The improvement he has made under Klopp has been nothing short of astounding. Seems to be getting better with every game.

If he keep this up, he'll be the best midfielder in the league next season.

Jinxed him :(

But yeah, he's been amazing. Really has everything in his locker, just needs to keep the consistency he's shown under Klopp. Without him last night it could've turned out a lot different.

 Remember when everyone said how great he was under Rodgers?

Still, Premier league ain't the same unless there's a scouse best midfielder in the world in it I suppose. Otherwise we're lumped with Dembele.

He still has a lot of areas that he can improve in. He can drive forward with the ball and look completely clueless at times like he doesn't know what to do in the opposition's final third. He's been great since the COC final though. I think that's when Klopp moved him to CDM and he's looked great ever since. I'm not sure if he'll ever be the best in the league but he's certainly got a lot of potential.

Rodgers persisting with him as a CB in a back three was fine for a couple of months but eventually everyone realised he wasn't naturally a centre back and he was found out. I think Klopp saved Emre Can from being written off entirely as another poor Liverpool signing.

If everyone plays to their best then he wouldn't even come close to that. I like him though, classy player and been brilliant since Klopp arrived.

I've erased most of last season from my memory, but wasn't Rodgers only playing Can in the back 3 (with Skrtel and Sahko) because there weren't many better options available? I just find it hard to believe that Rodgers actually thought Can's best position was in defence, if he was trying to turn him into a defender than.. wow. He's our next captain imo and he has amazing potential.

Emre Can often looks like the best player and the most calamitous and brainless player on the pitch, all in the same game. One moment he'll be bossing the midfield, the next he'll be doing stepovers facing his own goal and try to keep hold of the ball like he's got boots made of trampoline.

He's got all the technique, but he constantly over-commits. Great excuse to post this, but his sums up a fair bit.

He's dead-set on being a blood and thunder sort of player, but he should compose himself a bit. He does some proper daft stuff, but he is a good player. Klopp seems to be ironing out his brainfarts, but he still has a good few.

He really looks great at the moment. With Gündogan now out, I'm quite happy that he's back already and will be part of the Euro squad. I just hope Löw stops playing him at rightback and sees him as an option in midfield.

That frustrated me as well when England played Germany. He's awful at centre back and full back. He played at right back for Leverkusen against United a couple of years ago and Valencia ripped him apart that night (at least I think it was Valencia).

Is he supposed to be first choice at RB for Germany?

If he played at RB I doubt it would have been Valencia. Was probably Nani.

No clue what Löw's plans are for the fullback positions. I personally hope he invites Kimmich and gives him a chance or gives Ginter a real chance. We'll see what happens ahead of the friendlies. The rest of the team is more obvious but the fullback positions are really a problem.

I think he played leftback in that 5-0 win in Leverkusen, Donati was their regular rightback.

Good point. Maybe Can played LB. I'm sure it was Valencia who tore him apart.

I thought Ginter looked good for Dortmund from what I saw of him during our games with them. He seems to have a lot of energy and can get up and down the pitch really well to support the attack. He's got to be a better option for right back than Can is.

Khedira and Can together in midfield? Everything is better than Özil, Khedira and Kroos. Still those two players are way too similar.

More like a back up for Khedira, who still struggles with little injuries all the time and might not be available in all games during the tournament. Both together can't work, that's one headless chicken too many.

Wasn't really impressed in the EuroU21 when Germany got trashed by us but this year he has impressed me.

4 months ago I would have agreed fully. Had all the tools and none of the glue to put it all together.

He's cut down a lot on the sloppy mistakes though, his positioning has improved a great deal and he actually controls games both defensively and offensively now. I still can't quite believe it's the same player.

He's looked infinitely better under Klopp, as has the majority of the squad. Whenever I watch Liverpool, he's always the one (and Mignolet obvs) who seems to have one WTF moment per game. He's doing it nowhere near as often as he did under Rodgers, but he's still got one in him.

He's still pretty young though. His technique is excellent, but it's like he forgets he has it sometimes, so he just blooters the ball into the stands or makes a 10 yard pass like he's taking a shot, like Phil Jones has temporarily quantum leaped into Can's body.

Only 22 and i expect is going to get better and better. I think he'll be one of the star performers in the league next year. I also think he's probably Liverpools best bet for captain
I'd go for Lovren over him personally. He seems like more of a leader on the pitch at the minute. Henderson shouldn't be captain or even starting in our midfield next season.

Think Lovren should be left to concentrate on his performances as i think he could easily go back to being a liability again though whereas I think Can is the real deal.

Henderson can't be taken seriously as captain. Think everyone's fed up of this hard man act.

I'm hoping Lovren has put that behind him now but we'll see. Given Can's age I'd leave it a year or two before considering him for captain.

Yeah that and the fact that Henderson's been poor since Gerrard's departure is why I really don't want him as captain any more. He hasn't shown anything to me this year that makes me thing he's a leader or captain material going forward.

This.

Lovren was obviously also uncomfortable with being signed as 'the communicator' in defence. It was quite awkward to hear Rodgers talk about him as filling that role, only for Lovren to say he had never really done that before, but he could give it a try.

He is looking seriously good now

Liverpool fan in th office was wanking himself silly today over his performance last night

He's a good player and yet to fulfill his potential.

German Steel and Turkish Delight ( Couldn't resist )

How much was he again ?

Early to be saying he'll be the best in the league, but he has really started to kick on in the last three months.

He'll be a key figure in what may be a very exciting 16/17 campaign for Liverpool.

He's 22 and very inconsistent. I wouldn't expect him to be at that level at 23, which is still quite young for a CM. He has everything you need to be great but he'll probably still take a while.

Agree that it'll take a while, but he's been very consistent over the past few months. Since Klopp came in, really.

I've given him plenty of plaudits for his performances so I'm not going to shy away from the fact that he was bloody awful tonight. He's still young but I don't know where his head was at tonight.

Dreadful tonight. That pass for their third goal. wtf.
