England V India

Still can't see us winning this really, India might go for it a bit but if they lose wickets it will be blocking all day.

Draw. Maybe.

Seeing how it looks very unlikely that India can post a winning total, strategy could be to just block. But I don't really think thats the best course of action. Sure Dravid is the master, but with the intensity that certainly Flintoff will bowl with tommorow, its hard to fathom the Indian batsmen maintaining their concentration throughout the whole day. That is something they will need to block out for a whole day.

India, I think, messed up by sending in Pathan as an opener. If they didn't fancy a batter surviving (and they've got the best defensive player in the world there in Dravid) then Kumble should have been sent in first up. As it is, they've lost a batsman who England would be scared of if it got to about 150 to win with 4 or 5 standing.

Media would have shred dravid into pieces if he had opened and got out early. Already happened in Pakistan.

That's really poor that. It causes your action to fall on release, when the opposite is the best. Changing his action though, might not be for the best.

he's always done that. it's what works for him. trying to change his action against SA in '03 only served to feck him up.

i'm so chuffed for him :D

:D :D :D

With Sehwag and Tendulkar not being 100% going into this match I don't think India will go for the win, unless someone players a blinder of an innings tomorrow I can only see an England win or most probably a draw.

India have no chance of winning this one IMO, I would say it could go either way with the draw or England win.

Here we go, the fifth and final day of the final test, can England do it, game on.

anyone got any streams or pplive links to the match?

There is one on page 27 or 28 which you can use, not sure if it's still working, paste it into your winamp.

Going for the draw obviously. Its going to be a long hard day.

This partnership is crucial. Yuvraj, Dhoni & Sehwag are basically strokeplayers (though i'm not sure if Sehwag is anything at all currently) and won't be able to drag it out.

All out, India hammered, Udal rips 'em to bits.

India are fecking shite.

:)

Bah! Missed all the action travelling to work.

Brilliant performance by Engalnd though.

Udal > Tendulkar

What a performance, great stuff from the team and well done to shaun udal. This captaincy lark seems to have brought out the best in freddie especially his batting and the bowling changes today were brave and worked very well.:) :) :)

A great result. All things considering.

Shuan Udal today has proved that he's the greatest spinner in the world. Well done, young chap.

England, had the better of the series. And a draw is a moral victory for any visiting team.

Flintoff ..fecking part timer who discovered some big time against the Aussies.

Kanoute's better.

But of course, we're only at the same level as the Windies aren't we....

Great performance, very enjoyable series. Freddie captained the team magnificently, and what we have seen here, in some ways makes me feel better about the health of English cricket than the Ashes victory. We seem to have good strength in depth, a good mix of youth and experience and most importantly a hunger and attitude that can carry us a long way.

Roll on the summer!

We've got Lanka and Pakistan, this summer, have we not?

Pakistan return series should be a cracker.

Then it's the Ashes. So all in all, we'll have played in some tough series over an 18 month period. Ashes at home, Pakistan away, India away and Ashes away. Four best teams in the world. Doesn't get more tougher than that.

Five if you include South Africa just over a year ago.

Yes. Although, I don't think they're anywhere near in the class of the teams we've played over the last 8 months. But an away victory in South Africa is always a great achievement, I guess.

Congratulations England on a immaculate victory. Absolutely stunning, given all the factors conspiring against them...Flintoff has risen in my eyes to another level.

The series comes to the end with two very matched teams sharing the plaudits. Congratulations to both teams - I'm happy with the outcome.
