Ouch! Smith hitting Khawaja must have hurt ….hopefully softened him up a bit

I was going to say Bairstow hundred nailed on but we might only be chasing 150 at this rate. Mad series this.

Steady on folks, Australia were 85-4 in the first innings and we know how that turned out

I’m half watching the Murray match, but why did that sound like the we all hate Leeds scum chant. Didn’t think I’d hear that for another couple weeks, it can’t have been that though

Pretty decent effort to hold up an end from Moeen there.

The finger is sore but it’s not impossible for me to bowl now. It’s just a case of getting through the first few overs, then it settles in nicely. It’s not too bad.

I couldn’t grip it at Edgbaston because of the blood and stuff. I need that solid grip. I’ve tried everything apart from weeing on my finger!

WTF is wrong with his finger, exactly?!?

Blister in the area that grips the seam to put spin on the ball.
Skin's rubbed off it cause he didn't have good enough callouses to bowl as much as he did in the first test.

Ok, ta. That’s relatable, as climbing is a bugger for causing ripped/blistered fingers. Although never considered pissing on them.

Is he allowed to tape it up? Or would that just make him lose grip?

Nah, they'd make him take it off when he was bowling, so wouldn't achieve much.

Nope, he even got fined for using drying agent on his hand whilst bowling at Edgbaston.

Why are 3 Blast QFs being played at the same time? ECB had the chance to make this an elite T20 comp but they keep devaluing it and instead pushing that shite Hundred comp.

I was a bit surprised you're allowed to have your open wound rubbing against the ball.

Bleeding on the ball is well within the spirit of the game. That's why it's red.

Looks like Australia, as you’d expect from the better team, are just going to edge England out throughout the entire series. England will rue their missed chances but I don’t think it needs much of a post mortem. Better fielding, better selection and 1-2 more point of difference cricketers.

I’m really disappointed in England’s fielding, it’s something New Zealand are excellent at and something McCullum mentioned right at the start of his reign, it’s hampered England for years now and they look as poor as ever.

I don't have England down as a poor fielding side in general. This series has been below average but exaggerated by having Bairstow as keeper after a broken leg - weird call.

Australia are improving with each test. England are going the opposite way. This England team is a far cry from day 1 at Edgbaston declaring on 380-8 (still a brainless decision).
