England V India

Well that wasn't very good. Terrible decision with the Pieterson one, it was clearly not out.

Nah... don't think it's competitive enough

However, if the Aussies could lose after making 434, anything's possible

thing is.. 70 overs

India can comfortably make it, with just over 2 RPO

Oh dear, England B are a bit rubbish. England B weren't that good in Pakistan either. I wonder how England B will fare with Pakistan in England next summer. Confidence is very low at the moment.

Maybe another round of OBEs might remove some complacency and delusions of grandeur? ;)

It took 16 years for them to win back the Ashes after getting thrashed consistently once in every two years. After a freak win against the Aussies they are already spouting self appreciative crap like... the second best team in history of the world…. Clueless Barmies.

Not really.

I'm still hoping someone will come down the pitch and smash Panesar's face. And re-align his eyebrows.

Well played you English cnuts.Did the equivalent of a Stevie G backpass in this game.

That said...I think the Indians finally bowled brilliantly to restrict them to 181.

Munaf gives the attack that edge.RP Munaf and Pathan the three main bowlers ATM.

lol:
Take that feckers.
That should teach them to finally stop overrating their players and teams like spastics. No bottle, only Flintoff showed some bottle with the bat.. the rest just crumbled. Couldnt handle Kumble, couldnt handle Patel. And their bowling is well overrated.

What an effort from Kumble.. absolute legend. His control and in particular his length was incredible. Those 4 deliveries to Flintoff said it all. Special mention for Munav Patel.. i thought all we had were slow medium pacers..? This kids got some talent. And also Rahul Dravid.. what can i say about him.. for so long in Ganguly and Sachins shadow, now its clearly his time. There isnt a batsman like him in world cricket and hes certain to go down as one of test crickets best ever.

Come on then, where are the excuses?
That they let us win ofcourse. The excuses had started before the series began.

Not great. Cook was always going to be more vulnerable this time, putting more responsibility on Strauss to get us off to a good start, again he failed miserably.

Shame we didn't have our full team out.

I'm shocked we haven't been whitewashed in all honesty. India are shit.

Ah well...Mumbai next.

Hope it isn't anything like the pitch the poor Ozzies had to play on when they were there. Else we'll never hear the end of the moans on here. I'd like a decent cricket pitch please. Bit like the one we got here. Both the pacers and spinners got something but it wasn't a minefield by any means.

You're missing your captain, who hasn't played a decent innings for the past 3 years. You're missing Trescothick, who isn't really missed yet because Cook has shown he has the temperament. You're missing Jones, who I suppose could've made a difference.

Face it..for all your idiotic excuses, there isn't a player in that team of yours, aside from Hoggard or Flintoff, who might be assured of his place or looks even test class at times(fingers pointed to Panesar, Jones, Blackwell)

You got beat.Your lot were batting so poorly yesterday that it was almost comical...Bell and Strauss were playing right into Kumble and Harbhajan's hands.

I hope it turns square.

Bowl them out twice in two days and send them back.Who gives a feck if the idiots moan?Tell them to get some quality spinners then.

Oh actually, according to Spoony, Panesars better than Kumble and Harbhajan combined..so we could get bowled out by him.

Feel sorry for Montyboy though..he bowled pretty well towards the latter half..all of two overs accurate. All he got was a bruise on his arse,

It's at times like in our second innings that experience counts for a lot, and missing Vaughan and Trescothick really makes a difference.

Obviously playing on pitches that offer nothing to our bowlers doesn't help either.

England v Australia
Old Trafford, Manchester
11,12,13,14,15 August 2005

1st innings

MP Vaughan 166 runs from 215 balls.

I agree mate, nothing in 3 years.

:D

I was worried he'd got a hundred odd in the Ashes which I'd forgotten.Sorry about that.

I still think he's shit though.

The thing is...you lot would never have accepted the loss anyway.

He seemed to lose the plot after taking the captaincy and staying at the top of the order longer than was good for him. Prior to all this, he was justifiably number 1 in the world rankings. He is a good player, but when I think of a full strength team and look at who might score the big runs, then there are at least 4 players I'd look to before Vaughan.
