English cricket thread

Trust the caf to get offended every time there are minor changes to the game. They've added shirt names, not changed the colour of clothing or something.

I assume there will be calls for blood in the Aussie press at this absolutely horrific display of non walking.

That bit seems unconfirmed (in yesterday's Guardian article I'm reading) but rumoured.

I can't say I'd miss either. Botham's probably my least favourite.

He's absolutely horrific. Grumpy old man who doesn't bother to do his homework, nor keep up with the news about the game. 90% of his commentary stints are spent with people just explaining shit he should know to him.

At least Gower knows where he is.

Wow... He hasn't been in bad form as far as I can remember.

Was looking forward to seeing him vs top order English batsman.

His record in England with a red ball is pretty average and it was felt during the warm up game he was bowling white ball lines and lengths and needed longer to adapt.

Andersons injury reminded me when Zaheer went off injured in the first test against England in 2011.

Thats' surprising.

Shocking decision by umpire to give smith out.

That's three wrong decisions since morning today
Pathetic.

Edit: Make it four.

I can sort of understand the first Smith one. You can maybe understand how he thought it was clipping when Smith didn't play a shot, but feck me that Wade one is atrocious.

Joel Wilson is a really poor umpire. I also think Aleem is out of form/maybe losing his touch.

I think its 5 bad calls

Warner edge
Warner LBW
Kahwaja edge
Smith LBW
Wade LBW.

Forgot about Khawaja dismissal.

So that makes a wrong decision every 35 balls. Impressive stuff.
