Because he's a test quality spinner playing against County batsmen who can't play spin.
He'll be playing for England this time next year.
This has been a great wicket for finals day.
Offers something for everyone and made it challenging for batters, instead of just being an violent slogfest.

Getting optimistic now, our bowling unit has been so good at times this year, but one big over for Essex will change everything.

I couldn't disagree more. I think it's been an atrocious pitch which has offered nothing to anybody apart from the spinners.

Seam bowlers like Brown and others have also done well. It’s a thinking players wicket forcing players to adapt.
Brown's been the only one and that's because his knuckle ball sticks in the pitch.
There's been nothing for anyone else and both Essex and Worcestershire. If the pitch is making Dan Lawrence look like a worldy and making Delport look like a bowler then it's not good enough.
Oh and can we all agree that wickets lost is a downright stupid way to decide a T20 match.

Super Over would be my preference, but if it's got to be decided 'in normal time' I'd go for boundary count. Surely that's more conducive to fan entertainment than wickets.

I think it should be super overs, until a clear winner is found. Agree wickets lost, no of boundary’s are stupid because they are meaningless. Like deciding in football because of corners or fouls conceded.

At least boundary count rewards a team, albeit in a stupid way, for trying to score runs. Deciding a T20 game because of wickets lost is almost directly antithetical to the point of this format.

that happens too often to be fair, the bowlers can only bail you out so many times. Still was a good day and could have been worse considering we lost both tosses, at least it was competitive

Fantastic day out as always, seeing my team there for the first time was epic, even if we did lose.
All we asked was that we don’t repeat the Leicester home performance where our shot selection would have embarrassed a Sunday league team and we were bowled out for 60 odd.
Weather superb and the 2 games either side of ours both decided on the last ball - can’t ask for much more than that from a day out!

Wicketkeeper Bairstow averages 20.25 in Tests this year, so Jos Buttler will take the gloves.
Warwickshire's Sibley and Kent's Crawley will compete for places at the top of the order.
Pace bowler Mahmood and leg-spinner Parkinson provide bowling cover.
Sibley, 24, is the only batsman to make more than 1,000 runs in Division One of the County Championship this season, while 21-year-old Crawley is highly regarded and has made 820 runs this summer.
Mahmood and Parkinson, both 22 and of Lancashire, have 21 and 19 wickets respectively in Division Two.
Mahmood gives back-up to a fast bowling unit that is without injured trio James Anderson, Mark Wood and Olly Stone, while Parkinson will be number two to left-arm spinner Jack Leach.
Surrey batsman Ollie Pope, who played two Tests in 2018, is recalled.

Pope and Sibley were the two I wanted most, along with Bairstow getting dropped at last so I'm pretty happy.
Bairstow deservedly dropped.
Had a great 2016 but been declining ever since and his last 12 months in Test cricket has been terrible.

When Vaughan talked about dropping one of the wicketkeepers last week I thought the Bairstow dropping on the cards. He's pretty clued in and you wondered whether he'd heard something.
Was also predictable they'd take both Sibley and Crawley. Might as well take them both away so they can practise against the likes of Archer and get experience around the squad.
As a Lancs fan, I don't think Mahmood or Parkinson are ready at all. Mahmood bowls first change for Lancs and isn't always effective in div 2. Due to the short-sighted way county cricket coaches operate, Parkinson doesn't always get a game in the red-ball team.

Yeah I think it's just injury related.
It was only Ireland but I thought Stone looked good against them, serious pace too which is always helpful. If he can stay fit then going down under in 2 years with Archer and Stone would be a big help.
Yeah. Shows how badly that experiment's gone that his dropping doesn't even warrant a mention.
That's a good looking squad with development in mind.
Wonder if it’s worth trying Crawley at #3 with Burns and Sibley opening, to me it’s well worth trying 3 openers in the top 3, must be easier for an opener to bat 3 rather than bumping up some in the middle order to 3.

If we really are building towards the Ashes, we need to start building a proper bowling attack and that means having a specialist quick to back up Broad and Archer. Don't think Stokes and Curran are the long-term solution.
Anyone able to tell me about Pat Brown or Tom Banton?
