England v India 2021 Cricket Test Series

I guess 'batting last' in theory at least shouldn't be so difficult in this game when it's likely to be a Day 3/4 pitch rather than 4/5. Sure either team would make good work of making it look unplayable though.

Woakes is a proper cricketer.

He’s easily one of England’s best cricketers across all formats, as someone said earlier in the thread should be one of the first names on the team sheet

The pitch is honestly quite flat now. Could easily see England post a lead of more than 100, Woakes is a decent bat too.

Close.

Yeah, though a way off your 150+ shout! Significantly above my expectations though. That was a throwback to a few years ago when England would cobble together an ok score via enough people getting 30-40 rather than anyone going massive, but special mention to Pope for stepping up in particular, especially with how things were when he came in. Woakes great at the end too.

Last night there were long shadows on the pitch quite a long time before end of play so England should be looking to capitalise on that tonight.

You said 150 the page before. Throw enough predictions out there one will be right

It was far closer than whatever you englishmen were throwing out, so I'll take it.

England top order missed out here, this was a great opportunity to get a huge score and win the game . England in a good position but this is a pretty flat pitch now

I didn’t throw anything out there. Most were saying 50 lead, which was technically closer than 150

I’m only playing anyway, but I’m not sure why people keep bothering with predictions in this series. India have as much chance of pulling out a 300 lead as they do 30 here.

They’ve nearly played on quite a few times already. England lost a few that way too.

Would be great if England could get a wicket before close.

Most sensible post today.

Great opportunity to bat big today. England need something out of nothing to get the ball rolling.

Urgh, swore loudly when that was overturned. Would have been a big wicket.

Umpiring has been fairly atrocious in this match. Three completely overturned LBW decisions.

Very tough chance that one, inclined to put it down as unlucky.

Yeah it would have been an exceptional catch, but England need one of these chances to stick. If India can get rid of the whole lead without losing a wicket think it definitely puts them in the driving seat.

Bowlers are doing well given pitch isn't doing much - need a few batting mistakes.

Woakes has bowled very well - as he always does at home.

I always kind of forget how good he is, but in English conditions he's a brilliant player to have in the side. Proved what he can do with the bat yesterday too.

Sky making quite a thing of how good a series the Indian openers have had which surprised me. I wouldn't have really picked any of the batters out for having a good series other than Root.

I saw a tweet yesterday I think saying in England he averages 35 with the bat and 22 with the ball

Anyone here play cricket know why batsmen sometimes point at the handle? How can the handle make a sound when playing that shot?

that looked pretty out to me

Wow that's a horrendous review.

What’s a lead at which india become favourites? 240?
