Good century
Would be interesting to see how Suryakumar Yadav would do in place of Rahane and maybe a Mayank Agarwal instead of Pujara.Surely it has to now. Even Rahane I will say if he doesn't fire soon.
KL Rahul with a text book test innings in these conditions. 100 odd balls for the first 20 and the next 80 in a little over 100 balls.Really good stuff from India. Came through the challenging first hour & played some excellent Test cricket.
You can always trust Kohli to go fishing for the ball way outside off stump and throw away his wicketWatching a team bat well all day is so painful. (Except England, of course)
The new ball hasn't done much to cheer me up either!
Edit: Bye Kohli, never had any doubts!

Tbf that's on the bowler. Root didn't look convinced but decided to trust his bowler, incorrectly of courseRoots reviews

As a tonic for today's test, Yorkshire hitting 200 in the Hundred was something
Pujara is surely done now. Also Rahane is painful to watch. Wonder if SKY can replace either of them or is it going to be Iyer?
Gill to open with Rohit. Rahul to 3, then Kohli. Vihari at 5?At this rate I would even prefer Ashwin as a middle order ahead of Rahane.
I hope our pacers do the trick. From the look of it this track doesn't look like a 4 pacer one. Not picking ash could backfire.
Ashwin is massively underappreciated by the Kohli-Shastri management. If it were to them they would pick Chahal in Tests too, luckily he is trash. I am fine dropping Ashwin in a green track but even then you need to have a number 8 who can bat. Having Shami as your number 8 is just making a fool out of yourself. It may work on rare occasions but it is just not sustainable.Added to that he is a quality batsman, at a time when two of the specialist batsmen are woefully out of form.

It's a good start from the lads but I always fear the restart. We often look nervy after a break.
