England vs Bangladesh

I went to bed thinking there'd be no play today. Still a bit dazed at the score.

Don't know what to say really. I thought these sorts of performances were behind us.

India and Pakistan have suffered similar fate on a overcast days in the past. It's no embarassment.

ICC should have training camps in England to develop players to play in these conditions for members such as Bangladesh and Afghanistan to improve standards.

Honestly i wouldn’t be to disheartened, under those conditions James Anderson is the most lethal exponent of Swing in world cricket, there’s no shame in him ripping through yours or any teams top order....as Sultan said plenty of teams have been wiped out in England on overcast muggy days where the ball swings and sub continental bastmen especially simply cant live with the moving ball.

There were times in the Ashes last summer where England pretty much bowled out the entire Aussie batting line up in a session in far less helpful conditions.

Shahzad's bowling at 90mph. I thought he was medium fast?! And Bangladesh clearly doesn't have rain clouds.

Like I was saying before the game, he has the potential to be the new Darren Gough or Simon Jones. A skiddy bowler who bowls at the stumps, just what England has been lacking. If he can work on his reverse swing he could become a permanent fixture in the team

Exactly what Boycott said on TMS yesterday...

Correct.

Jimmy is a frustrating bowler though - you worry about him on flat wickets out in Australia.

On that subject - i've just booked a month in Oz and will be at the 2nd and 3rd tests

Partly funded by Middlesex academy :D

It would be interesting to see actual statistics how he's coped on flat wickets overseas.

Anywhere near first team yet?

Bloody hell jammy git! I'd love to go and see tests down under. I have high hopes for England in the ashes series this winter.

TBH i'm just taking advantage of their facilities at the moment Sults.
I'm not committed to making it as a cricketer, and in reality probably don't have the talent anyway. I've been a bit out of my depth in their U-19's. One 50 in a winter tour, and a load of 30-odds.

They'll let me play this summer, and go play some club cricket in Australia and them probably sack me off when they realise i spent the whole time drinking beer whilst watching the Ashes

Shame, but like i said - my hearts not in it anymore.

I can't wait mate.

I'm still dubious that our current bowling attack can consistently take 20 wickets down there.

I really don't think it can to be honest. Anderson and Broad will struggle to take 15 wickets between them. Swann will enjoy bowling on the bouncier surfaces, but I'm not sure you've got the sort of seamers who can succeed with a Kookuburra ball with the sun beating down.

There's also the 4 bowler vs 5 bowler debate. Personally I reckon 5 bowlers is the way to go, given that you've got Broad and Swann who are both basically all-rounders who can be reasonably relied on to get runs in the lower order.

Actually Broad might fare alright on the pitches down here.

Keep at it mate even if its just village cricket! An don't worry bout drinking beer instead of concentrating on your game, thats how cricket should be!

GET THE feck IN THERE!

Breaking news on the local channels...local kids setting of firecrackers...

hehehehe

finally a win after 24 consecutive losses, and also a win against England in any form of the game!

I'll savour it tonight, because we will of course go on another losing run now, but for tonight, Bangladesh, You Beauty!!!!!!!

Well done to Bangladesh they deserve their day, think England were a bit unlucky though i mean had Bell been fit to bat at 3 as he would have England would have more than likely won after all wed have only needed him to make 6 and his record against Bangladesh is out of this world.

Still think England need to get this 50 over team sorted as i dont think its right, unlucky today with the injury of Bell but the idea of the 6 batsmen was good i just hope they stick to it, against the australians it was clear the tail started at 6 and England were a batter light, Bells been in great form for over a year now so when he gets back he should be in the team at 3 and the rest go down 1, Bresnan is not an international bowler ive been saying this ever since he started playing at this level (1 wicket in 5 matches against australia in the last series!!) and Luke wright is taking us back to the days of bits and pieces players.

1. Strauss
2. Kieswetter
3. Bell
4. Pietersen
5. Collingwood
6. Morgan
7. Yardy
8. Swann
9. Broad
10.Shahzad
11.Anderson

When their fit that should be the 50 over side.
