England v India 2021 Cricket Test Series

Brilliant comeback for England.

Good win for England. Well played and deserved. As for Kohli and management I hope they set aside their ego and play their best spinner.
What's going on with Ashwin? Any issues?

I expect 2-3 changes. Ashwin for ishant, jadeja for vihari, surya for rahane.

If Ashwin plays, jadejas spin is not needed, and so as a batter you’re better off getting a 6 in, moving Pant to 7. That accommodates Vihari well.

Rahane has to go simply because he’s been poor for so long.

Not sure why anyone’s surprised by this result, India’s batting in these conditions is way under par. Can’t rely on the bowling to blow teams away every innings, expect England to sweep 3-1 now.
You think one innings proves English batsman are good? Apart from Root, all have had a horrible series and with both teams struggling most of the times with their batting line up failing, it will be very close. Still see India taking this series 2-1.

It's still wide open. India wont get many better chances to win in England. They had us on the ropes after Lords.

Kholi has a face that makes him look like he’s going to be a total arsehole but actually when you hear him talk seems a decent guy

I think it’s the sharp beard

You are dreaming. No way there will be 4 changes.

I personally think India have got their balance right and in England it’s just very hard to play a 2+3 combination. Ashwin is definitely the better spinner but Jadeja has been impressive with the bat over the last 2 years which is something they need with the 4 seamers being not so good with the bat. Their only other alternative IMO is playing Ashwin in place of Jadeja and then playing Shardul for some more batting depth

England's other batsmen haven't performed but I think 'horrible' is a bit harsh.

Burns has been ok-ish but crying out for a decent partner. Hameed is an out and out opener and reluctant no. 3, so it makes sense that he's now opening. Malan has just been drafted in and looked the part.

Bairstow has had one score and three other starts where he's looked in decent nick. Not a bad series, but not a good one. He's still chipped in, though, and he's looked good batting with Root with his bottom hand aggression and hard running between the wickets.

England rejigged their order and it has worked pretty well for one test. I just think that Sibley and Lawrence were holding England back massively and Crawley was never a number three, and neither was Hameed. The batting order has more balance to it now although four left handers is not ideal.

 He can be a real dick many times on the field as he is a very passionate bloke, but he is usually very balanced when giving post match pressers or interviews. He even said that although Messi is more talented, Ronaldo was an absolute great. So that should make the United faithful like him more :p

To be honest, I didn't watch much of this Test match. The previous ones seemed like England were a Root dismissal away from being completely blown away. Maybe they have improved with that rejig, but I feel one innings is not enough to sample it.

No Ashwin again. Very bizzare.

I can't understand it at all? Any murmurings of fallouts or fitness?

Nope, nothing and to be fair the stronghold of Kohli is so strong that hardly any journalist will report any problems.

Kohli really said in interview that England has four left handers so a good matchup for Jadeja. Unbelievable stubbornness.

Pujara to play 90 balls for 8 runs and get out. Cricinfo wank themselves over the innings and any criticism against it is labelled as against test match cricket.

Wait for our middle order to arrive, they'll make this look like a minefield.

Yes both teams batting line ups have the potential to make any pitch look like a minefield.

And yet there's decent argument to make that both are amongst the best in the world.

To be fair I think international test pitches are much more bowling friendly now.

.
Kohli is really playing with fire with such comments.

I genuinely wonder what Ashwin needs to do to get a game here.
This has been shocking management by Kohli and nothing else. He is powerful so you won't have many journalists question him either. Even if we lose this series no one will say much.
