English & Irish Cricket Summer 2018

Reckon India should win this. Don't think England's bowling attack has anywhere near enough firepower to take 20 wickets and the England batting line up is more than capable of utterly exploding against anyone so I think India will have enough even with their injuries.

Hopefully Woakes finds some form for Warwickshire as the series goes on.

Pujara getting dropped after his car crash interview the other day is funny as feck.

KRTG(Kohli random team generator) strikes again. Not against Pujara dropped, but keeping Dhawan team over him is mind boggling.

What interview? Could you point me to it?

My favourite's now being that he didn't need to prove anything to anyone, and that he was assured of his place.

and when asked about his shit form for Yorkshire and whether it irritates him he said:

Sometimes it does. I don't want to try and find excuses,

Before going on to make an excuse that:
there were a couple of questionable decisions where I knew I wasn't out.

Would have been nice to have Bhuvi in the team.. Sad he was risked in the ODI match..

Don't see us scoring a good score, especially since we are effectively playing with 10 men as Dhawan is in the team.. We are a batsman short..

Cheers. Will go through it. Though knowing Kohli and the current management, it's just one of his random decisions.

Oh sure, but it's still an interview where Pujara comes across as defensive, prickly, and fairly deluded about his success (or lack thereof) in the game.

Isn't pujara a middle order batsman? So not really a fair comparison with dhawansh.
He comes in at 1 down.

Yeah surprised as I always thought he was a humble guy :nervous:

Very bold step from Kohli bringing Ashwin on so early. Still think India should have played three spinners.

Jennings is a good player of spin though.

Just saw that Ashwin avg is under 20 vs Left handers. feck we are in a lot of trouble as Root, Bairstow, Butler and Rashid are only right handers

Not a good start from India, beyond Ashwin's bowling at Cook. They'll want a breakthrough in the first hour after lunch or it could be a long first day.

Christ that was an awful call by Bairstow. Not a double at all!

YJB gone!

Buttler is in next though :(

Was all going so well with Root and Bairstow and both are gone quite quickly. Dunno how I'm still surprised by this.

Stokes looking excellent right now.

The English collapse occurs again, only saving factor is that at least we have posted close to 300 on the board. No where near enough of course but decent total to make a game of it.

Think this was the best Ashwin has bowled outside subcontinent. Looking at the pitch, might be a mistake not to play two spinners but we've done brilliantly to get them 285/9 after they were 211/3.
