Seems like Duckett got a serious injury today too which just adds to the misery because he has been the only batter in good touch. One other aspect of the poor team building is that after Duckett as the opener Bethell was the only left handed batter in the squad, now with Bethell out they picked another right hander in Banton.
So you have a long lineup of right handers who can't play spin very well. With Stokes unavailable I don't even know any other good left handed middle order batters who could be picked. If Duckett misses out then England might have 1-11 of right handers which is insane in modern cricket.
