Cook and Root need to bat cautiously now. 34/2.
Looks the best find since Cook. Worried about his back, though. That's not a problem that's going to go away.Joe Root is unbelievable.
And we already know he can do it in the sub-continet.
I'd be fecking amazed if England got a lead like that. You almost feel pity for the Aussies..almost. This is truly shambolic batting, England should bat out to a lead of 400 or more and bring them in again for another beating..

Batting is unlikely to be easy in the morning. Even if we get through that, the new ball should do a lot of damage.
Yes its a high lead, and they might not even need it too, but I think the Australian players have given up...they will be no fight left in them..but England should push on , no mercy whatsoeverI'd be fecking amazed if England got a lead like that.

England don't need 400 or even 300 runs lead. Even in normal situations, lead of 200 is a big advantage. Add to that how Australia are batting right now, England might not even need to bat again even if they get a lead of 225-250. It will take one of the greatest miracles ever for Australia to escape defeat this match. Unless it rains a lot. England supporters can relax and enjoy!

Captaincy probably. Career, I'm not sure. Depends on how bad his back is these days.Is it safe to say the Michael Carke's captaincy and probably his career is over?
He barely made it to the world cup because of injuries, and it appears he has lost the dressing room..I would walk away if I were him..three world cups, what more is there to play for? With the injuries and the scrutiny that will follow this, It may be better to just walk awayCaptaincy probably. Career, I'm not sure. Depends on how bad his back is these days.
EDIT - He's doing the 'spirit of cricket' lecture, at Lords, this year. That'll be fun for him...
Quite possibly but it'll be down to him. I think he's still good enough to get in this side, if he's fit enough and he wants to.He barely made it to the world cup because of injuries, and it appears he has lost the dressing room..I would walk away if I were him..three world cups, what more is there to play for? His form isnt though, it then comes to a point of being pushed out or walking away honourably.Quite possibly but it'll be down to him. I think he's still good enough to get in this side, if he's fit enough and he wants to.
Exactly, and its not like he has been leading well either due to the supposed fallouts with some playersThe fact he is captain has actually extended his place in the side, anyone else with his form would have been dropped quite a while ago.
Oh, I think he'll resign the captaincy. Australia are heading to Bangladesh next, so that's a nice start for a new captain (Smith - obviously). I wouldn't be surprised if Clarke ruled himself out of that one but then left it up to the selectors, after a break. His form isnt though, it then comes to a point of being pushed out or walking away honourably.

South Africa, who havent lost a test series away since 2006 should have lost the first test there recently, but were saved by the Monsoon rains..Its not a nice place to visit anymore, in fact its probably one of the worst considering the fact that the Australian public will be expecting a win, based on previous historyOh, I think he'll resign the captaincy. No. It's harder than it used to be but it's still the easiest.South Africa, who havent lost a test series away since 2006 should have lost the first test there recently, but were saved by the Monsoon rains..Its not a nice place to visit anymore, in fact its probably one of the worst considering the fact that the Australian public will be expecting a win, based on previous history
It would be glorious if Bangladesh were able to compound the dismay. I have my doubts, though. They still only have one good player...
He's been the one, of late. Turned himself in to one of the better wicket keeper batsman going.Shakib? He is their greatest player without doubt till date but as a team too they have improved. Openers have become consistent.Mushfiqur always seems consistent, Mahmadullah, Soumya Sarkar etc guys contribute. Bowling is not a strong point of theirs but Mustafizur has been a revelation. Two very good series to start career with vs India and South Africa. Otherwise too their fast bowling unit looks better.
Outside Bangladesh they will still be odds-on to lose easily but in Bangladesh they are very tough.
My point is that facing an underdog that is pumped up, especially when morale is low isnt the best scenario to be in. If you win, then no no one cares, but if you lose..the pitchforks are out.No. It's harder than it used to be but it's still the easiest.
I think that's negated by the fact Australia will be a team desperate to get back to winning ways.My point is that facing an underdog that is pumped up, especially when morale is low isnt the best scenario to be in. If you win, then no no one cares, but if you lose..the pitchforks are out.
It is now.Not finished yet.
Our latest results at home have been very impressive as of late, so it's not going to be easy.

I hope so!Our latest results at home have been very impressive as of late, so it's not going to be easy.
Shakib, Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah, Sarkar and even Tamim have been solid batsmen the last few ODIs. Bowling wise, we've been surprisingly good with Taskin and Mustafizur delivering great performances. I think you'll be in for a surprise.
But then you make mistakes under pressure..but we'll see . but lets hope they contune losing..200 lead now for England..on day 1I think that's negated by the fact Australia will be a team desperate to get back to winning ways.
