the best defender in the world with the guidance of Jose. 0 weakness in his game. Obviously, he's still raw but the potential is absolutely crazy, considering he's barely played first team football if you think about it.

Jose managing him is perfect. What a signing hes been. And surely can only get better.

The yellow card was bullshit. Really annoyed me.

Especially seeing a challenge right after that by their player go unpunished which lead to Young being booked.

He can be a monster for us defensively.

Less than 10 games into the season and I already rate him higher than Smalling, who with his shirt-pulling antics always worries me.

At least he did it today when iy was less obvious, there were bodies around him and Can's body obstructed the referees view, we won't always be that lucky though.

Eric Ferdinand. Or Eric Vidic. He really reminds me of both. At times he can do the elegant sliding Rio tackle, and a moment after he can knock three players unconscious Vidic Style.

Afraid we will miss him in January.

I like how he seemingly responded to the City game. Played it long on many occasions. (I assume he in this game as well got the instruction to not play first-base passes)

It shows he's learning from past mistakes. A very promising player.

Agree looks a right prospect.

Agreed but the ref must have warned us that after he let us away with a lot the next one was going to be a card, and Bailly was the unlucky one with the late tackle from behind
That isn't how a game should be played. Just because the whole team made a few fouls, then suddenly he makes 1 and gets a yellow for a nothing challenge? pathetic.

Henderson hacked down Pogba in the 2nd half when he was countering and Henderson didn't even get a word in his ear. Think it was illegal to card a scouser last night.

Imagine when this guy gets a season or two under his belt. Due to him being such a tank it is easy to forget that he is only 22 years of age, and he has played less professional football than most 20 year olds today.

Will be our new Vidic this guy.

I was really worried he would get a second yellow after picking up the first, considering how aggressive he is. He's shown so much maturity already this season and coped with it well.

Not only is he amazing defensively but he's so composed on the ball too, those little feints to give himself time on the ball show his class.

Made a recovery by sliding tackle that almost felt impossible to me, I literally went 'WOW', because it looked like he messed up the situation just before. It wasn't at a very important area of the pitch but the difficulty factor seemed even higher than the Valencia recovery to me.

Maybe @GifLord could upload it, if he wants to and has the time for it obviously. It was between the 15th and 16th minute of last night's game if my memory serves me well.

Otherwise I might just download the match myself this weekend and make a GIF out of it when I have the time, because it was definitely one of my favourite Bailly moments so far.

You are talking about the sliding tackle to recover from Blind's Slippy-G moment, right?

Not sure to be honest, wasn't that in the second half? The excitement has definitely clouded my memory more than a bit, I just remember telling myself to write down 'Bailly, 16th minute', then I actually forgot to do that because of the tempo of the game, but I remembered it this morning.

Yeah the Blind slip was in the second half.

What makes it all the more impressive is that we've seen city sign two centre backs of a similar mould for a similar fee and none of them settled anywhere near as well as Baily has, and he's a lot younger.

It's frightening how Valencia, Bailly, Shaw, Smalling (ranked them like that) are four of our possibly 6th fastest players. Smalling is almost just as fast, but Bailly should take note how often he makes full sprints and Smalling doesn't have to. Rio was ridiculously fast, but he didn't often go full out like Bailly does.

I think we need to try and signed an experienced CB to go with him. Balague (unreliable most times) said Pepe is free to sign with clubs from January 1st as his deal runs out next summer, he wants 2 years but Real only offering 1.

Don't want that cheating thug anywhere near our club.

Yes!!! Doesn't look particularly impressive at first glance, but when you watch it again you see a second Liverpool player taking over the ball. I thought Bailly was never going to recover after miss timing his initial tackle and they were going to create something dangerous. But he did recover the situation, and played it to a team mate too. Obviously nowhere near as vital or spectacular as the Valencia tackle, but I was very impressed seeing that, especially on the big screen. Even two players can't get past Bailly.

Thanks a million! I already started downloading the match and this saves me a shiteload of time.

I think Pepe and Mourinho aren't on good terms.
