Ouch! Smith hitting Khawaja must have hurt ….hopefully softened him up a bit

Yeah my bad ….meant WoodDid he throw his bat from the pavilion?
The vile abuse that Smith was reacting to turning out to be 'see ya, Smudge' is very funny to me.
England definitely ahead now. Hard to see Oz setting even 200 to chase here.
Steady on folks, Australia were 85-4 in the first innings and we know how that turned out
It’s annoying how England have been in every game but just can’t land the knockout punch
Yep pretty much. Two quick ones tomorrow would be a nice jab though.
After the 4th wicket today the fast bowlers had nothing left. Hopefully fresher tomorrow can produce something
Pretty decent effort to hold up an end from Moeen there.
The finger is sore but it’s not impossible for me to bowl now. It’s just a case of getting through the first few overs, then it settles in nicely. It’s not too bad.
I couldn’t grip it at Edgbaston because of the blood and stuff. I need that solid grip. I’ve tried everything apart from weeing on my finger!
WTF is wrong with his finger, exactly?!?
Skin's rubbed off it cause he didn't have good enough callouses to bowl as much as he did in the first test.WTF is wrong with his finger, exactly?!?

Blister in the area that grips the seam to put spin on the ball.

Nah, they'd make him take it off when he was bowling, so wouldn't achieve much.Ok, ta. That’s relatable, as climbing is a bugger for causing ripped/blistered fingers. Although never considered pissing on them.
Is he allowed to tape it up? Or would that just make him lose grip?

I was a bit surprised you're allowed to have your open wound rubbing against the ball.
Looks like Australia, as you’d expect from the better team, are just going to edge England out throughout the entire series. England will rue their missed chances but I don’t think it needs much of a post mortem. Better fielding, better selection and 1-2 more point of difference cricketers.
I’m really disappointed in England’s fielding, it’s something New Zealand are excellent at and something McCullum mentioned right at the start of his reign, it’s hampered England for years now and they look as poor as ever.
