I think the better option is to realise your needs should be second behind the needs of the young family. When you get married and have kids, you have to realise the sacrifices you are making.
"Changing your mind" doesn't sit right with me when you have a family. We don't need more broken families because adults can't figure out what they want in life.
I think it is a shit situation but I don't think it makes you a dick. At the end of the day we don't really know the pressures he may have been under in his early life or how he felt.

I don’t see the issue here? Surely this is the better outcome for everyone rather than staying in a marriage he doesn’t want to be in, and likely cheating on his wife.
Relationships change and people’s feelings change over time, especially if you’ve been in a relationship from a young age. This is a much cleaner solution than the alternatives and is far less likely to lead to the kids growing up in a toxic, unhappy home.

Have to agree. Pretty sure the wife and kids will get a good financial support. Some people are just not born to be good parents.

As someone who grew up with parents who grew to hate eachother but stayed together "for the good of the kids" I can safely say it's not a good thing to stick with someone just for that reason, by the time I got to high school years I was borderline begging them to divorce.
Kids can still have a happy life with their parents not together and in some cases gain 1 or 2 extra loving parents aswell.
I don't know the ins and outs (obviously) but if their marriage has run it's course for whatever reason then it's the right thing to do, if Enzo starts being a shit/absent father then it's a different matter entirely.

He's a footballer. When you become a footballer you sacrifice certain personal freedoms for boatloads of cash. You don't go out partying when you're 17 because you've got training in the morning. You don't go to the club at all hours because you've game the next day. In turns you get paid a years wage for 1 week of work.

I am just of the view that divorcing your partner, regardless of the reasons for it, is a better solution than remaining in a marriage you don’t want to be in and making yourself/your partner/your kids unhappy or remaining in the marriage and cheating on your partner. People are allowed to not want to be in relationships and marriages anymore, regardless of their reasons. I don’t see why that should be controversial.
