So if bairstow did this on the last ball of the over you would stop defending bairstow? These videos show exactly what I described.
If the batsman only left their crease because they believed the ball was dead, I would. Whereas Labuschagne is batting out of his crease. So if bairstow did this on the last ball of the over you would stop defending bairstow?
Carey threw the ball when bairstow was in his crease, they noticed that fact that bairstow is an idiot who went mid pitch gardening without checking if the ball is dead.If the batsman only left their crease because they believed the ball was dead, I would. Whereas Labuschagne is batting out of his crease.
Exactly.Carey threw the ball when bairstow was in his crease, they noticed that fact that bairstow is an idiot who went mid pitch gardening without checking if the ball is dead.
So how is it different? It's a 1 motion throw, there is no delay, no trickery even, one of them just is smarter and actually hits the target and atleast the bairstow attempt does not show labuschane being outside the crease but I suppose we are ignoring that for some reason.Exactly.
It's different because Marnus Labuschagne is batting out of his crease to gain an advantage. Bairstow is not leaving his crease trying to gain an advantage, he is wandering off because he thinks the over has finished. So how is it different? If a batsman thinks ball is not going to hit the stumps and leaves the ball, he isn't trying to gain an advantage yet he is bowled all the same as he were if he is trying a hit and misses the ball if it comes back in more than the batsman expects, should we withdraw appeals there in spirit of cricket or is this excuse the stupidity exemption only available on batting crease issues. It's different because Marnus Labuschagne is batting out of his crease to gain an advantage. Bairstow is not leaving his crease trying to gain an advantage, he is wandering off because he thinks the over has finished.
I don't feel the need to pretend you might be trying to understand anymore. If a batsman thinks ball is not going to hit the stumps and leaves the ball, he isn't trying to gain an advantage yet he is bowled all the same as he were if he is trying a hit and misses the ball.
I am trying to understand why you think one specific form of dismissal deserves condemnation just because it was caused by batman's cluelessness but somehow it won't carry over to the other situations where the batsman is clueless.I don't feel the need to pretend you might be trying to understand anymore.
This is Mccullum doing the same thing multiple times during his playing career.

Completely different situations. None of those were a bouncer, at Lords or on a Sunday in 2023.
Besides, Baz regretted the Murali situation (albeit 20 years after it happened but the important part is that he did regret it). It has been 20 hours since the Carey one and he is yet to show any kind of remorse. Just shows the cynical nature of Carey.
Pail Collingwood was called back in the first clip and as has already been stated McCullum has apologised to Murali and Sangakarra about that incident and said he regretted it.
Of course you knew that already but I guess it doesn’t fit with your anti English agenda.
Is cricket the only sport where few think rules shouldn't be applied? Batsman leaving the crease before the ball is dead is asking for trouble, same with non-striker leaving the crease before the ball is bowled.
Yep, it's nonsense.
When Stuart fecking Broad starts to acting like a guardian of the spirit of cricket, you know its the most hilarious situation ever.
I don't have the same issue with mankading as there the batsmen is trying to gain an advantage. I don't see the comparison.
Rules are wrong as were the players actions - tediously dull way to win a game of Cricket. Guarantee you the Indian ladies are sat there tonight wishing they had not won it in that manner.
Apologized after 10 years, no apology to the others and nz captain called Collingwood back not Mccullum. So we can let it rest for 10 years and wait for Carey to apologize once he retires?Pail Collingwood was called back in the first clip and as has already been stated McCullum has apologised to Murali and Sangakarra about that incident and said he regretted it.

So in 10 years time, let’s see if Carey apologises then? I mean that’s at least applying the same consistent standards as you have for Baz.Pail Collingwood was called back in the first clip and as has already been stated McCullum has apologised to Murali and Sangakarra about that incident and said he regretted it.

Wow. So both teams did it but only one successfully. Look at the salt from the English fans as well. There’s no way in hell Stokes is cancelling his appeal if the shoe was on the other foot. Hypocrites.
Are you serious? Watch the second video again. Labuschagne makes no attempt to play a shot, makes no attempt to leave his crease yet Bairstow still tries it in the off chance he does. They're not the same thing.
One is trying to stump a batsman for leaving his ground during a shot.
One is trying to stump someone for walking off because he thinks the over is done.
Hes standing outside his crease and has to throw his foot back. Are you serious? Watch the second video again. Labuschagne makes no attempt to play a shot, makes no attempt to leave his crease yet Bairstow still tries it in the off chance he does.
Fair enough! If anything I’m more of an England fan than Australia. Lived in Aus for two years and the Aussie sports fans gave me a massive pain in the hole. Watched most of the 1999 Ashes (saw the Darren Gough hat-trick in the flesh) in Australia, 100% rooting for England.

It’s sad that so many think “it’s in the laws so that’s all there is to it” is the case. Cricket has always been different. I obviously love football too but we have to accept in that that cheating or being sneaky to try and gain an advantage is now endemic, as is stuff like talking back to the referee.
I like that cricket is different and has a sense of honour. We shouldn’t let that go cheaply. There’s a reason the long room of all places decided to kick off!
The thing I don’t get is Australia are an outstanding team anyway, so why don’t you just win on merit, which you inevitably would have done, without resorting to tactics like this.
So in 10 years time, let’s see if Carey apologises then? I mean that’s at least applying the same consistent standards as you have for Baz.
What a weird comparison.

Edgbaston 2019 tells you playing like that was nothing to do with the stumping. He was hitting sixes with 20 runs to go then. He got out trying to hit a six. I don’t even understand what you’re trying to say?Has anybody noted how fecking stupid Stokes batting became when it was down to 70 runs?
The only reason he seemingly tee’d off is because after that run out, it was no lose situation. He could get out 5 balls later and England could point to the run out to deflect from the result. But he genuinely got them into a fighting opportunity and blew it.

Hate to side with the English supporters here, but both are different situations. Labuschagne was standing outside the crease to negate Anderson's swing and thats why Bairstow was trying to stump/run him out.
I can't see that on the 4 second clip. Labuschagne leaves it, his feet are out of shot once it goes behind. Then Bairstow chucks the ball. His backfoot is on the crease at the time of the delivery as well.Look at his foot
