England Tour of India

I must be blind but I just don't understand the praise for Rehan Ahmed bowling. The commentators keep on praising him every over and he keeps on bowling two crap balls every over.

For a young leggie he's pretty accurate. Needs his stock leg break to start turning more.

Thought he bowled really well last test match. Ok so far here, pretty meh.

Jurel’s showing good shot selection here. Not doing anything rash.

A few quick questions on the Dharamsala test match if anyone has any info!

Are tickets fairly easy to get hold of? How cold will it be!? Cool city to hang out in?

Watching Cricket in India...what's the food and drink situation in the ground?

Cheers!

Dharamshala is cool but there's McLeodganj nearby which is a big tourist spot, you can go always there. Dharamshala is hilly so it should be quite cool.

You can't drink alcohol in Indian stadiums so don't try.

Nice - I guessed the alcohol part as whenever it cuts to the Brits none of them have a beer (they look sad).

I try to avoid flying wherever possible. Is Delhi to Dharamsala a well served public transport route?

Yes, you can get loads of very comfortable buses.

Try redBus.in.

It's an overnight journey.

Yeah it is but it's kind of long journey around 10 hrs I reckon

I think I saw Delhi -> Dharamshala flights for fairly cheap..

I hate flying too

Another drop, Jurel is getting into shell. Now needs to hit out.

England have been fairly shambolic.
3 dropped catches, 2 LBWs decision reviews not taken.

Yeah shame, we've fielded really well on this tour until today.

(DRS less so...)

Pretty shit knock after tea from him - out three times!

Agreed with you and Zing that pre tea he batted quite nicely.

India have looked confused batting with the tail all series.

So 415 then. Don't expect Bumrah or Siraj to score much.

Decent recovery after 33/3.

15 more would be nice

One advantage India have this test compared to prior is that Kuldeep, Jadeja, Ashwin is better variety than having Axar in there. It's the first time this series those 3 are playing together

I’m scared to put the tv on. This has all the feelings of a top order collapse coming up. Long days in the field, dropped catches, big score despite England being positioned well a few times.

Think Bumrah's runs have pushed us ahead in the game here. This is an excellent score from 30 for 3.

Siraj and Ashwin have learned from that first test(I think?) where they both unnecessarily went for the big heave. Siraj just letting runs come from the other end and playing behind the line.. sensible

Definetly what would normally happen.

Right when I said that he did a dumb reverse sweep and seems to ahve injured himself

Someone in this thread bet on 3 wickets for Wood - that is a very good bet..

Finishes with 4

That Bumrah classic tail swinging has put to bed any question of which team will be happier.

We need more than some lovely 70s and 80s this time. Someone has to go big, probably two tons needed.

Joe Root anyone?

Much better than I expected at 331-7. But once again we have left around 50-60 runs on the field mostly thanks to jadeja's hate of happy father son relationships.

I think this is overly pessimistic view tbh.

445 is an excellent score

I'd have taken 450 at start of play. Solid score given our bowling
This pitch looks an Ashwin dream in the making.

Potentially Kuldeep too.

Personal prediction is we'll do well to make 300.

A proper pessimist would have mentioned you were 326-5.

It's a good score but it should have been better, in recent times our batting has consistently refused to carry their weight it's always the lower order bailing them out. Even now I don't think there is enough in the pitch the only good thing I am seeing is the the little turn we saw came from middle of the pitch and staying low a lot more consistently today.

You've had big hundreds from Jaiswal, Gill, Rohit, and Jadeja in this series! We are not even halfway through the third test!

We'd kill for that!

But we aren't England, we should be better than England at home. Rohit finally coming to the party is nice but both jaiswal and gill's innings were lone bright spots in rather mediocre overall scores. You can't keep scoring 300 on 350-375 wickets especially when most of it is down to a lot of brain dead batting as it was yesterday which saw us 35-3 on a pitch with little help for pace or spin.

Duckett extremely lucky to survive that over.

Duckett really annoying Michael Vaughan on the BBC which can only be a good thing.

How about 450? Were you honestly going into that innings thinking that they should score 500?

It’s a fantastic score on a pitch that is predicted to break up from tomorrow onwards.
