Sassy Colin
Death or the gladioli!
Well jinxed guys!
Australia should really drop Paine for the next game.
Harris
Warner
Smith (c)
Labuschagne
Khawaja

Wade (wk)
Cummins
Pattinson
Hazelwood
Lyon
Job done.
He is, yeah.So is Archer on a hattrick, across three overs and two innings?
- Merv Hughes is the only bowler to take a Test hat-trick spread over three overs (against West Indies at Perth, 1988). Archer can join him if he takes a wicket with his first ball in the second innings.
I'd bring in Carey as keeper and Starc for Hazelwood.
Smith still banned from captaincy for a while yet, as part of the sandpaper punishment.
Not sure who is captain would be, but that person can be an on field puppet for Smith, much like Paine is.

Perfectly timed intervention here. I was about twenty runs from making the same post, before that third wicket. It looked bleak.

Probably about 50 runs too late.
Still not convinced we've actually done that good a job today despite Archer's rescue act. Australia are well in this still.
Yeh. That Warner and Labushagne partnership wasn’t the best bowling by us. Woakes and Stokes leaked too many runs. Probably let them get 30-40 too many runs yesterdayProbably about 50 runs too late.

It does feel like Australia dodged a '60 all out' type of day. England will hope it doesn't nip as much and the pitch flattens out in the sun.

For once someone's made a rash prediction and it isn't me!Lost the Ashes today.
Yeah we had a mad 45 minutes after tea and it cost us about 40 runs. Had we got them out for 140 it would probably have been about par for the conditions.Yeh. Hopefully the overhead conditions will be a lot more benign and batting a lot easier. Great opportunity to go on and get a game winning lead today.
Not exactly convincing in that first over was he?!Come on Roy, it's time to show us what you're made of against the red ball
Not exactly convincing in that first over was he?!
Haha. Looked like he could get out every ball in that first Hazelwood over didn't he. Has played a couple of good shots in the latest over though so hopefully that'll settle him down. What do you mean? Edging it for four is a very underrated skill
Reckon we might have a new opener in the next game. Sibley deserves a chance surely. There you go
Bloody Roy.

Edit: Oh.

Yep, disastrous technique. A walking wicket. He's just not a Test opener .
You can't be just stood there , no foot movement, and trying to drive every ball no matter how wide it is. After 4 or 5 overs.
Just really poor
Yeah if it's swinging around and you get a good ball, fair enough. But that was just a nothing ball outside off stump. He's just not a Test opener .

I hate watching England bat in tests.
