England V India

Oh dear this doesn't look good.Pietersen was out. India's going to bottle this up...have a bad feeling.Bah!

What the feck are Yank idiots doing in a cricket thread??

Weird
England should be throwing their bat around, try to score quick 40-50 and then get India in.

Does Amol still think the game is evenly poised except that India have to bat last?

England might as well keep batting here, if they declare the Indians would just go off for bad light.

Or not.

That's stumps. I thought they could have an extra half an hour if they wanted.

346 should be enough of a lead to send India in to chase.

I was laughing so hard I failed to notice Cook getting his century or stumps.

When are we going to declare?

By the sounds of it England will put India straight in to bat tomorrow morning.

Flintoff should have gone in before Colly.

Perhaps, but even so, 366 is a huge lead. Although, I'd still be tempted to bat on for 5 overs tomorrow, and go hell for leather.

as for Collingwood. He tried his best to scuff up pitch. All legal of course.

And Harmison, we need him to get his arse into gear, tommorrow. I'd much rather he bowled a more fuller length at high pace. . .in short spells, rather than that innocuous medium pace he's been bowling. He's been used as a stock bowler. When in fact he's a very good striker bowler and should be used like one.

So does it look like a draw, or does India have a bit of work to do to keep England from winning?

(See, I'm trying folks.)

I watched some of this cricket while on holiday, and I must say I enjoyed it. The hats are a bit gay though, and it's far to complicated for my liking.

Why is there an Indian bloke in the English team? Is that some strange cricket rule?
Yes. Every team is supposed to field one player from the opposing teams nationality.

They've got a match on their hands. Last day, big target, loads of pressure. It's going to be interesting that's for sure.

Monty's as English as you can get. We're a cosmopolitan nation. Unlike some others. . .

Obviously. Any team should be expected to bat out the last day and get a draw on this track. No guarantees though and were always liable to feck it up. First session and a half should decide it.

And I've yet to see these 'great' Indian spinners, that were meant to take the piss out of our batting.

Maybe they weren't trying.

It happens.. maybe you didnt support your team the last time England came to India and collapsed from 100 odd for one i think to 240 all out and looked lost against Harbhajan and Kumble all game.

Sound a little wound up.

They're not all that great, if we're honest. And as Monty's proved, a good spinner can take wickets on this track. (against 'the best players of spin in the entire universe', I must add).

Monty - the only decent spinner on show.

Not really.. sounds a little odd because you actually seem to believe all the rubbish you talk.

So your trying to say Indians arent the best players of spin in the world? And Kuble and Harbhajan not that great? You should give credit to your batsman for playing them well.. Sure, i dont think theyv bowled their best but they consistantly make a mockery of top batsman on Indian soil.. their record proves it. Im not saying they are individually the best spinners ever, Murli and Warne are far far ahead. Infact TBH Harbhajan after at times being bloody unbelievable has quite often not lived up to expectations or standards in recent times. But as a spin duo it cant get better than these two, shame they havent stepped up this time.

No, they're not that great. Monty's better than both put together. He's like a spinning duo all roled up in one turban.

Monty was turning it on day 3.
He is not good. I would say even Giles is probably better since he atleast loops it up more than monty. Even that delivery he got kaif with, was n't that good as it is made out to be. Kaif just played down the wrong line.

I would not be surprised if we bottle it tomorrow, though IMO England had agreat opportunity to score 60-70 runs quickly and put India in with a target of 360+. After KP got out, the slowed down again.

England have been the better team so far, poor stuff by India.

Monty.
Crouchy.

All I know is that I'm following this match through the text commentary and that's no where near adequate.
