Cummins in god mode. He’s been unlucky not to have 2-3 wickets.
He’s class isn’t he.Cummins in god mode. He’s been unlucky not to have 2-3 wickets.
Weirdly for an English batter, we shouldnt have too many concerns about him against spin. Unless they prepare those ridiculous pitches again.Harry Brooks depending on how he does in India could cement his claim as biggest young talent in world cricket .
There's a few to keep your eye on - Harry Brook, Shubman Gill, and Abdullah Shafique are all making their mark, with Brook probably the stand out presently.Harry Brooks depending on how he does in India could cement his claim as biggest young talent in world cricket .
Though it seems he should be fine but Ashvin , Jadeja, Patel should represent great challenge even if We decide to not prepare raging Turner's from day one which I am not fully ruling out at all because lately Indian management has been getting more and more conservative and way England have been playing they might think it's in their best interest to do so but that would be a shame to be honest .Weirdly for an English batter, we shouldnt have too many concerns about him against spin. Haven't seen much of Shafique to be honest but Gill so far hasn't been able to put it all together consistently highly talented though wouldn't surprise me at all if he ends being all format great when he ends up his career .There's a few to keep your eye on - Harry Brook, Shubman Gill, and Abdullah Shafique are all making their mark, with Brook probably the stand out presently.
Yea Gill burst onto the scene and did exceptionally well in the ODI/T20 formats. I think once he gets more games under his belt, we'll see a real talented opener in test cricket for India.Haven't seen much of Shafique to be honest but Gill so far hasn't been able to put it all together consistently highly talented though wouldn't surprise me at all if he ends being all format great when he ends up his career .
Root and Bairstow had their best innings when it didn't even matter....None of the “big” batters have turned up this series atall, for either side. Disappointing stuff from Root, Bairstow, Smith and Labuschange all bar one or two innings each.

I tend to agree, but he’s in the side for the reason of scoring big is what I meant.Bairstow has no business being mentioned amongst 'big' batters. Apart from two purple patches he has been an underwhelming test cricketer.
Yeah exactly. Massively disappointingRoot and Bairstow had their best innings when it didn't even matter....
Ridiculous. You would think these guys would be fired up to prove the 4th test was no fluke. Root, Bairstow, Stokes all down without so much as a fight.

Shafique is averaging very well (50 in tests) and already has a double century and 3 other centuries in his fledgling test career. Just hope he can keep the consistency up as that's the one thing that always seems to lack with Pakistani batsmen. He's more of a patient player so maybe that'll work in his benefit.
