400 pitch. Would take having them 330-6ish end of day from here. Bowling just looks a tad below par overall. Shame, thought we would step it up a level with some match fitness.

They are gonna grind us right into the dirt with scoreboard pressure. Can we play both Wood & Tongue at Headingley just to have one quick and one rapid pace bowler option

England won't care about scoreboard pressure. We will either match the score in half the time or be 250 all out.

England need to move on from Anderson. How can you have 5 seamers and only one of those bowls even mid 80s? Such a toothless attack.

This is a mixture of Australia playing well and being generally just better and having a bit of good luck.

If you went back before the times of DRS England would have parity at the very least. The reprieves looked absolutely stone dead in real time.

I’ve only been able to watch on mute due to a work meeting but the umpiring so far has been terrible.

Yep they are batting well and England have bowled pretty averagely but they could easily be 180-5. Just got to stick in there, long old test match.

Remember the time when this was a very normal test match score. Seems like a disaster now

Basically saying England too casual, not giving much effort.

Also (sarc) what the odds Australia declare @390

Yeah was absolutely spot on,maybe if they spent less time golfing and more time on catching drills they might do better. Don't even get me started on the amount of no balls

Seems like every other ball Broad oversteps

Ahmed seems to have been on the pitch the entire time I've been watching. Is anyone in particular off, or are we just being especially shameless with the rotation?

Just hope there is still Ashes to actually play for when Wood comes in for Headingley
I don't think so. Australia are so good at just doing their thing and taking the game away from you. Atm, there is zero danger for them in this pitch and no scary pace to face. It'll be a mistake or a rare worldie to get this lot out.

England on the other hand, they'll go for this Baz Ball that looks good but it can easily got you out cheaply. Take the last test, England where praised for the Baz Ball approach but it only got them to a standard first innings total. The second innings was a disaster with batsman giving away their wickets.

Baz Ball may work some of the time but against a top team like Australia, they'll demolish you!

Sorry, it's been a negative kind of day

Australia have also had a fair amount of luck. Dropped catches (obviously that’s on England), inside edges somehow missing the stumps, lbw’s being over turned, that one that looped up similar to Brook’s dismissal.

I’m not suggesting they’re not good value for this score, but once again it feels like they’ve had key moments go their way. I think you have to in these conditions.

All very true. Head looks like every shot is 4 or out, that's luck. We just need a little
