With him and Blind in defense we can afford to push our midfield into more advanced positions, we don't need a midfielder constantly dropping deep to pick the ball up off them, they can play out themselves.
His passing has been brilliant. I'm sure when we signed him this was his biggest criticism.

No harm to have a CB that'll stick in anyways. He's composure on the ball and the way he seems to be always in control of things is impressive enough too.

Very good half. Maybe a bit lucky that play had been halted when he went flying in but he's impressed.
He's got a real presence this kid. Happy to dish some out and not scared of the ball. Played more forward passes than some of the others out there. Obvious he didn't play under 'philosophy'. Ballsy. I like.
He looks quality so far, doesn't he. Still a bit rash, and incidents like that late charge into the Bournemouth player are going to be common these season, but he looks like he could be immense for us. Early days, of course, but he's exciting.

Surprised by his distribution so far. Had a few tricky passes which all found their man. That mixed with his physical presence should prove we have quite a player for the future.
I'm on the train! really like him... He's really really calm on the ball, we missed a defender who's not shay to hold onto ball and is a beast of a defender at the same time...

He's everything we have missed since Vida 
He's looking amazing you have to say. A tank defensively and incredibly composed on the ball with the good technique and assurance to go with it unlike some others who look composed but look clumsy as hell. Liking the Blind partnership with him anyway. Smalling has a challenge on his hands to get back in the team

Funny how he was prejudiced for his passing yet he's actually one of the best in the World in that aspect. Lovely composure on the ball, stark contrast to Smalling. Incredible body strength as well, comes out on top in most 1v1 duels.

This guy Will be a legend. First time I'm watching him for a full game and I can see why we bought him. Strong, fast, confident, technical, sure he is a little rash but my god no forward will like to face him. Is it just me or does he reminds me of Ledley King in his play?

The 180s in here when he inevitably gets sent off or gives away a penalty will be somewhat amusing.

Excellent game from the lad. I actually think Blind has been the better of the two today but he has been very impressive in both games he has played.
