England Cricket 2016 - Sri Lanka & Pakistan

Sachin converted 90s to 100s 51 times.

Oh, it must have been conversion percentage from 90s  Ignore me.

They've worded it to confuse me.

"That is Younus' fourth century against England. It's his second in England. He made 173 at Headingley in 2006. It's his fourth quickest century. He has converted 30 of his scores in the nineties to 100, going past Don Bradman's 29."

He has 32 centuries. He's been out in the 90s only once or twice.

Long day, Tommy?

I was up watching TI6 at 5am, then I had to sort the dog out before the groomers came at 8:30. Had a nap on the sofa halfway through the day switching between Sky & TMS :D

If you heard it on the radio, though, you'd agree they worded it a bit weirdly! I mean damn, look at the quote...

No mention of the word consecutively or conversion rate  I'm cutting myself some slack!

That is less than helpful of them.

Is a good stat, though.

Wahab doing a good job staying in while Younis scores. Great morning for Pakistan.

'Bairstow is comfortably the better batsman (than Sarfraz)' - Gower

I know Bairstow has had an amazing year but really?

Bairstow's had more than an amazing year to be fair.

'Comfortably' might be pushing it, but I do think he's the better bat.

I do agree with Warne though that Sarfraz is probably the best keeper/batsman in the world. Can't think of anyone whose as good with both the bat and the gloves as him.

Quinton De Kock?

Yup, this. Yesterday Gower was saying 'Sarfraz can bat a bit'. That's a tad harsh on a guy averaging in the mid 40s.

@NinjaFletch Yeah fair enough, he's been quite unlucky with injuries IIRC. Once he gets over them, I think he'll establish himself as the best.

This is a match winning inning from Younis here. England are in big trouble.

Bairstows a better bat than Sarfraz. He could easily bat in the top 5 for England

Pakistan should try to whack 50-60 more runs in the next 10 overs or so and then try to get a bowl in these overcast conditions.

No point just hanging around.

They're scoring well enough to not declare with half the match still left to play. If England don't bat well in the next innings, a fourth might not even be needed.

... Especially with catches like that.

England massively miss Stokes in an innings like this, just gives them the bit of bite that is lacking from the bowlers on show today.

Pakistan doing really well should get close to 500 now

Bairstow a bit lucky with that stumping, agree with others his glove work needs improvement.

Massively, still don't think he will be England's long term keeper. Especially when you consider he would get into the England side with his batting alone.

Well played Moeen, always a special feeling getting two centuries in the same game.

Agreed but they're both really good batsmen to be fair for keepers.

I'm not yet convinced by Sarfraz as a really good batsman, hasn't looked that impressive in this series. And the stats show he has an average of 20 outside of subcontinental pitches. I just don't think he could be in the Pakistan team on his batting alone. Having said that he would be my choice as keeper for a World XI. Just better allround than the likes of Bairstow and De Kock.

Technically he has the flair to be better than what he is. He doesn't make big scores though.

Easy Pakistan win this. No chance.

Hard to say after the first match, but I agree.

If Pakistan go in with a lead of 175, we need to score at least 350-400 to give ourselves a sniff.

Only the second player in history to score double centuries against six test playing nations (other is Sangakarra).

That batting performance was massively out of character for us, and even then it was touch and go for a long while. They've already got more to do and I don't have any faith they can repeat the escape.

Wow that's amazing. What a great batsman Younus has been, thought he was personally done this series given how much of a drop it's been but he's really pulled it out in the past couple of days.

Brilliant! Has looked so much better this game. Shown his class when we really needed it.

Agree, England have no chance of winning. And the batting is too fragile to battle for a draw. Think Pakistan will just have to chase a relatively low score to win.

The way this game is going I think making them bat again might be too much of an ask.
